Capcom is the one giving them access to these builds for the sole purpose of showing off the footage.
The EVO builds had direct feed output specifically so that people could record matches. Capcom reps were playing with Max and helping him learn the game.
Matt Edwards from Capcom is bringing builds to various UK events so that Tyrant can record footage.
It's not Tyrant/Max. It's Tyrant/Max WITH Capcom's help. This isn't an accident. That's the entire point of letting them record all this stuff.
True. That being said, it certainly seems like the bare minimum any company on a show floor could do to promote a game they have to know has been embattled with enthusiasts. Sporadic drops with huge periods of silence might be the Capcom MO now for one reason or another, but it doesn't build goodwill. It's self-inflicted wounds.
They've got a good product and they know how to market it, so it's confusing that things aren't more cohesive. Could be due to a number of a reasons we're not privy to, but disappointing all the same.
It's also no accident that the leaked ESports proposal got people excited, because it was one of the few things that felt like there was a behind the scenes strategy that actually resonated for this game. It was just a proposal but the fact that they're looking to support it is the kind of goodwill this game needs.
This is pretty close to if not a flagship title and is looking like it is as fun as one. They should do a quality job on the rest to complete the package.
But eh, I'm buying the game anyway and I don't have Capcom or Marvel stock. Plus Spider-Man looks like fun. This impacts their bottom line more than anything else.
