I looked up that bounty poster thing from Chapter 77 Greg mentioned in the video and found it:

You have to zoom in to see it, but it is indeed there.

Upper-left: Rayleigh? - Middle: Fisher Tiger? - Bottom-right: Robin?

The guy in the middle also looks a LOT like Fisher Tiger (Greg says it's Krieg, but I would think it would match his actual bounty poster if that's the case considering we've seen Krieg's poster before the poster in this panel). Some mindblowing shit right there.

Did Oda get struck by lightning and had a 20 year long story in his mind when he woke up? The hell is up with that guy? Pure genius.
They probably were just random characters at that point...right? Right?

I just started watching the anime from the beginning this week and haven't read any of the books, but I still wanted to pop in and say that the thread title made me laugh really hard. So kudos for that!

You should read bakuman, it goes into detail about stuff like that in manga.

Ooo now I see what ray was talking about lol at orange town now, Shushu lol I always use that name not Chouchou(thought you was talking about boruto for a second)

Why are people shocked by the Rayleigh poster?

We actually saw him in a flashback well before that from Buggy.

I think the explanation behind the "Goda" stuff is simply that he had an outline for a story in mind, but ended up taking much, MUCH longer to get there than he anticipated. So stuff he originally planned out ended up getting introduced way later, as seen in those posters, the mention of Jimbei and locations like Impel Down, characters like the Admirals being mentioned way before they show up, etc. So little tiny details like this end up looking more amazing than they are when you realize he probably intended to show them much sooner.

I'm not downplaying the fact that he's good at foreshadowing, because he absolutely is. He loves to drop hints and pick them up later, sometimes too much (like the stuff with Drake in the Corazon flashback). It's always cool, but sometimes makes the story feel unfocused and bloated. He's certainly a very ambitious author and is one of the best at delivering on the checks he cashes, though, so I'm not complaining too much about it.

One Piece Anime Gets 'Episode of East Blue' Special on August 26

The issue is also revealing the main visual, which features Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, and Sanji. The issue states that the anime will be a completely new work, featuring reanimated scenes from the beginning of the series through when the crew enters the Grand Line.

The special is commemorating the manga's 20th anniversary, and will also feature anime versions the original manga's chapter cover stories, although the issue doesn't state which one(s) will be animated. Additionally, the special will feature a special 20th anniversary commemoration version of the original opening theme song "We Are!".

Are they going to be able to cram all of that shit into a 2 hour episode? They should really do it in parts imo.

Unless it's going to be some type of animated recap of those events or something.

I would love TOEI to reanimate One Piece in an OVA series in the "Episode Of" style but do it in 40 minute episodes.

Not surprising, but it also confirms that they'll be going for the more modern angular style instead of recreating East Blue's round outlines with big eyes and big foreheads.

They redrawn stuff for those specials? I though they were a quick video edit of the anime.

Even more meh then, I like the early artstyle.

That special is weird because they already had an Arlong special. lol

The "Episode of" specials are nice to watch when you just want to relive the vibe of those arcs without sitting down for hours.
