If you have a Switch and you're interested in all the first-party Nintendo games except Xenoblade then you simply have something wrong with you. Without Xenoblade 2 in your Switch library, it'll just look incomplete and mediocre. Xenoblade 2 will undoubtedly be one of the best games on Switch so get it together.

Xenoblade Chronicles is one of the best JRPGs ever made, and I don't hesitate to compare it with FFIX, Chrono Trigger, etc. It's a masterpiece in every sense of the word. I rewatch its cutscenes and listen to its OST regularly.

Given that it's called Xenoblade 2 I would expect them to be going for something more like that game rather than what they tried with X.

I think its promising that the developers are reacting to how people were disappointed with X and are going back to the style of the first game. The initial reveal didn't show much to get excited over though so I'm still pretty ho-hum on Xenoblade games. Hopefully E3 changes that!

I tried playing Xenogears and I honestly don't think it works well as an actual video game personally. Like, the camera was awful, the world and dungeon design was confusing and samey and really needed to let you have dungeon maps all the time instead of in only a few places, and the battle system while cool in concept honestly felt really lacking in depth to me

Completely agree about the dungeon design. Sometimes I would literally be wandering for hours in identical looking hallways.

The story had me completely hooked though, so I looked past some faults. Definitely one of my favorite stories in the medium.
