Nintendo Spotlight Presentation (their E3 conference) to be 30 Minutes in length

He said Spotlight will be fast-paced, and will feature a number of first looks and reveals.

He said there were going to be a number of reveals, first looks, etc, and would be fast paced. Nothing he said implied one game would take up nearly half the time

Yeah, I know, and that's why I think it's fine for MO to take 10 min, if those 15 min has pace of the April direct. They can easily show another 8~9 games.

Odyssey's going to get a 3-minutes-at-most trailer then have hours of footage and details in the Treehouse. There's no way it can be otherwise.

im still waiting on hearstone tbh. since day one of the switch annoucment. boggles my mind how this is not on switch because its literarly the perfect console for it

Oh, totally forgot about that but yeah, would be a perfect fit for the system.

Kinda off topic. Do you need to play xenoblade to enjoy xenoblade 2? Thinking about buying a switch for this

We really don't know yet. Xenoblade itself is a standalone story with a definitive ending, though it wouldn't be terribly difficult to imagine how a sequel set in the same world could happen. Xenoblade X doesn't follow the original game in a super explicit manner, but it does make enough references and gestures to suggest that it is something that might have happened in the very distant past.

I would assume that this will also be somewhat standalone, but I wouldn't be surprised if it does wind up making some more overtly explicit links than X did.

I just want the Treehouse to actually bring a treehouse this year, but noooooo, year after year they just sit on chairs on the goddamn floor.

Wouldn't it be awesome if for the next
Fucking
Donkey Kong Country they actually rip out a piece of the carpeting on stage and are like, "You see that little thing sticking out on the floor? Well, we've been secretly planting banana trees like this one all over the E3 area for the past 6 months! Get hype it's on the eShop now."

Everyone watching:

where did i say nothing else intressts him? He is playing disgaea atm.. Just said that its a worthless effort to count big first party titles from nintendo and pretend everyone who has a switch should be intressted

Fair enough. Though I'm not quite sure why anyone would buy a Nintendo console if they aren't interested in the majority of the first party output coming.

I would like:
Mario Odyssey gameplay - not much, but some. I'm already sold.
ARMS - DLC stuff shown for July
Splatoon 2 - SP trailer
Animal Crossing Switch
Pikmin 4 - maybe but with Hey! Pikmin! coming, probably not
Metroid - doubt it but I'll always cling to it
Mario Maker port - I absolutely think this is perfect for Switch
Star Fox Zero port - yup, try again but fix the controls
Zelda DLC full reveal (both packages)

I'll be cool with some indies as well. I am not expecting much. With Zelda, ARMS, Mario Kart, Splatoon 2, and Odyssey, I am more than happy with my Switch already.

I'd hate to be a Nintendo fan like you who doesn't like Xenoblade. Such a boring gaming world to live in. Your Switch library will look incomplete and mediocre without it.

I think Project Mekuru will be released on the day of the Nintendo Spotlight/Treehouse for the west. (It's already out in Japan.)

Of course not, stating such a thing is pretty dumb. Just wanted to say for people not into games like that switch line up looks pretty barren. I meant that it show how much third party matters to how rich libary, sry was not clear on that.

I see. I believe the post that started it was something along the lines that Nintendo should have waited to release Switch because they had no content ready.

I'd hate to be a Nintendo fan that pesters every Tom, Dick, and Harry that doesn't care about Xenoblade.

I feel like they're gonna Announce during the Spotlight and Expand during Treehouse, but that'd be too logical for Nintendo. So they'll probably mix and match

Yes they won't do the thing they've been doing for like the last two E3s. Because fuck facts, only mindless gloom and doom.

I guess I've never really associated myself as a typical Nintendo fan who just buys into Mario and Zelda and whatever else looks like it fits into Nintendo's image or had Miyamoto breath on it.

If you have a Switch and you're interested in all the first-party Nintendo games except Xenoblade then you simply have something wrong with you. Without Xenoblade 2 in your Switch library, it'll just look incomplete and mediocre. Xenoblade 2 will undoubtedly be one of the best games on Switch so get it together.

My expectations for this are at an all time low for some reason. Just give me one good surprise Nintendo. And by that I mean a MHXX localization announcement.

Only 25 minutes long now? I guess they're going to breeze through trailer after trailer.

I'm guessing it will basically be one long string of trailers like they had at multiple points in the MS conference.

Alright guys! Xbox One X is too pricey for me this year so my full gaming budget goes towards Switch now. We have any leaks or teases about the spotlight?

People just have different tastes, man. Don't classify every 'typical Nintendo fan' as someone who likes Mario and Zelda, and that everyone needs to like Xenoblade. That's just being too narrowminded. Just let it go.

Yeah. I expect Reggie to spin things positive, whether they are or not, but fast-paced and number of reveals and first looks sounds like there will be plenty of games covered and some surprises.

And Reggie confirmed first looks.

I wonder if we'll ever get another E3 like 2010 from Nintendo. Their last one that was really great I think. Feel like they could have really used one like that this year, but keeping my expectations very low given the short presentation and recent E3's from them.

At least Mario should be great, looking forward to that at least.

Man I really hope we get release dates for Owlboy, Overcooked, Hollow Knight and Stardew Valley, at the very least. It's cool that we know they're coming but I want to have solid dates.

It's Nintendo bias. Nintendo fans are indoctrinated into thinking Nintendo games need to look a certain way and all play like Miyamoto games or they're not Nintendo games and then they don't try the game out because of this or show no interest in it. The mainstream gaming media runs with this preconceived notion, too.

Disgusting.

Can't wait for the new trailer to really knock people off their feet. None of you know what's coming.

Honestly I'm not interested at all in Xenoblade 2. Part of it is that I don't like the designs of the new characters and how much of a departure it is. (even if there is less creepy doll face) The other part is that I was so incredibly let down by X that I don't know if the game we get ends up like that or the original Xenoblade Chronicles.

If the game's reception is like the first Xenoblade then yeah I'm in since that was one of my favorite games on the Wii. Otherwise... eeeeeeeeehhhh

I like Xenoblade but this is reaching creep levels.

Xenogears is better.

Given that it's called Xenoblade 2 I would expect them to be going for something more like that game rather than what they tried with X.

Would be pretty cool to have Diablo 3 announced for the Switch.

Diablo 3 is one of the games I want Nintendo to get a 3rd party to bring over.

I don't know what to hope for from 3rd parties because what I mainly want is ports of games that's been out for awhile like Diablo 3 and Skyrim. I'm not even going to ever expect for the Switch to get day one port of games like the other consoles. So I'll leave it up to 3rd parties and Nintendo to surprise me and gey me to open my wallet.

In this lull between press conferences, I might as well post my spotlight predictions.

-After two decades of experimentation, Super Mario Odyssey finally allows two player co-op in a sandbox Mario adventure.

-Pac-Man Maker is another Nintendo-led Pac-Man game in the vein of Pac-Man Vs.

-Good-Feel is working on a new 2D Donkey Kong game with help from Retro. This is not Retro's big project, which may or may not be announced.

-Konami and Nintendo will team up yet again to revive an old property. Castlevania? Too safe. Silent Hill.

-Suddenly, Platinum Games.

-Bonus Ubisoft Prediction: Miyamoto will reveal himself during the unveiling of Mario and Rabbids Kingdom Battle.

-Bonus Treehouse Live Prediction: Shadow drop of Mother 3. The localized title has some variation of the word "end" in it.

Xenoblade Chronicles is one of the best JRPGs ever made, and I don't hesitate to compare it with FFIX, Chrono Trigger, etc. It's a masterpiece in every sense of the word. I rewatch its cutscenes and listen to its OST regularly.

Your post is pretty goddamn embarrassing.

I tried playing Xenogears and I honestly don't think it works well as an actual video game personally. Like, the camera was awful, the world and dungeon design was confusing and samey and really needed to let you have dungeon maps all the time instead of in only a few places, and the battle system while cool in concept honestly felt really lacking in depth to me
