[RUMOR] Super Smash Bros Switch images leaked

Here is the reason this is likely real

If you were making a fake leak the first thing you'd do is include a new character. Why go to such an insane amount of detail for multiple fake shots to confirm an upres 3ds stage and upres smash run?

Also any inconsistencies can be explained by it being in development, remember the real smash 4 leaks had "inconsistencies"

Definitely not.

These are undeniably real.

It makes sense for Nintendo to port the 3DS's features and stages into the switch version with all of the wii U content too. Even a proper target smash is in this.

Cool, if it's true, then I certainly love the idea of them remastering the 3ds stages. Some good stages in there that need to be on the big screen.

Always skeptical with Smash stuff, but this seems plausible.

That said, model rips have been possible on Wii U for a while so it looking good doesn't mean that much, and a ton of Smash Run enemies showed up there as trophies and in Smash Tour.

Yeah the amount of effort required could be the main reason to believe these are real for sure

Not sure these assets exist in any other form so they had to be created by hand

Man, it just feels entirely too soon for another Smash game. I'm used to these things being spread out six to seven years apart, having one only three years after the last one is just too soon.

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
Nah, the 4chan thread says that the screenshots are for a Japanese magazine and there is a screenshot with "Bowser Jr." instead of "Koopa Jr."

That + other inconsistencies (especially the models) make me go on #teamfake for this one.

Yeah, but then why would they use 3DS models, apparently?

Using the already HD Wii U models would have been easier and probably as convincing.

Those are the 3DS character models -- there are lots of subtle differences between them and the Wii U ones.
That's what puzzles me the most. WiiU version is blown open to the point where people have already created character mods with a unique moveset. There's literally zero reason to use 3DS assets for creating a fake.

Yeah I was thinking this too. It's such a boring-ass leak that it might as well be true.

Probably fake, but I hope it's real. I practically bought my Wii U just for Smash and XBX, and I wasn't disappointed. Easily the best Nintendo series.

People keep quoting the rayman leak, and while that was impressive, that was just one fake image in video form. This faker took the effort to make from scratch hd assets for a few stages/modes but "used the 3ds models"? If he's got that much time and effort he'd likely just use the wiiu models.

I want to believe these are fake

But I also thought the Duck Hunt Dog, Shulk and Bowser Jr. screenshots were fake when they first leaked.

Plus, that Paper Mario stage looks completely unique. Maybe it's easier to fake because of the papercraft elements, but man, it looks really good.

Its just a weird mix of assets. The 3DS based levels are too detailed to even be a Citra upscale but the models look like upscaled 3DS models.

At least for Smash Run it would make some sense to use lower LOD models since there's a lot going on.

I got nothing for the battle stage, though. I actually couldn't tell where they sourced them from.

I want to be real so bad but these I can't get over. I believed the ESRB ones because the "inconsistencies" didn't seem noteworthy. This one just kind of looks off. I'd love to be wrong though. I think smash 3DS has some better stages than the Wii U version and add in Smash Run and this game will be amazing.

That plus the images use 3DS models for a system that's more powerful than the Wii U.

It's a convincing fake, but it's likely a fake.

Definitely not.

This makes me think real, but regardless I LOVE SMASH LEAKS.

So much fun to follow, dissect, and debate (argue). The ESRB leak for Smash Bros. 3DS was amazing... especially how even after footage leaked people still believed it was fake. BUT that was pre-Switch "leak," so people are understandably super cautious.

Almost certainly fake, but why is it impossible that this uses 3DS models? Couldn't they have just started with the Wii U/3DS versions and made another enhanced port?

A lotta work to fake, but I know it's the kind of thing someone out there would do...
