I've seen the XD8305 mentioned a few times here. Anyone actually got one?
I have one.

I have one.
You like it? I'm close to getting one. Do you have a Pro?
I just bought X800E. Any suggestion to setting TV to use with PS4 Pro or I can follow 800D guideline ? Thanks.
I do have a Pro.
I do really like the TV the only advice I would give is to lower the black level from 50 to 35-40 depending how bright your room is.
Hdr works amazingly and they recently just added hlg hdr in the most recent update.
The only negative I would say is that the native YouTube app doesn't support hdr yet.
Sounds good. I'll write that black level advice down, thanks.

Awesome. Let me know what you think if you get it.
Is it the 49" one? That's the one I have.
Don't. I did this thinking it helped but you will lose a ton of near black details because your blacks will be crushed. If you want to help with black levels without crushing or washing them out, raise or lower gamma setting.
Ever since the update my TV has been turning itself on at random times.
Not the same TV at all even with it being the successor in name.
The X800E has an IPS panel which gives you wider viewing angles but terrible contrast mainly because of terrible blacks. But since the picture quality isn't all that great in the first place then the wide viewing angles doesn't really matter in the end.
The X800D has a VA panel which gives you way better contrast but you sacrifice viewing angles for superior picture quality. If you can find this TV, return the one you have and get this instead.
My message still stands. It will make the blacks appear dark but you will essentially lose near black details by lowering it that much.I forgot to add this is just when using hdr when the backlight is at max.
Only the 43 has a VA panel for x800d. If you use a backlight on the back of the 49 if you like the whole pitch dark room thing it's fine. In a room with lights on an IPS panel is fine.

youre losing black detail by lowing the black level.
the default seting doesnt add or subtract any black. thats how it should be
you think that youre getting a washed out display in hdr because the brightness ramps to max (as it should do)
so you compensate by lowering black and thus defeat any benefits from hdr.

I tried and i failed : ( So, i guess i must stick with this one. So, if anyone have any idea about how to set it up(X800E) will be very appreciate.
or which time of the year Sony usually introduce a new successor ? If that is not that far maybe i will return mine and trust my luck and wait for X800F which i think it will happen sooner or later.
Is chromecast ultra the only way to get YouTube hdr?
Have the 49" model and HDR looks like crap : way too dark.
Am I doing something wrong ? Tried Andromeda and Nex Machina and they look way better in SDR.
Tried it with a PC (1080ti).
You have the worse version since it is a IPS panel. The 43" is the only good one in this model line since it is a VA panel. If you don't mind going smaller, get this one instead.
This is a bit hyperbolic. The 49 inch is still a great set. My HDR in mass effect is fantastic on the ps4 pro, as with other HDR content. I don't know about pc though. Seems it needs more tweaking etc to work properly.
I understand you want to validate your purchase and/or are easily impressed, but IPS panels have way worse contrast ratio than your average VA panel. IPS panels are usually around 1000:1 on average while VA panels are about 3000:1 minimum.
IPS vs VA

Eh, the 43" isn't anything to write home about for Andromeda HDR. I always prefer VA over IPS. But it isn't as bad as you're making it out to be. HDR is also more reliant on the nit brightness. Really bright rooms might be an issue but darker rooms,or evening time is fine. Those with IPS panels can also get bias lighting behind to offset some of the issues.

After my previous message was posted I sold it online. Going for the higher end 49" or Oled.
Is there a dedicated 4k HDR TV Thread? When I searched all I found was this one and a thread about budget 4K TV's and a PS4 Pro.
Hmm.... i don't see the TV in amazon.de
Look for Sony KD-55XD8005
This is the equivalent of the X800D
Just my tuppence worth, but I have had the Sony 55XD8005 (UK) for a few months now and have been very pleased with it.
Using the PS4 Pro & PC on it, and would happily recommend to anyone
Nice. Thanks!
Cheaper than i thought it would be.
Anyone here with this version? at the largest size (55)? I dunno if i should spring for this or upgrade to a different TV now. hehe.
My next TV has to be this way:
Sony/LG
4K OLED
42/43 inchs
Lowest imput lag possible
Highest HDR and HDMI technology available at the time
All under 800 $ if possible
how is this set compared to X900e? I really want another Sony TV but paying $600-$700 dollars is so much easier than paying $1100.Upgraded to a Vizio M50-E1 and boy it's a much nicer set. It's great to have an affordable 50" tv with HDR that actually looks impressive.
Don't get me wrong I think my 43" sony looks nice but the vizio really does shine for a similar price. The local dimming and much higher nuts on the vizio make for a much more impressive image.
It's slightly slower. 38ms vs 33ms but I honestly can't tell.
I'm very pleased. And in selling the x800d to a friend for 300..
