Everything is better than E3 2015.
I just skipped through it again on youtube. Man that was terribad. It was about 45 mins long. So length doesnt really matter.

I take that back: If Retro's new game is an original IP, they're going to hold it close to the vest, secretive as they are. If it's a sequel (either Metroid or Donkey Kong), I'll expect a partial reveal.

Guess I'll toss in my own possible line up and roughly the order.

- Super Mario Odyssey (5 min) - Trailer and discussion about the game. Significant focus during the Treehouse Live event.
- ARMS and Splatoon reminders (2 to 3 minutes total) - Reminder about the tournaments and their release.
- Fire Emblem Warriors (3 mins) - New trailer with gameplay and some details and a release date.
- FIre Emblem Switch Tease (30 seconds) - 2018
- Breath of the Wild DLC footage or trailer. (2 mins) Maybe some information on the second pack coming in the Fall/Winter.
- Skyrim Switch Edition (1 min) - Trailer with included gameplay (confirmation that the expansions are included and not just the base game) and any Nintendo exclusive content if there is any. Maybe a Zelda focus.
- Indies Trailer (2 mins) - Games known and unknown. (2017 and 2018)
- Indie game spotlight (2 mins) - One game gets a single focus due to being an exclusive. (2018)
- Sizzle 3rd party reel ( 1 min)
- Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (3 -4 mins) - Trailer with gameplay and release month but no day. Highlight the multiple mode if it has one the way XCX did. Dec 2017
- (BIG HOPE) Dragon Quest XI - Trailer and Switch footage for the first time (2 -3 mins) - Early 2018
- Retro Studio's game (5 mins)- Reveal and details - Early 2018
- Reminder to stick around for Treehouse Live, tournaments, and why (1 min)

This puts us a little over 30 minutes. Nintendo said Treehouse Live would start at about 9:30am PST. That gives them some room to start a little late and I assume the Spotlight video wasn't finalized around that time of the press release.

Also possible to be shown or replace something above.

- Rabbids x Mario - I have no clue where this gets shown off or if it's worthy of knocking something new off the list.
- Big western third party game announcement (1 min) - Trailer only. This a long shot and don't really think it happens.
- Big Japan third party announcement (1 min) - Trailer and maybe gameplay. Bayonetta 3 or something Atlus related. High chance something like this gets announced.

I don't think Monster Hunter gets shown during the Spotlight. That could be Treehouse only because games do get announced there that aren't included during the presentation.

That I can agree with. Assuming that Blizzard has no dev kits, CoD has the best chance of hitting the Switch.

In general I think anyone looking to the Switch for AAA shooters or competive multiplayer shooters are probably going to be disappointed.

It's true, but you can't deny that an FPS on the Switch would be awesome, particularly in handheld mode.

Killzone: Mercenary is proof in the pudding that it would be great.

I feel like Switch getting a Beenox version of COD is somewhat likely at the very least.

Odyssey: 7 minutes
Splatoon 2: 4 minutes
FE Warriors: 2 minutes
Xenoblade 2: 5 minutes
Mario X Rabbids: 6 minutes
Zelda DLC: 2 minutes
Pokken: 2 minutes
ARMS: 1 minute

My best guesses:

Super Mario Odyssey (5 min)
Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle (4 min)
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (5 min)
Breath of the Wild DLC (2 min)
Fire Emblem Warriors (3 min)
Pokken Fighters (2 min)
Indies/3rd Party reel (4 minutes)
Super Smash Bros. For Nintendo Switch - early 2018 (3 min)
Tease for Animal Crossing - 2018 (no gameplay footage shown) (1-2 min)

I have to disagree. If Nintendo is targeting casuals/ families, and the esports crowd. Which is what Nintendo showed in their announcement video, then it absolutely needs competitive shooters. It won't have the best graphics of course, but CS:Go doesn't have the best graphics of shooters and it is the biggest esport shooter.

Nintendo does a lot of things we would call "questionable" and maybe even "out of touch". But Nintendo isn't dumb by any stretch, they know that they must have a FPS shooter for the holidays. So, unless Retro had a big surprise for November. They will have a third party shooter on the system. Even if it is Blops 1 or 2. Nintendo will want the shooter genre represented for the holidays.

They tend to start E3 presentation with a bang.
It was Smash in 2014
Star Fox (it was kinda a big deal, even if you didn't like the final product)
Zelda in 2016 obviously

So I want to say Mario Odyssey or Mario Rabbids is their first game.

There is no way in hell they start with Mario Rabbids.

I could see it getting a quick Modern Warfare remaster port to see if the sales are good on it over the Summer, which could prompt Activision to have Beenox make a quick port of WWII. Not sure if that's a possible situation though given the time frames.

I'd buy it. I might even double dip to play on PS4 with friends and campaign and solo online on Switch. THAT'S HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS DAMN SYSTEM.

Here's my prediction, partly modified from lord_of_flood's because I'm lazy:

Super Mario Odyssey trailer + talk (5 min)
Fire Emblem Warriors trailer (2 min)
Xenoblade Chronicles 2, trailer + early 2018 date for NA (3 min)
Splatoon 2 trailer, maybe a full city hub reveal + invitational mention (2 min)
News on first "update pack" for ARMS + trailer (2 min trailer)
Pokken + Ultra Sun/Moon for 3DS mention (1 min)
Mario & Rabbids Kingdom Battle trailer (2 min)
Indie/third party reel, hopefully some release date news here (5 mins)
Final reveal: Pikmin 4 coming 2018 (2 min)

That's 25 mins, add 5 for skits and talking.

I'd be pretty satisfied with that.

I think this is pretty spot on, except for Pikmin 4. I think it will actually be Luigi's Mansion 3 for Next Level Games. I also think they will manage to squeeze in a 2minute trailer for Retro's game.

From what i see here it's not gonna be super impactful... I really think E3 should be about further things and surprises. I mean they have all the time they want (at E3 and before and after) to promote incoming games. They should make sure the E3 conf/presentation has some things that will make the gaming world talk. it's all about the dream, not what i'll be buying 2 months after that.

Yep. People expecting minutes of ARMS, Pokken and Splatoon 2 are being needlessly cynical. At most we'll get a "please buy ARMs" plug, a Pokken invitational mention and a short trailer for Splatoon.

ha! I bet they will talk about splatoon2, arms and pokken. My only question is how many of the 30 minutes they will spend on these games we REALLY dont want to see on the spotlight presentation

My guess is they will spend at least 9 minutes between the 3 games. Almost 1/3 of the presentation

Super hype version: "Deluxe" Wii U remasters line announcement, Tokyo Mirage Sessions, Bayonetta 2 and Wonderful 101 first titles to be released, coming in the next 3 months. Mother 3 available right after presentation for both 3DS and Switch.
There won't be any 3DS talk in the Nintendo Spotlight.

9 minutes for Splatoon 2, Arms and Pokkemon
9 minutes for Amiibo tie ins
9 minutes for dolls/Nintendo sketch comedy/Reggie stuff

Leaves 3 minutes for a Mario Odyssey teaser and a short mention of something new, though!

Yup, maybe shave off some time from Mario Odyssey and make that into an indie/Skyrim or 3rd party sizzle reel

If ARMS is in the spotlight it'll probably just be a ~1 minute launch trailer. Splatoon 2 will definitely be in the spotlight. I'd say a 90 seconds - 2 minute trailer. Don't think Pokken will but I could be wrong.

Looks like that someone from NoE is now working for NoA!

I do think they will announce some kind of Day/Week 1 ARMS update with a new character or something, just to start out. Or at least a character teaser.

No. I am tired of watching games that won't release in the next year or so. Like Sony E3 2015 or the January 2013 direct.

Not even a mention? I bet they mention the new games at least once. In a passing reference to the Pokemon direct at least.
The description for the Spotlight (both on social media & the press release) explicitly said Switch news. At least in the case of the 2017 focus, it said "focus" for the press release, thus leaving some leeway for some 2018 news.

That said, I do think Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon will have a Treehouse Live segment.

I think the TPC press release confirmed that, right?

As for my predictions for the Nintendo Spotlight, assuming that it's the bare minimum of 30 minutes in length...
  • Super Mario Odyssey w/ release date (5 minutes)
  • The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild DLC 1 reminder w/ release date and a tease &/or full trailer of DLC 2's story & new dungeon (3 minutes)
  • Mention the Splatoon 2, ARMS, & Pokkén DX Invitationals (1 minute)
  • Fire Emblem Warriors trailer w/ release date (3 minutes)
  • Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle reveal w/ release date (4 minutes)
  • Monster Hunter XX localization announcement (2 minutes)
  • Skyrim: Switch Edition details w/ release date (2 minutes)
  • Xenoblade Chronicles 2 trailer w/ either release date or delay announcement (3 minutes)
  • Retro Studios' new game reveal (2 minutes)
  • Pikmin 4 reveal (2 minutes)
  • Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo Switch/Smash 4 Deluxe reveal w/ Early 2018 release timeframe (3 minutes)

Yes I remember it saying something like "many will eat crow once third party support will be revealed"
But I have nothing against him at all

He correctly called Nintendo making a deal for Owlboy though, which I actually kinda gave him shit about for the ludicrous idea that they'd prioritise Switch over Sony platforms.

To all the people hoping for a Beenox port of COD, never forget:

Does Beenox even have enough resources to port the game to Switch, while also working on CoD content with other studios? They weren't the lead studio on the remaster either, and their job openings didn't make it sound like they were working on a port.
