Please never try to get a job at 343

Frankie just made me the lead writer.

But for me Halo 4 is the first Halo game that I feel gave me the master chief I read about in Eric Nylund's novels. Master Chief has never been portrayed better. In halo 4 both he and Cortana were much better developed and more interesting than they ever were in previous Halo games, and I felt the game was all the better for it. No Halo title makes the Chief look more like a badass, and for someone like me who is really into the fiction, the characters and the universe, the little things 343i did with Halo has led to me enjoying the last 2 more than I've enjoyed all the others..

Yea, you have to respect the originators, but I think 343i's Halo titles are better. At least I've personally enjoyed them more.

Yo that train is looking great so far!

I think Xbox Series 2 is the only way they can add a 2 to the name without it being shit, but I doubt they'll do this. I guess we will know soon enough, but I would prefer Xbox One Ultra rather than just Xbox.
Xbox S...station
?

Must say, idiot decisions if they forced them to make only Halo game and that's why they departed.

Such a talented studio.
That's not why they left, they left because they wanted the money Halo makes.

That's why they locked themselves and pretty much gambled their company into Destiny so they can have a franchise as big or even bigger that they can own most of the profits from it after the initial contract with Activision expires.

Sorry for the delay, as always, when I decide to devote time to be social life also decides to throw a wrench my way.

Anyhow, I filled the first train!

If you have asked me to include you and you don't see yourself on here it's because I am reserving you for the next train. Trying to make all these random avatars look slightly decent when thrown together is a tougher job than you think lol.

Anyway, I'm working on the next train now, I'll try to get it posted tonight. HYPE!!!

Also, God bless those who have clear background PNG avatars. I may or may not have grabbed some without asking lol.
Hype Train is filling up nicely, cheers Vlaud.

Damn. Those Banjo hints from a few pages ago are getting to me! I've always vowed to not get my hopes up for any of Rare's older IPs to return this E3, but now if I don't see a new Banjo at the conference, I'll be so pissed haha

Can you imagine if after all these Banjo hints, Rare's second game turns out to just be Battletoads? Blehhh

I enjoyed my time with Destiny, though I didn't really dive into it until right before the year 2 DLC came out. Don't want to derail the thread with whether or not the game is good though because it is certainly polarizing subject on GAF.

Destiny went through development trouble but I'd like to think that a smart MS (Phil lead) would have given them the time and resources they needed to make the game a success. In any case I think most people believe MS was better for Bungie than Activision has been.

Thinking about how we could have Play Anywhere Destiny 2 on PC and Xbox with cross play hurts.
Yeah, I enjoyed my time with Destiny too (put like 1600 hours into it). I just think it's silly when people pretend like it's the "one that got away," since there was so much engineered hype around it due to its massive marketing push that just wouldn't exist if it wasn't for Activision (and Sony pretending like it was first party). But yeah, I think it would've been a better game, quality wise, under MS than Activision (just nowhere near as popular). Then again, despite their fuck ups, I think Halo is better off with 343 than Bungie at this point, but that's mainly me not trusting Bungie at all any more.

I can and I would be furious.

Not that a Battletoads announcement would be necessarily bad. It still would be interesting to see, but as someone who has never played any Battletoads game and as someone who has no attachment to the IP, I'd much rather see a new Banjo.

I mean, come on, at this point they owe us one, right? :p

EDIT: Also, don't forget to add Lanky Kong on to the hype train! He wants in too! Just a reminder :p

Shrennin

Didn't get the memo regarding the 14th Amendment
I believe I stated that in multiple threads they need to get rid of the One branding and they could do a trick to to that generationless console name.

I would be up for changing the branding to just "Xbox" and then, at least at the start, have the disclaimer on the box -- *plays Xbox One and select Xbox 360 titles

We gotta believe! No one knew KI3 was coming, the dream can happen again!

Not sure where else to ask this but it might be E3 related.

The Xbox store is letting me install a bunch of EA games for free right now. Is there a free EA Access trial going on? I don't see it mentioned anywhere and guessing it could be for E3. Or a glitch. Madden 17 and UFC 2 specifically but looks like there's more.

Its crazy that nothing leaked as of yet. No picture of the console.

Nothing leaks this box....nothing.
I'm very surprised but I really hope nothing does, it's actually nice to go into an E3 without knowing much at all, a rare thing nowadays I think.

Really guys? They aren't going to come out and confirm games on Twitter.

Regardless of whether the Halo: Gravemind is a fake or not. Regardless of whether Banjo is happening or Rare has another game at E3. They will not confirm it's existence over Twitter.

Rare didn't make Killer Instinct.

Just sayin'

The difference is KI was never any good in terms of mechanics and balance, so the new one benefited a lot from a team that actually knew how to make fighting games. Banjo NEEDS Gregg Mayles. I don't want another Yooka-Laylee.

They can just stay silent and not confirm or deny. Nobody asked Neate anything, it was his initiave to step in and try to prevent a disappointment.

Also, don't believe the lies in his don't believe his lies avatar. I'm sure he's been using it for months, it means nothing. Let's just accept reality and move on.

Well, Studio Gobo is based in the UK and worked on the Disney Infinity games. So they at least have a grounding in platforming and collect-a-thon gameplay.

Could be Microsoft have them making a Banjo game?

Fucking dammit. I'm so disappointed. If Joe Neate is telling the truth and not just fucking with us, of course. It's not disappointing just because Banjo won't be there, but also because Rare will once again have absolutely nothing else besides SoT at E3. Not even something like Battletoads. It's going to just be a repeat of last year. Ugh.

Unless of course this means that a different studio could be handling a Rare IP, but I'm not going to get my hopes up about that either.

What will be the excuse for this one?

Rare is probably just waking up to the mess they've made and are trying to put the fire out.

I'm not too familiar with those games but they seemed kinda bad from what I've played of 3.0. Can't say much, but it was enough for me to be skeptical about anything they might do with Banjo.

Or there is a middle ground. I'm neither optimistic nor pessimistic about Rare having more than one title this year. I am however going in with an open mind to the entire conference and hope to be pleasantly surprised.

Yeah, but nobody believed me when I said that their initial comment was just about a longer SoT demonstration. SoT is their only game in full production, and based on how that one will perform on the market, we can probably be lucky if there'll be a Rare game after that.
