I dont get it, are there any proofs that this is really from Joss?
And why are people saying that this sounds like Joss, I thought he was always seens as a pretty feministic writer? Its all a bit confusing for me right now.
It's not just that, there are loads more snippets here. Wonder Woman being constantly objectified and berated doesn't make for a feminist story. That's some cornball dialogue typical of joss but what do you expect of a villainous drug dealer antagonist? I don't really see the problem there tbh
Maybe he just didn't like the era of sexism that it was. Maybe he is more into contemporary sexism.Joss commenting on Jurassic World:
...well, she was one of SHIELDs best killersLet me tell you about Black Widow and how shes a barren monster just like the Hulk
Let me tell you about Black Widow and how shes a barren monster just like the Hulk
Good for you that he has like zero influence on JL beside a handful of reshots that were colloborated with Zack Snyder. If this was indeed approved by Whedon then I'm now very worried about Wonder Woman's depiction in Justice League and everything concerning Batgirl.
Yeah, it's not surprising. At the very least he's shown a staggering lack of self-awareness on the issue over the years.Lol at people who can't believe Whedon would write this. You remember what he did to Black Widow, right?
😂😂😂😂
Joss Whedon has always seemed a fake feminist like that Devin Faraci.
After the childless monster shit in Avengers?
"wicked sexy"
In his defense on that particular scene, it's not Joss's fault that everyone takes that line out of context and intentionally ignores what Nat's actually saying.
I'll probably be disappointed, me more than anybody else, because I'll be like, 'Wow, my version...' or whatever
After the childless monster shit in Avengers?
It's been clarified over and over again that this is not the case. And even, if despite all that you still want to interpret the scene like this at least acknowledge that it wasn't written with that intention.Let me tell you about Black Widow and how shes a barren monster just like the Hulk
Would people consider the hospital argument scene with Steve and Wonder Woman from the 2009 animated series as a further example of "mansplaining"? Not challenging anyone or attempting to dismiss the validity of the phrase, just not hugely familiar with the term and how people instinctively manage to define it. Does it purely revolve around consension in tone?
He's doing Batgirl, ya know.
Didn't know Joss Whedon was a foot fetishist.
Are peole really attacking this guy over something 11 years old?
They really should have cut that line out since they cut out the reason she said it in the first place. In deleted scenes the Toad's catch phrase was "do you know what happens when a Toad *insert action*?" through the entire movie. Her line was a punchline that now no longer has any meaning.Do you know what happens to a toad when its struck by lightning? The same thing that happens to everything else.
Yeah, it's mentioned in the article, the OP and three times after that.
What is THIS from?
...well, she was one of SHIELDs best killers
And there was a "We are all monster" theme in the movie.
It's been clarified over and over again that this is not the case. And even, if despite all that you still want to interpret the scene like this at least acknowledge that it wasn't written with that intention.
I'm being sarcastic. Don't reply.
