Same here. I woke up early and did some of the new MSQ's before having to get ready for work. Kind of glad as it's been a pain to progress at the part where you need to just kill two friggen mobs.
At least happy enough to get a nice little head start for when I get home later today.
I was a little confused about the role abilities when I looked at them.
You get 5 as a job, but 10 as a class.
Are people running around tanking as gladiator after paladin is unlocked?
My only 60 is a dark knight so it's a moot point in my case, but I did find it perplexing.

HW launch was largely fine; I think larger servers had some issues and got the field instancing we started off with, but I don't remember instance servers crapping out.
It's largely aggravating because everything is so MSQ-gated, and they stuck a solo instance super early in the MSQ. You can't, like, say fuckit and go craft because the MSQ blocks gathering in areas too. The longer it's down, the worse the backlog is gonna get.
The stat gains and extra abilities (and gear) from equipping a job crystal far outweigh having a few extra utility spells.
Classes are next on the chopping block so that'll go too, just so you don't have random idiots queuing as archer because, and this literally happened to me, "bard is gay".

New Bard is more fun to play than I'd hoped, all these instant Empyreal Arrows are glorious. Can't wait to hit 70.
Playing around on the new omega server, brings a wee tear to the eye too see the low level areas so busy.
Oh and the double exp bonus also applies to quest exp, so you can focus allot more on the story quests and less on the busywork standard quests while levelling.

I wanted to unlock the new jobs first, but found out that a friend of mine was having trouble so I switch to MSQ, and that wasn't much of a respite either.
Will someone hit 70 in the early access period? There were some level 62 characters running around before the servers were up for an hour this morning.
I really like how the Bard songs work now.
Army's Paeon seems like where you want to get your Raging Strikes (and thus Barrage+Empyreal Arrow in) - the recast speed buff lets you squeeze more stuff in while Raging is up.
Minuet is basically a game of chicken. Always use Pitch Perfect once you hit 3 stacks, but as the timer on Minuet runs down, you want to wait until the last second to get off your last Pitch Perfect if it's not at 3 yet juuuust in case.
Then Mage's is basically just old, spam-Bloodletter Bard. It feels like the proc rate is way higher, because I feel like Bloodletter and Rain of Death proc all the damn time in Mage's. I'm thinking it may be a DPS increase to cut Mage's short to go back to Army's, though? My general song rotation has been Paeon -> Minuet -> Ballad, but Paeon and Raging Strikes (whose timers line up perfectly) come back up a bit before Ballad is over, so I've been cutting Ballad short.

Bloodletter resets more because it resets on any crit as opposed to the old 50% chance.
Unless they make the march to 70 way worse than HW, you should see people at 70 within the first, like, day.

You never needed the disc to play the others. As far as I know as long as the relevant expansion codes are assigned to your active account that's all that matters.
Hello veteran GAF players, noobie here who wants to come back in with a fresh start and stuff.
I got the base game and heavensword last year at a discount and played the free trial, i loved what I played but had no time to actually continue playing it consecutively. Now, I want to give it a good run.
Do I need to buy Stormblood immediately for the changes or wait till i'm at that part of the story?
Is White Mage valuable anymore or is something changing to make the class less useful?

Well what is it really. Because the internet as a whole can't come to a conclusion. This is beyond confusing.
Requiscat significantly boosts clemency/holy spirit if you use it when you're above 80% MP.

Can someone please answer if the new jobs put a ! on the map? I'm beginning to think maybe I don't have the Stormblood license and its not showing up, but when I check mogstation it says I have early access.

I couldn't help but laugh at seeing that "issues have been alleviated" message up while standing at the MSQ instance with like 100 other people failing to get in
I don't have Stormblood yet but they showed up on the map for me when I went to Ul'dah.

They do. SAM quest is literally in front of the Uldah Aetheryte, RDM quest is in the Uldah market.
