Zelda Breath of The Wild 1.3.0 Patch is out!

The game would be stupidly easy if nothing broke.

You could literally just rush to Hyrule Castle, sneak around for 5 minutes, warp out and completely destroy the entire game with unbreakable late game weapons

At least make the weapons and shields repairable. The stronger the weapon the harder it's to fix it.

By the time you're at a level where you're finding all the stronger weapons, you can just find replacements from treasure chests that much easier.

What about the gear you get after beating every dungeon? I never found a replacement for these and they look cool *_*

You're going to find so many weapons that you are going to want them to break so you can pick fresh ones.

Yeah, this. I get neat stuff all the time and have to throw away perfectly good weapons. I can't find that fat dancing guy anywhere, the one who gives you slot upgrades. I got so many poo seeds already...

I love playing the game in Pro mode, it feels so nice. I have no idea what I'm supposed to do but that doesn't matter. I climb the highest peaks and take all the fruits and mushrooms I can find. Then I spend an hour cooking them all. So many recipes!

Ask me about the moon landing or the temperature at which jet fuel burns. You may be surprised at what you learn.
All these people complaining about breaking weapons whereas I had the opposite problem: too many weapons. I was getting so many weapons that I always had to stop to throw away the weaker ones to make space.

Regarding weapon breaking, imo the
Master sword
should definitely NOT break.

I mean come on....it should be like the end game reward getting that and then you have a weapon that you can depend on and not have to worry about breaking.

It doesn't break....

There wouldn't be much reason to use the breakable weapons you collect and would make things too easy and boring imo.. When you play the game long enough you'll have weapons with a lot of duration that will take a while to break also and kind of defeats the purpose of what much of the game is about.

The only weapons I wouldn't mind see being unbreakable are some of the bows because arrows are limited. Like a phenric bow that does like 20-30 damage would be nice.

And then every other weapon across the width and breadth of the game becomes worthless to the player, no matter how much time you spend playing after you obtain it.

It's pointless to use other weapons if it didn't break.

This game doesn't work design wise if weapons don't break. I dunno why this is such a crazy thing to accept. Why would you use any other weapon?

Its power diminishes and needs a cooldown although it doesn't break, but honestly I agree with you—though I doubt many others will. The master sword should be qualitatively different from other weapons, and it would be a cool way of doing it. I would still use other weapons since it only has 30 damage normally and by the time you get it, finding better weapons is trivial. But it would have been a way to make the master sword a real "sword of legend" in a world where everything breaks down so easily.

It is. It recovers, it's throw is a beam, and it's power changes depending on where you are/what you're fighting. You guys just aren't satisfied with those differences, but that doesn't negate them

Don't see the problem with that. Not like you needed a bunch of different weapons in the old Zelda games.

That's true. There are certainly differences already. But I guess I'm just not sold on the degradation system in general, even though it works fine for what it is. I just thought it would be cool if part of your reward for finding the master sword was not having to deal with degradation.

I don't recall being able to switch weapons with the ZL and ZR before, this might be new. Maybe.

New Switch owner here, do updates automatically download or do I have to manually start them? When I downloaded Zelda yesterday I had to also initialize the update myself after. Thanks!

I seriously don't get how some people think having one unbreakable weapon would somehow diminish the game.

What does having breakable weapons do aside from forcing the player to constantly switch/try new weapons?

By the time you get the Master Sword you will have tried a ton of different weapons/types.

Being able to use one weapon that didn't break isn't going to suddenly break the game.

You can't even sell weapons or anything so no exploit/money thing, the only thing is let you use the weapon and not have to constantly switch weapons, which is more of a player choice then anything game breaking.

Can't even boot the game up on Wii U after downloading the DOC, it tells me I need to download a system update, only the system update option tells me my system is up to date. Great.

They do download automatically. But I don't know what the interval is set to for the Switch to check if anything's new. Might be quicker to just check manually when it's a hotly anticipated update like this.

You have one unbreakable weapon.
