Multiple people have asked for Eva and there was also someone asking for a book focused on Magik and Colossus.

I am always up for some more Magik.

I could go for an Emma Frost solo book too.
I might be the only person who would want this though.

To help me organize myself so I can cull my pull, I decided to make a list of my top ten favorite ongoing series.

Saga
Paper Girls
Godshaper
Gwenpool
Lazarus (hiatus)
Outcast
Squirrel Girl
TWD
Wolverine
X-Men Blue

Not included are limited and cancelled series such as Flintstones, Slam!, and Motor Girl, all of which would have otherwise been in the top ten.

Not sure if anyone here is into indie comics, but I'm currently reading Fante Bukowski Two by Noah Van Sciver (from Fantagraphics) and it's fantastic. Pic is pretty representative of his work, though not from the book I mentioned. He combines funny, depressing and heartfelt very well.

My Marvel Pull in general is shrinking too, Only DC book is Arrow and Sex Criminals is about to go on hiatus again. Fix I dunno if I wanna keep it.

I've read his Disquiet. Felt the quality of the stories was a bit inconsistent but loved his art style.

I've read some Van Sciver. Blammo and some other stuff. There's a Fante story in the most recent Fantagraphics FCBD book, too. I agree that he can be inconsistent, but I love the majority of his work. Often really funny despite having an over all pessimistic tone.

Read my Valiant FCBD issue. Quite liked the XO Manowar story. Bloodshot was pretty good, too, but didn't hook me as much.

So I liked a Valiant comic :(

Edit: How was X-Men Generations or whatever it's called? Jubilee's new joint.

I haven't read the FCBD issue, but XO has been fantastic. Bloodshot Reborn is maybe my favorite thing from Lemire; I'm still working through his indie stuff...

I need to check out Disquiet. Both the Fante Bukowski books are really good, definitely recommended if you like his other stuff at all. It's little more focused since it only deals with one character. Also really like Blammo #9.

Generation X #1

Let's start off by saying the art in this book is pure trash. Looks like the art/pencils were rushed. Just sloppy all around for a 4 dollar book. Then marvel has the nerve to double ship this? Dafuq. Then it has the nerve to end such a cliffhanger. UGH.

Once you get past the art, the core of the book is pretty entertaining. I enjoyed the writing and seeing mutants other than the classics.

overall 2/5

Art is a deal breaker, but at the same time I want to see the new guys power. the struggle is real

Have you read Sweet Tooth yet? That's probably what you should be hoping for quality wise out of Bloodshot Salvation, it's awesome. Last volume of Descender ruined me too

Luke Cage #1

LOL. Bruh that convo Luke had with the bad guy gave me life. "you did all this for 5 grand" dead! Love how he addresses people have with his clothes being destroyed every time.

Moving along, the plot is on point, and the art is decent enough. I like how Luke is drawn more realistically.

4/5 Iron Fist had a better start

I'm fixing to pick up the Sweet Tooth hardcovers. Hnng!

The first two issues of Royal City are quality, btw. Love, love, love that water colour art style. Sad plot, though, even for Lemire. I'm not loving it as instantly as I loved ST, but it's early days.

I would Love the HCs too, replace that old cheap paper they used in the paperbacks. It's just difficult to budget rebuying old comics when there's so many new comics! That's great to hear, Royal City is definitely on the list. Lemire has been reaching really deep lately, I think Roughneck is pretty gut wrenching too. Black Hammer vol 1 isn't too brutal but like I mentioned, Descender really got me on that last vol.

Speaking of Lemire actually, I bought a lot off eBay today on a whim, of his 5 trade Animal Man run. I read the first two back when it was coming out, but I never got further. Not only was it priced where I was getting two of the books free, the listing mentioned 4 of the 5 books are signed! No pics of the signatures so at worst, I got a good discount but if they are actually signed, that's rad.

Now you own issues of Rotworld.

The rest of the run is great though.

I might have to check out more of this stuff when the next minis start up. But only if they are new-reader friendly. Not gonna go back are read earlier minis.

How was A.D. by lemire? Haven't been a big lemire fan lately.

Well that one he only drew, it's Snyder on script duty. Plus I think it has actual storybook style prose with images pages, oppose to just regular sequentials so depends. Do you like Snyder and do you Really like Snyder. It got great reviews though.

(I say only, as if the art isn't significant, more just that I assume when you say you haven't been a fan lately, you mean writing)

Skipping, if I wanted to read words I'd finally read the resident evil caliban cove novel I've had for the last ten years.

Soon...

Nice, man. I haven't read his Animal Man. I just remember everyone here bitching about rot world. I picked up Roughneck, but haven't got to it yet.

Mm well I meant both, I made that sound like it's only prose and no sequentials lol it's a mix of both. But yea, book got good reviews but I can see the flip side and why some folks would have zero interest in that, it's fair enough. Plus sounds like you have one hot novel sitting there...

I honestly don't really know why I didn't keep going with it. I think I just read the swamp thing collection of the Rotworld finale and called it a day there, but I really liked the book, strong family themes from Lemire once again. I'll probably do some write ups once I get to them! As much as everyone is loving Rebirth I appreciate the new 52 for giving us Swampy, Animal Man, Frankenstein, I vampire and Demon Knights all at once. I feel like I took it for granted. Unless DC do a monster/horror imprint I doubt we see that again!

Please write up Roughneck once you've read it! I am going to get it but I keep buying other things on a whim and blowing my budget lol and it's kind of pricey here
