Does Beenox even have enough resources to port the game to Switch, while also working on CoD content with other studios? They weren't the lead studio on the remaster either, and their job openings didn't make it sound like they were working on a port.

Probably not. I don't know where the rumour even came from but Beenox were asked whether they were working on a Switch version and didn't deny it. I very much doubt they are though.

I think this is a safe bet. I also expect at least one surprise announcement or teaser for 2018. There usually is always one unexpected announcement

Bet first BOTW DLC drops during presentation.

They want people to watch Treehouse. If anything it will drop Thursday, or the following week.

FWIW, the last update included an August date for the first DLC pack:

http://www.zeldainformer.com/new-dlc-dates-included-in-breath-of-the-wild-update/

That could change, of course, but I thought it worth mentioning.

I agree, and usually there is more than one. Not to mention some during Treehouse (RHTB+, Ever Oasis last year) or in PR as well (Mario Party last year).

Not to mention, there will be intro/outro segments, and the event could run past (or below) the approximate 30 minute time.

I don't know the answer to that. But I believe some studio is porting a shooter for Activision to be released on Switch. What ever happened to Treyarchs Nintendo team? Does that team still exist?

Google also had that "leak" or error where is you Googled "Switch games" the list would show with Google and after Mario, Zedla and Minecraft it showed Blops 1.

I think Pikmin 4 was and is Hey Pikmin.

At least when Miyamoto mentioned it.

Also it's key to bear in mind, the source that told LKD (and likely Eurogamer) about "Pikmin 4" was the same one that referenced Pokemon Stars.

I have a feeling that source just got some wires crossed regarding Hey Pikmin and Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon. The way LKD described "Pikmin 4" sounds an awful lot like Hey Pikmin too, and neither her nor Eurogamer have mentioned it with the same level of confidence since.

I think the same. NinjaCoachZ has a detailed explication of this that I'm going to re-link: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=237969771&postcount=2840.

Thanks for the plug! At the end of the day I think the idea of a Pikmin 4 coming to Switch in 2017 is definitely on the optimistic side of things. Stuff is just not adding up regarding its existence.

Yep.

I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see a "core" Pikmin game for a while actually. Being that it's more of a single player game, it sort of goes against what Nintendo is really pushing with the Switch right now. Not only that, but of the single-player focused franchises that people DO want a new game from (looking at you, Metroid) Pikmin isn't super high on the list.

My pleasure. I think you are right on the money based on the info we have at hand.

Yep.

I agree with you. Switch is heavily focused on MP games for much of this year. Personally I'd love a new mainline Pikmin, but my expectations for stuff like that and Luigi's Mansion and 2d side-scrollers are pretty low for the next year.

I'm betting that Microsoft doesn't announce any retail exclusives (and I'm defining "exclusive" as Xbox and PC) other than Forza 7 at their conference.

Yep.

I mean, in terms of the next few months, Nintendo is pushing multiplayer games, but the Switch launched with Zelda and the big games of the Holiday season are Mario and Xenoblade.

MarioXRabbids is like a multiplayer X-Com like RPG so I don't know where that falls in the more Zelda like or Mario Kart like though, lol.

My best guesses:

Super Mario Odyssey (5 min)
Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle (4 min)
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (5 min)
Breath of the Wild DLC (2 min)
Fire Emblem Warriors (3 min)
Pokken Fighters (2 min)
Indies/3rd Party reel (4 minutes)
Super Smash Bros. For Nintendo Switch - early 2018 (3 min)
Tease for Animal Crossing - 2018 (no gameplay footage shown) (1-2 min)
I absolutely don't see 5 minutes of Xenoblade 2, maybe not even 5 minutes for Mario Odyssey. 2 to 4 depending of it they go for trailer only or trailer + some details.
Though I could imagine a lot for ONLY Mario Odyssey, because it's proably their B I G game more or less like Zelda if not more. But the rest of the games will get far less.

Certainly not more Xenoblade 2 than Splatoon 2. We'll get one trailer of 1 to almost 3 minutes and the only reason to really go to 5 (I'm sure it won't) is if there are lots of details mentionned after, but I only imagine something like "more details soon".
Really 5 minutes of Xenoblade 2 doesn't make any sense. I really wonder what makes you imagine it's even possible. I'm curious.

If they tease 2018 games, it also won't be 3 minutes. 10 to 40 seconds I'd say, so 3 minutes of 2018 smash, don't think so.
There will be much more third party than what's mentionned in these expectations I think.
Basically, you remove a few minutes here and there from all this and add it for third party either that we know, like Octopath and so on, or new games.
3 minutes for Pokken and Arms ? No...Why would they throw a Pokemon direct 1 week before only to show the exact same thing right after for 2 LONG minutes ?
Not to mention Arms and Pokken tournaments. There will be plenty of coverage, I'm actually thinking we'll see 0 footage of both, or at worst, half of what you think will be shown.

It's supposed to be a big E3, so they'll show a "good" amount of software, not just ~6 first party and one or 2 third.

I find the biggest timesuck is live demos. Nintendo serves those "a la carte" via Treehouse live instead of forcing them.

Pretty much this. Nintendo will be showcasing the stuff they're showing at the presentation for, like, two days worth of streaming. They won't be doing lengthy gameplay segments of Splatoon 2 because that's what Treehouse is for.

I think it'll go something like this:

Opening: Mario Odyssey
Second: "Remember, you can buy ARMS this week!"
Third: Surprise of some sort...one of: Mario sports title, Mario Party, or Warioware.
Fourth: Zelda DLC
Fifth: Fire Emblem Warriors And expect more content from our friends at Koei-Tecmo in the future.
Sixth: Xenoblade 2...featuring a Japanese-dubbed trailer and a Neogaf freakout that the Western release is delayed.
Seventh: Check out these titles from our friends at Square Enix: Octopath + that generic-looking thing from Tokyo RPG Factory.
Eighth: Splatoon 2.
Ninth: 3DS Sizzle Reel
Tenth: Indie Sizzle Reel
Eleventh: "Our friends at Ubisoft have shown off Mario Rabbids yesterday, but here's a story trailer. Also, they're bringing Monopoly, Steep, and Rayman, so look forward to those."
Twelfth: Our old friends at Capcom wanted to show this: Monster Hunter Generations 2 for the Nintendo Switch.
Thirteenth: Sports! NBA 2K18 and an EA FIFA game that looks suspiciously like it's a decade old.
Fourteenth: Don't forget all of the other things our friends are putting out! Sizzle reel of Skyrim, Payday 2, Atelier, etc.
Fifteenth: Finally, we'll leave you with this: (Other surprise, title likely coming out first half of 2018)

It's not like any of these time slot predictions make any sense anyway. There will surely be speech introductions for some games. That plus the trailers themselves can make up 3-5 minutes in total.

ha! I bet they will talk about splatoon2, arms and pokken. My only question is how many of the 30 minutes they will spend on these games we REALLY dont want to see on the spotlight presentation

My guess is they will spend at least 9 minutes between the 3 games. Almost 1/3 of the presentation

Do you really believe this?

Didn't Miyamoto say that his team was working on the next Pikmin instalment? Pretty sure Arzest isn't his team.

Check the post I linked by NinjaCoachZ, I believe he covers that. Miyamoto says "teams," which could basically be anyone working in a game called Pikmin, and just like Tezuka oversaw YNI developed by Arzest, I imagine Miyamoto is overseeing at least to an extent any game with the Pikmin name.

Why 3ds? The spotlight seems to be only about the switch and nothing more.

If you think about other conferences that are 1 or 1.5 hours long, you should also realise that they are required to show full gameplay showings because they don't have something like the treehouse. This often means something like COD gets close to 10 minutes dedicated to it. If you cut the fat and redistribute it to an all day livestream, you can cut a lot of time from those presentations. Even Playstation's no-nonsense presentation from last year could have been slimmed down if they could delegate more footage to a follow-up stream.

Still, 30 minutes is tight, so I hope they go for a matter-of-fact, no-nonsense style like in the April direct, just with more high profile announcements. It should very much be possible to have a great showing in 30 minutes.

Didn't the other one said that it will 'focus' on 2017 titles similar to how April Nintendo Direct focused on Arms & Splatoon?

This is an overly anal semantic analysis, probably, but I haven't seen the phrase "focus on" used in relation to the E3 Spotlight. The word they've used is "featuring."

From their initial PR:

Nintendo’s E3 activities kick off Tuesday, June 13, at 9 a.m. PT with its Nintendo Spotlight: E3 2017 video presentation. Available to view live at http://e3.nintendo.com, this presentation will offer more details about Super Mario Odyssey and other Nintendo Switch games, with a focus on games launching in 2017.

I agree.
Wasn't the January live not supposed to show anything coming 2018 (yet we got SMT, NMH...) ?
And Project Octopath Traveler.

Off topic, but with Lost Sphear, Octopath Traveler and XBC2, the Switch already has garnered a nice lineup of games for (allegedly) a first year and a half (and there will be more of course).

Why not? They may well think those games should be their focus since they are releasing soon.

Because ARMs had a full Direct and reviews are out, Splatoon 2 has had multiple trailers and Pokken was detailed in its original trailer. That and they all have invitational tournaments happening either during E3 or later on and the latter two will almost definitely be shown during the Treehouse. Thinking they'll take up a decent amount of the show is just unrealistic pessimism not based in any actual logic.

I agree with you, Waji. I expect a decent bit of third party.

Eleventh: "Our friends at Ubisoft have shown off Mario Rabbids yesterday, but here's a story trailer. Also, they're bringing Monopoly, Steep, and Rayman, so look forward to those."

Heh, I liked your narration. About Mario +Rabbids, though, I don't expect it would be announced by Ubisoft the night prior. I can't recall a time Nintendo allowed another company to announce a collaborative title using Nintendo IP, at least in recent memory. Hyrule Warriors for example was announced in a Nintendo Direct. Granted, in this case we're looking at one big IP from each company, but even still since Nintendo is the platform holder I expect this is where it will be announced.

Didn't the other one said that it will 'focus' on 2017 titles similar to how April Nintendo Direct focused on Arms & Splatoon?

And even with 14 minutes of Arms & Splatoon, they still managed to show 26 other titles in the remaining 19 minutes.

Yep, exactly. For Nintendo the phrase "focus on" has usually meant "mainly but not entirely."
