Tekken 7 has 18,000 concurrent Steam users with "Very positive" reviews

I only played a couple of chapters of the story mode, but I am very happy with my (pre)purchase.

Getting a solid 1080p60 with max settings on a GTX 1060.

Very happy for namco and harada san. Warner stay losing!
In the grand scheme of things those are negligible numbers when they plan to sell a couple of million on consoles. Warner might end up selling more than tekken on pc even if they release late.

PC is the best platform for fighters tbh
Don't be silly.

The only PC FGs that have a good playerbase are the ones with crossplay i.e SFV. T7 has a similar count to SFV and that game is pretty dead if you turn off PS4 crossplay. For Honor is the healthiest PC FG by far and even they pale in comparison to console.

Well, on PC is where you could conceivably achive the lowest input latency, highest frame rates, and best graphics.

Of course in practice, only a few games in the genre manage to actually take any advantage of that.
Highest frame rates? You obviously don't play fighting games.

No shit it's the launch period lol

Yeah let's leave out all the cons of fighters on PC aswell compared to consoles and the pros to playing fighters on console compared to PC

Another reason its doing so well is that the game seems to be running amazingly well on older PCs. Looking through the reviews, people are able to run the game @ 60 fps on 6 year+ old PCs

No shit its launch period but it also means something when no other fighter has (besides for honor if you count that) managed to get the same numbers in the history of PC fighters even during their "launch period".

Good for them. I'll wait until they fix a few things before I double dip.

Really wish they would/could implement cross play.

It's almost the same as SFV and way below For Honor. Without crossplay it's still nowhere near good enough for getting online matches quickly.

Wait for the peak. America is still asleep.
There is also this weekend.

Game could top out at 25k
And that is significantly above 13k
About double ;)

This has a lot to do with it I think. Im running a 2500k & GTX 1070 and I'm still able to max it and get a solid 60fps. Techno wizardry

Looking good but we will see if it stays that way. If it does stay populated around the time ARMS comes out I am going to have a hard time choosing which of the two to buy.

How are Dead or Alive 5's numbers? Since there is a free version I would think that would be a low barrier to people trying it.

Pretty good for a PC fighting game

// Edit:

To compare this to previous fighting game peak performances:

For Honor: 45,923
Street Fighter V: 13,807
Mortal Kombat X: 13,649
Injustice: Ultimate Edition: 5,685
Ultra Street Fighter IV: 5,472
Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition: 5,178
Guilty Gear Xrd Sign: 1,954
Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator: 1,302
Street Fighter X Tekken: 1,287
BlazBlue Central Friction: 1,031
BlazBlue Chronophantasma: 1,086
DiveKick: 947

I'm so happy to see this because:

1) it's an amazing in depth game
2) NAMCO put work in giving us a full game not a shell of a game

I played for the first time in a long time last night, loved the Japanese-ish story line.

Also the game-play is the best it's ever been. The faster game-engine/gameplay makes the game sooo much better.

Great job NAMCO.

Not true at all. SF4 still has an active community and is easy to find games. That's SF4. I believe they only average around ~1k players daily now too. It's all time peak was only 5k or so.

SF5 with crossplay turned off is even easier to find games. It's not even close to dead.

For Honor is considered a fighting game?
I'm surprised too. Basically it's a new "Dark Souls is JRPG" thing.
Mechanically it features:
- Light Attacks
- Heavy Attacks
- Combos
- Link Attacks
- Guards
- Throws/Guard Breaks
- Parries
- Character types like grapplers and zoners
- Stances
- Poison/Bleed mechanics
- Chip damage
- Super armor
- Knock downs
- Ring outs

It doesn't have the same camera setup, lets you move more in 3D, and lets you play modes beyond 1v1 dueling, but I don't see how the core genre isn't there.

Like I don't see many people arguing The Witcher and Skyrim aren't WRPGs because they don't feature an isometric perspective, because that's not the defining characteristic here.

Your specs are solid lol.. you can prob run it at 4k. I've seen people post on steam / reddit that they can run tekken 7 with medium settings on a macbook pro with an integrated graphics card @ 60 fps

Impressive, although you have to wonder how much those numbers mean. SFV is higher than MKX in this metric but MKX sold over three times better according so Steamspy.

For Honor absolutely is a fighting game. I don't know why anyone would consider any different. Because it has big team, shooter type modes?

What a compelling argument.
The game that sold over 40 millions copies on consoles up till this point gets its first release on PC, and now all of a sudden PC is the BEST place for fighters. It wasn't a very compelling statement to begin with, hence LMAO.

Until PC can have sustained/higher numbers for fighters over their console counterparts, and actually get every major fighter released to it (MKXL), his statement will remain uncompelling.
