Vern heavily hinted at a solid third party support to be shown at the January event...
Nothing against him but...
Bet first BOTW DLC drops during presentation.
That I can agree with. Assuming that Blizzard has no dev kits, CoD has the best chance of hitting the Switch.
You make a good point. They want people to watch Treehouse. If anything it will drop Thursday, or the following week.
In general I think anyone looking to the Switch for AAA shooters or competive multiplayer shooters are probably going to be disappointed.
It's true, but you can't deny that an FPS on the Switch would be awesome, particularly in handheld mode.
Killzone: Mercenary is proof in the pudding that it would be great.

Yeah, Odyssey will be it.They tend to start E3 presentation with a bang.
It was Smash in 2014
Star Fox (it was kinda a big deal, even if you didn't like the final product)
Zelda in 2016 obviously
So I want to say Mario Odyssey or Mario Rabbids is their first game.

I feel like Switch getting a Beenox version of COD is somewhat likely at the very least.
Here's my prediction, partly modified from lord_of_flood's because I'm lazy:
Super Mario Odyssey trailer + talk (5 min)
Fire Emblem Warriors trailer (2 min)
Xenoblade Chronicles 2, trailer + early 2018 date for NA (3 min)
Splatoon 2 trailer, maybe a full city hub reveal + invitational mention (2 min)
News on first "update pack" for ARMS + trailer (2 min trailer)
Pokken + Ultra Sun/Moon for 3DS mention (1 min)
Mario & Rabbids Kingdom Battle trailer (2 min)
Indie/third party reel, hopefully some release date news here (5 mins)
Final reveal: Pikmin 4 coming 2018 (2 min)
That's 25 mins, add 5 for skits and talking.
I'd be pretty satisfied with that.
Yep. People expecting minutes of ARMS, Pokken and Splatoon 2 are being needlessly cynical. At most we'll get a "please buy ARMs" plug, a Pokken invitational mention and a short trailer for Splatoon.

Super hype version: "Deluxe" Wii U remasters line announcement, Tokyo Mirage Sessions, Bayonetta 2 and Wonderful 101 first titles to be released, coming in the next 3 months. Mother 3 available right after presentation for both 3DS and Switch.
ha! I bet they will talk about splatoon2, arms and pokken. My only question is how many of the 30 minutes they will spend on these games we REALLY dont want to see on the spotlight presentation
My guess is they will spend at least 9 minutes between the 3 games. Almost 1/3 of the presentation

Bill's Meme Material lol
Looks like that someone from NoE is now working for NoA!
From what i see here it's not gonna be super impactful... I really think E3 should be about further things and surprises. I mean they have all the time they want (at E3 and before and after) to promote incoming games. They should make sure the E3 conf/presentation has some things that will make the gaming world talk. it's all about the dream, not what i'll be buying 2 months after that.
DDR Metroid would be awesome
Bill's Meme Material lol
The description for the Spotlight (both on social media & the press release) explicitly said Switch news. At least in the case of the 2017 focus, it said "focus" for the press release, thus leaving some leeway for some 2018 news. Not even a mention? I bet they mention the new games at least once. In a passing reference to the Pokemon direct at least.
Errr, he did?

That said, I do think Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon will have a Treehouse Live segment.

Yes I remember it saying something like "many will eat crow once third party support will be revealed"
But I have nothing against him at all
I recall someone on GAF mentioning it before you, but I'm not sure.I think the TPC press release confirmed that, right?
Wii Music Resort lol
To all the people hoping for a Beenox port of COD, never forget:
DDR Metroid would be awesome
