An interview mentioned Cleopatra is in the game.
didn't catch that
then yeah, period is the same

*sigh*
Enemy AI is still as brain dead as ever.
On another note, the demo guy took some significant fall damage just from jumping off that tree and not rolling:
that threshold for fall damage seems much much lower than in Unity and Syndicate....man this game really IS inspired by TW3
I really love the setting and I thought the trailer was exciting but I doubt I will buy it.
After the syndicate twins I was really hoping that the whole male/female things was the way forward.
I really don't want to go back to just a man.
And I wished the time period was earlier. It is a shame that they took the most western time period.
This way they can easily plug it with a Rome setting, in the next entry, while keeping the character, I think it's a smart choice.I really love the setting and I thought the trailer was exciting but I doubt I will buy it.

I think you are expecting to much perfection from Ubisoft. I am glad they are changing a bunch of things and we shall see if it becomes good enough.
Sudan is right to the south of Egypt, that is the ancient Nubia, and they were often at war but there was also trade, and Nubians were in Egypt as traders, just living there and of course as slaves. So if the bad guys of the game are the Pharaohs, the MC being a Nubian makes sense. He looked black african not even Egyptian
I could see them allowing us to create our own "Desmond"There's a second playable character, they just haven't announced who they are yet.
I'm personally hoping it's a "create your own character" that can be male or female.
I feel they should have given us a glimpse of their best city in their 5 minute gameplay. This was just a small village and a very straightforward assassination mission.
People were expecting something beautiful, new and different.Maybe an in-game cutscene before starting the demo or something.
I liked what I saw but it felt like a MGSV sidemission.
Bayek is the last of the Medjay, a Nubian order of warriors who served as agents of the pharaohs for

Also there should be another playable Character they're keeping secret, and a rumor said it was a woman.
There's still a chance.
Why on earth would we need another game set in Rome? Brotherhood was just fine.
It's kinda funny because the cutscene was phenomenal and when it switched to gameplay, the first thing that came to my mind is "Yup, that's an AC game". I don't know, it's like my hype immediately evaporated after seeing the game in action.
Yeah same thing. I thought they took a timeout to rethink AC. But it's just the same game.
expecting them to have animation thats not well below average for a big budget game is too much?
i'll play the game but was stil expecting something more groundbreaking for a game that took so many years to cook in the oven
I think once the controller's in our hands and we can fully realise the scope of the world and the game systems, we won't be complaining.
The last AC game this ambitious was probably 3, and it looks like they've learnt a lot from that and are keeping it tauter, more focused, while still trying to boost the envelope.
I'm so happy to find out his Nubian. People usually talk about the Arabs and Greeks in Ancient Egypt, but rarely Nubians.
Renaissance Rome is a very different place to Ancient Rome. That's akin to asking why you'd want a game set in Middle Ages England when we've already had Victorian London.
Wouldn't have to be Rome itself, as much as the Roman Empire. Why on earth would we need another game set in Rome? Brotherhood was just fine.
The idea is you do one big expensive game, and another one, corollary, lower budget since you can reuse assets and material.Yea I know that. Still, it's not going to be as intriguing as an entirely new setting. We're only just getting Egypt and Greece with the next two entries, plenty of interesting places still left to explore before they should consider a return to Rome.

Since they moved away from the "one title a year" model though, maybe that rumor is dead now.
Or it could be expansions.
The "Empire Trilogy" will cover the entire formation of Assassins and Templars. Will not necessarily continue the characters if they are not received well, however they do have plans in place to continue either way. Will not return to annualization instead will have the major expansions.
When I read the leaked info of GameInformer, I was expecting something a little bit more different.
But I liked it anyway. No doubt they changed many things, including the combat. And that's great to hear! They have my interest.
Need to see more gameplay though, I didn't like how the main chacarter "slided" when fighting that enemy in the presentation. It was too floaty. The combat besides improved didn't feel like it was that good either; but that was only 1 encounter, and only against 1 enemy. I need to see more.
The removal of the mini-map and eagle vision is a huge deal alone. Then there's the weapon upgrades/rare weapons, RPG-esque level up system. There's a lot of stuff going on, but it's mostly subtle and difficult to show off in such a short video.
I believe there will be more in their conference tomorrow. One at a time!
This doesn't make sense in lore! The Assassins and Templars have been around since the Human-Isu War 70,000 years ago! That's one rumour:
Expandalones a la Freedom Cry but larger in scope, I'd presume.
Edit: But I don't think it's accurate. We know the Gold Edition carries a $30 premium versus the Digital Deluxe Edition ($70 -> $100), which just includes some in-game items, and I'd be legitimately shocked if Ubi were so heavily inspired by The Witcher 3 that it felt compelled to offer a Season Pass that could be considered too generous.
Edit edit: Actually, that is $10 more than the difference between Far Cry 5's aforementioned editions ($70 -> $90). Consider me slightly less sceptical.
Something I really hope they have in here is super tough enemies/areas that you'll even struggle with even at endgame/when you have the best gear.
Even in Unity and Syndicate, which had way better enemy/difficulty balance than any of the other games, after 10-15 hours you were just overpowered and steamrolled everything.
It would be great to see the return of the 'Templars' like in AC1 - the secret enemies who were the toughest in the game and you really had to play careful to take them down.
Im all for giving the player more options but Im curious how/if the modern element/animus will play into this. Seems like the depth of the RPG/loot/upgrade system will run counter to the goal of whatever theyre using the animus for this time. Perhaps thats the payoff to the literal gamification of the system in the BF/Unity/Syndicate era.
Love this little things.
