How legit is CDKEYS really? Ive never bought anything from them, but they've got Prey + DLC for 219 nok aka 25 USD, was 285 previously for some time and then 245 before that again.

http://www.cdkeys.com/pc/games/prey-pc

I don't think it's gonna get any cheaper during Steam summer sale next week.

I buy most of my PC games from CDKeys and haven't had a single problem, and their support is REALLY fast too if you want a refund for pre-order etc.
Their Facebook page has additional 5% coupon, just enter random email and you get it.

Well, the link wasn't filtered away, and people have been linking to cdkeys from time to time. So I guess it's somewhat legit

IO Interactive goes fully independent and owns the Hitman IP going forward

Great! Hitman lives on!

Apparently I can't buy it on CDKEYS anyway. As soon as I press "BUY NOW" it loads up a page saying the cart is empty.

Shopping Cart is Empty
You have no items in your shopping cart.

lol

Hm... The only wait it'll be cheaper during the summer sale is if it's over 30% off on Steam.

Decisions...

Prey will definitely (most likely (probably)) hit $25 USD over the sale, somewhere.

But it absolutely (most likely (probably)) will not hit that for Prey + DLC.

So... Where are they getting the money? Making something as polished as Hitman needs a lot of cash, they ain't getting that going independent.

Yeah this is what I'm wondering cos from the statement it sounds that they've had to buy themselves out from under SE too, which I can't imagine is cheap obv.

Yeah, thanks, incognito works, but do I have to be logged in to check if the FB 5% coupon works? Cause so far it doesn't work.

Have you tried to login to FB in incognito mode?

If Incognito mode works, then it is an addon that is conflicting. How about turn off adblocker?

Lol, there's a scene at the beginning of the first one where NPCs are supposed to not have faces. If that's still the case later into the game then it'd be definitely a bug, but make sure you're not talking about that specific scene.
Oh yeah right! I think it's in the start when there's a group of people around you and they are faceless, maybe that's what I was thinking about. So no problems.

I've recently replayed AC1 halfway through op Uplay and I haven't really come across any technical problems. In fact, visually it still looks pretty damn amazing all things considered, especially if you downsample it from 4K. However, it's the gameplay that has made it age less gracefully, especially compared to later entries.

That said, I wouldn't recommend you 100%ing it. If you do that, the repetitiveness is going to kill you and sour the experience. Without treading into spoiler territory, do the required three assignments per mission and then continue.

AC II is still the best. And to a somewhat lesser extent followed by Brotherhood.
This is good to hear. I got it on Steam but I take it that is the Uplay version and it'll start up uplay automatically.

Well I can't even if I want to buy it from CDKEYS. The cart doesn't work.

Their website acts odd. Try buying via Opera or another browser.
In my case it tries to load verified by visa link to finalize the payment but then the website hangs.

Yeah, got it to work in incognito in Chrome and in Edge (no incognito). The FP coupon can only be used when logged in, got it down to 208 NOK. Costs 500 NOK on Steam.

I'm done with Dawn of War 3, and when i clicked to uninstall game through Steam it suddenly redirected to this survey:

Huh, i didn't know you can do that, add redirect after uninstall to Steam games.

Continuing from the previous post on this I've downloaded the earlier version of MGSV but having difficulties fixing the following error from the game after launch:

Code:
Save data version and game version are different.
Sign in to Steam and download the latest game version.
Exiting game...

Tried deleting the existing save files/user settings directory, which created a new one on launch and the same message. Also tried editing the appmanifest file to match the exact same build ID and manifest ID as the one I downloaded, but it displays the same message and after exiting it reverts the changes back to match the previous version of the game I had installed (despite having moved those files).

Edit: additionally adjusted the LastUpdated timestamp to the correct steamdb date for that version using the appropriate Unix timestamp format. Also tried old backup saves I had from the same game version. Still the same result.

So it seems the Steam client is communicating with the game and telling it something outside of what I'm doing perhaps? I'm launching via the game's own executable though. Any ideas?

Update: found what was causing the problem, thankfully.

Is this just the preorder DLC? (pointless weapon skin ect.) or is there real DLC for prey?

No clue. The product description would lead me to believe it's probably just the shitty preorder stuff.

I think they've said on record that they are definitely going to do DLC for the game.

But who knows. They're probably hard at work at the 6th, 7th and 8th remaster-repackage-resell Skyrim.

So I am completing all badges that cost $0.15 cents or less to complete based on what I have in my inventory to collect summer badges. I am guessing I should wait before crafting summer badge though right? I forget what they give us and the sale hasnt started.

For anybody that has played Metro: Last Light:

Survival Ranger Hardcore, should you see the hand icon for interacting? Holding tab shows the secondary items UI, is that normal?

I ask because in metro 2033 redux survival ranger hardcore you can't see any of those.

On the subject of preventing old versions of games from auto-updating, found that manually editing the StateFlags value to 4 in the corresponding appmanifest file tells Steam that a game is fully up-to-date. See full list of values here.

No more worrying that a particular game will be automatically updated (when launching via the executable rather than Steam itself, mind). I'll see how this plays out in practice. Edit: doesn't detect updates when launched. Nice.

Changing the value of the flag is actually unnecessary, in part because it'll just be updated when Steam refreshes the apps in your library, which it does every five minutes, and does detect an update. Primarily, though, while setting a game to only update when launched will result in the client reporting "Update required" when a patch has been detected, launching the executable outside of Steam won't trigger the download, regardless of whether it's tethered to the client. Setting the manifest file to read-only would probably stop Steam from changing the value, but, again, there's no need to do so.

Been half an hour and a couple restarts of the Steam client while in online mode and it hasn't detected an update, nor has the value changed. *Shrug* Guess I'll see over the course of the week.

The reason for changing the value is so it's not in my to-be-downloaded section, ready to be accidentally queued for downloading. Should this be effective it's a great little tweak.

If the information in the manifest file is current, then, yeah, Steam won't detect an update because it's being fooled into thinking the old game data is up-to-date (it doesn't examine the actual game data unless you opt to verify the cache). It'd detect a new update, though.

The appmanifest details (last updated date/build id/manifest id) are from 2015, so they're rather old actually.
