The Witcher 3 is boring and the combat is really bad. I wanted to like it, bought it two times (PS4 and PC).

I have ~400 hours in Fallout 4, never finished it, hate the story/most of the quests, spent most of that time building bases and collecting things to build bases for no reason that I can discern.

Also,
I've beaten every mission and most major quests in Final Fantasy XI, but I still have no idea how to skill chain.

This post just gave me flashbacks of playing Blm back in the day with a chart like this printed out next to my screen.

Edit: Ha, seems I'm not the only one.

Before I platinumed Horizon, my only two platinum trophies were Lego Pirates of he Caribbean on PS3, and Knack.

I completed 100% Shadow the Hedgehog, it was my only Gamecube game at that time and I didn't think it was that bad. I was really surprised to read that everyone hates it like Sonic 2006.

Metroid Prime 3 is way better than 2.

Twilight Princess is still the best 3D Zelda.

Sonic 2 is way overrated compared to 1 and 3.

Toejam & Earl 2 is better than 1.

Yoshi's Island is the best Mario game.

The controls in all 3D Mario games are crap compared to something like Jak & Daxter. In comparison, they feel like the controller is only being polled at 30fps.

I'm having to force myself through Zelda: Breath of the Wild. I think its the most overrated video game I've ever played and wish I hadn't wasted my money on this.

To answer the thread's question, I guess the thing I'm most ashamed of is how I rarely put in the extra effort for finish off 1CCs for (emulated) arcade games. I usually get pretty far and end up being satisfied with that and move on to another game (dropping the game rather than credit feed). It's something I've always wanted to fix by returning to a bunch of games, but there is always new stuff coming out.

Edit: Ha, seems I'm not the only one.

Poor timing. You'll never MB Freeze like this!

I've never finished a Pokemon game, yet they're one of the only RPG's I've tried and loved.

I'm currently in-progress on Emerald (stuck at elite 4), SoulSilver (~60% through), and the verrry beginning of X (haven't really started playing, just felt like getting a taste).

I played Red for a while in an emulator on my calculator in high school, but eventually got bored (around the time I was in the tower with the ghosts I think?) and I don't even know if I still have the .sav. Before that, I'd played some of Yellow, but I only recall getting to whichever gym had all the water Pokemon. Other than that, I just played bits and pieces on other people's Game Boys when I was a kid.

When I was young I didn't realize the whole "hm slave" trick and didn't take enough time to level up Pokemon other than my starter, which probably had something to do with not finishing any. Now I'm just busy.

I don't like Super Mario 64
I mean, I don't think it's bad and I can apreciate what it did for the industry as a whole. But never felt like a Mario game to me. I always called it "some other game with a Mario skin".
In turn, I was super excited for 3D Land and 3D World, and called them "what SM64 should've been from the beginning"
I feel something similar about the Uncharted series. I can apreciate what they do, but I don't think they're for me. Because of that, I never even tried TLOU

I have the exact same feelings about Mario. Haven't played 3D World, though (my only Nintendo consoles are handhelds). The closest I've come to tolerating Mario 64 is in an emulator running at super high resolution so that, while the gameplay annoys me, at least the graphics won't. Still haven't felt like playing it though.

I've only played the first Uncharted, but TLOU is very different. It's still a linear third-person-action game, but if you really don't like the gameplay just play it on easy for the story.

I play Candy Crush occasionally. I used to play Soda Saga a lot.

The last non-Nintendo console I owned was a PSX. The last I played on for longer than an hour was a PS2.

I never played Uncharted, Battlefield, The Last of Us, Assassin's Creed or any Metroid after Super Metroid. Also, MGSV was the first in the series I played and I didn't particularly like it.

I hate fighting games because I rather just mash buttons at random rather than learn combos, strafing and all that other jazz.

Oh and racing sims too because I can't control the damn cars without crashing into everything.

I play almost every game on easy, I just want to be told a story and do some rp.
Who gives a stuff if you're the best at some random AAA bollocks of the month.

I specialise in shmups though, and I always play those on Arcade difficulty with 1 credit.
So I guess my "gamer cred" is safe.

As I've gotten older, I find myself enjoying a few games more if I play them on easy mode.

The Resident Evil remake is one of my favourite games of the past few years, but I felt like dealing with the clunky combat and item scarcity would detract from the exploration and puzzle solving, so I went for the easy mode.

Don't regret it one bit.

here's mine.

i don't like Super Metroid, especially the controls. they feel so clunky that it takes me out of the game. i prefer even Other M in that department and basically every other Metroid except the original (i hate the original on every way).

I've never beaten any of the Legend of Zelda games.

I've never touched any of the Baldur's Gate or KOTOR games.

I have 100 hours in Skyrim, never made it beyond the Elf dinner thing.

Easy mode? Disgusting.

Pick yours:

I love to talk shit about the Xbox, but I don't think I ever touched one.

I actually think Rayman 3 is the best Rayman game. Also Rabbids rock.

I've only played a few Legend of Zelda games and never finished any of them. I also found them extremely boring. I couldn't care any less about the characters or lore. BoTW is the closest I've come to actually enjoying a Zelda game and even that I find pretty boring.

I have no confession, I just wanted to say WHAT THE FUCK OP!!! SHAME. SHAME. SHAME. SHAME. SHAME.....

Also, there is some pretty fucked up shit in this thread. When OP said credibility destroying, you guys came through.

Ok, I bought Ikaruga 3 times, and despite loving that game, I've never beaten it. That's the best I could do, I can't hang with you guys. Now I'm going back to my video games.

I hate gamers and gamer culture.

Gameplay in The Last of Us and the Uncharted series suck.

The Witcher 3 is a bad game.

'More options is always a good thing' is a lazy BS argument.

Half Life 2 is only 'pretty good' and not some gaming FPS messiah that everyone makes it out to be.

IMO, Burnout Paradise is the best game in the series. It's head and shoulders better than every other game in that franchise.

Also, I can't bring myself to finish a Half Life or Zelda game.

I've never beaten Resident Evil 4. It feels like a chore. I've bought it for every platform it's ever been released on but never gotten very far.

It looks like something I'd love...but I just can't enjoy it.

I play many games on Easy difficulty nowadays because I'd rather enjoy the story than having to watch one cutscene over and over again because I repeatedly die at that one boss.

After I beat Nier Automata:
I gave up save but then used PS+ cloud to upload my previously deleted save so I could BUY all the trophies at the trophy shop. I don't give two shits about that emotional shit about your saves and other people helping.

Resident Evil 4 is the worst TPS RE game and is highly overrated by Gamecube fanboys from back in the day.

You know it was released and was highly successful on the PS2 as well right, and then on just about every platform since? I know, I've bought it 4 times. It's definitely not overrated, you just don't like it.

I love adventure games and point and clicks and such, but if I get stuck I'll look up the answer in no time at all. I ain;t got time for that shit anymore. I'll drop the difficulty down if I feel I'm not having fun with certain aspects. A recent example would be Prey. I started on hard, but soon found myself cheesing most of the battles, like draging turrets everywhere and save-scumming. I quickly thought to myself "well this is no fun" so I dropped it down to normal and loved the game to bits.

I play every game on the easiest difficulty. I have a lifetime subscription to a trainer website so if I'm playing on PC, I can turn on invincibility and just enjoy playing through a game like that. I've never liked death in games, the only challenges I like are racing/strategy games. If there's a story focused game, I do not want to die.

Dark Souls is shit.

I consider myself a pretty avid horror game enthusiast, beaten and enjoyed most of the more mainstream titles a few indie gems.

I can't finish Outlast.

Something about the setting / format just stresses me out.

Also: I deeply love RE6
