Rumor: Persona 5 Spinoff or Revision on the way - P5R

FES made sense because DLC didn't exist and Golden was a port. Why would they release new story content as anything but DLC? Genuinely curious.

It could also be DLC tbh if it is a true thing along side a retail re-release.

The last part is the most SMT Persona has ever been and not the most SMT Persona has ever been at the same time.

Removing it doesn't make any sense.

I think they mean that some of the last parts of game dragged on a bit and not the actual ending. I'm looking at you

Any revision better
resolve Akechi's storyline with more than just a fucking group text after wasting all that time on a really obvious betrayal. Seriously, he sacrifices himself to random enemies the party could have trounced as if that redeems him in some way, they barely comment on it while texting, and then he pretty much isn't even talked about st all after that beyond a mention in Shido's fight and a throwaway reference to him basically being a counterpart to Joker. I don't think they even tell Sae he died. After all that setup, that's how that storyline ends.
That was baffling to me.

It's also be cool to see things modified a bit to make magic actually useful at all in the endgame but I'm not expecting that.

once you understand how it works in your favor, the mouse sections are not as big of a deal as many people claim, imo.

Hmm, I'd love a more polished/trimmed P5. I wanted to get the game, but reading the comments about the grind/bloat in various threads has turned me off big time.

Take it as a rumor since it's not new, but my source is absolutely reliable.

I haven't played P5, but I know they will get rid of/fix some grinding (or something that makes the game too long) and, as a consequence, the story should be shorter. Around 2-3 months ago I was told the game was still 1.5/2 years away from release.

I was told to wait for this version since it should be overall better. That's it.

I don't remember grinding once in the game. They cannot make the game any shorter unless they just drop some social links and shorten the free times, and I'm not sure people will be happy about it as people are still asking for more social links.

If it's more persona 5 then naw. game already had severe pacing and bloating issues as is, more content wont fix the incredibly slow start and the last 20-30 hours being a dreadful bore

I want to believe, but this is such non-news.

It seems very likely that Persona 5 revision is coming eventually. But I don't think this is the time: seems too early.

Honesty I don't want "Female version" in P5. I rather see Persona 6 having female MC.

The only reason P3P was even able have that because they took out all anime cutscenes.

They can make the game shorter by revising the script and taking out a lot of the filler dialogues that are just there for no real reason. Not only that, but they can make some of the Palaces (like the 5th and 7th one) shorter but cutting some of their gimmicky parts from later floors.

Also, making some of the events (school trip, beach, etc) more fun and interesting will help people enjoy the game more even if it doesn't necessarily make it shorter. Taking out the constantly annoying IM messages (will they have a change of heart, what are you doing today, wanna go to palace, etc) will go a long way towards making the game feel less repetitive and as a result more enjoyable, as well.

So yeah, they can do quite a few things to improve upon the game and its pacing.

Female joker + male romances would be interesting. Additional Phantom thrives could be interesting, but i'm not sure how you introduce them unless you add more palaces or allow them to be recruited in momentos.

They could do something about the IMs but I'm not sure about the rest. The text messages mostly seem like a checkmark either way (we should go to the palace on X days, but if the palace is already done you get the worried change of heart texts instead).

If anything the stuff people seem to want like HIfumi being a party member or more Haru fleshing out earlier in the game would just make the game longer. I have no idea how Hifumi would ever got slotted with the way the game was structured, there's not really time for an extra character.

This is hilariously terrible.
Is she even wearing pants?

This cranks the sex appeal, (or at least a laughably brazen and simultaneously juvenile attempt at it) up to 11 for absolutely no reason other than "durr, is gurl."

Ah, so we are not only getting possible 'Persona Q: Phantom Thieves Heist' and 'Persona 5 Arena', but a full-on re-release? Huh... I expected to hear about this maybe two years post launch but this is sooner than I expected.

Not port begging here or anything, but could this imply it could release on PS4/PC/Switch? The PS4 got P5 already, so no issues there. PC would be a good fit for the game, as RPG's do well on the platform. Switch could allow it to have a great portable home and it could run well too (due to P5 having clear PS3 roots).

Either way, excited to see more Persona 5 stuff come about.

Is there something written in this fanart that says she's not wearing pants? Because it always looked absolutely obvious to me that she's wearing white pants.

100% agreed. I always saw this art as her wearing pants. (Though I think them being white in the image is more of a stylistic choice)

I'm surprised about the comments I see folks post about the game here. I get criticism but damn I feel like it's overblown. The game is great from beginning to end, and I'd rank the last 3 persona games 5>4>3.

Considering so much of 5 is just an edgier Persona 4 with gameplay improvements, I don't see how it can be better when everything from October onwards drags on tens of hours too long, then is somehow abruptly cut short.

5 drags on and on. It's extremely bloated. There were too much days where you couldn't do anything at night, or anything at all.

It's actually the opposite: Persona 4 is a goofy Persona game, the tone of the other games is more serious.

tbh that's my biggest criticism of P5 - that it's basically a better written P4.

Maybe it's because I followed a S.Link and knocked all dungeons out in one day I didn't feel like it dragged.

But in coming afterwards, Persona 5 sticks out as the lazy story. Structure,
finale
, and a few characters are almost ripped wholesale from the previous game.

I said this other threads but I personally enjoyed P5 more than P3/4. I felt both in combat and outside of combat i had more option than P3/4. But again enjoying any Persona game all depends on if u like the characters. If u don't then then game is not fun, this also hold try for both P3/4.

But all done better. And said previous game is a decade old. It's not like some shitty yearly release.

Persona 5 was basically Persona 4 with better plotting and less flawed party members. I can see that as being a critique, but I wouldn't be so fast in calling the story lazy.

Interesting. Give me Persona 5 Ruby on the Vita, Atlus!! I need my portable Persona fix!

I have some fond memories of going through Persona 4: The Golden as my first playthrough on the commute to and from work. Loved it. I hated being locked to my house, thinking about Persona 5 all day while I was at work. Although Remote Play might work at my job. My old job had shitty wi-fi, so RP was a bust.

But I digress.

This is some intriguing news, but I'll take it with a big ol' dump truck of salt. I'm wondering what they'd include in an enhanced version of P5 though. I really liked The Golden, as I had never played the original release of P4. I also wouldn't complain about straight up remakes of Personas 1-3, done in the current style (with maybe the original releases included as unlockables/alternate modes). I just want more Persona, dammit! And bring the Shin Megami games to PS2 Classics on PS4, Atlus! God!

My only real complaint about Persona 5 are the periods were you are barred from doing anything. It really fucked up my flow and Confidants. First time I didn't max out all of my links and social skills in one go. Having whole weeks were Morgana kept you from even going downstairs to study or make coffee really pissed me off. Not having an autosave function when reaching a new floor was kind of annoying. I lost more than just a little progress/personas because of bad rng, with enemies targeting the MC solely before I could even mount a counter-attack/heal strategy. Losing an hour of dungeon progress, and difficult to capture Personas because your last enemy got lucky was maddening. I don't need save anywhere, but it'd have been nice to have an autosave kick in whenever you loaded into a new area (ie, when the Joker level transition animation plays). So much of Persona 5 was updated and improved gameplay mechanics, but the save system felt annoyingly archaic. And I love old school RPGs! Playing Kingdom Hearts Final Mix on PS4 has also been a reminder of how annoying old rpg systems can be in this day and age. /oldmanyellingatclouds.

I think it's obvious it's suppose to be a high cut skirt or such. It's almost a no-pan design in how it's cut though.

While i'd love to see a female MC, i'm hoping it's more like the concept art and less just a fem-joker.
