Oh lawd, the open sewer that is SAO coming to PC. We're all doomed.

As I wrote in the other thread, I'll get it if the gameplay is good. I couldn't care less aout the plot.

For that matter, wonder if this Gamescom Bamco has some announcements (PC announcements for that matter).

A thought that occurred to me earlier, but how does Steam (or GOG too I guess) enforce refunds on games that are DRM free?

I doubt GOG could do anything but Steam surely could, no?
Apart from no patches or online functionality I guess, just seem exploitable :/
I'm sure it's been talked about before but the thought came to me earlier on

Had a computer crash today. It was while I was playing Cold Steel and when I checked after rebooting my save file was fucked. I had a second file but it was a bit behind, then I remembered the auto-save feature Durante added. Man that feature is freaking great!
Nice to hear, that's what it's there for.

(Note though that if your entire PC crashed and a save was corrupted I'd suggest looking at the SMART data for your HDD/SSD. Something might be afoot)

Steam couldn't do anything about games that are DRM free either. That's the whole idea of DRM-free -- once you have the data you have the game.

The system works on the assumption that enough people are willing to do the right thing.

I noticed Cold Steel still has only 'partial controller support' listed on the store page. Does Valve still not believe your launcher has controller support?

I haven't checked back into that -- it's a bit silly, but I doubt it's preventing a lot of people from getting the game.

Still, I'd love an explanation on what exactly about the game doesn't qualify as full controller support.

I don't think this will impact the sales much, those who want to pirate the game, would just download the game either way, they won't hassle with buying and refunding it ..

Probably Valve nagging developers to ditch launchers of any kind. Even though of course in the case of Cold Steel the launcher has itself controller support

They are shipping Steam games that are sewn together with Uplay into a Frankensteinian horror-show. Do you really think they care about some tags on the store front?

a Steam game that launches the Uplay client that launches the Origin client that launches the Games For Windows Live client that launches the Epic Games client that launches the Battle.net client that launches the Bethesda.net client that launches the GOG Galaxy client that launches the Rockstar Social Club client

The whole thing comes off as someone trying to spark outrage through misleading people.

Well, that's exactly what I believe this is about.

There's many who have their profits coming from this, asset flip makers, sites selling keys, card farmers, "promotor groups" etc.

This is probably most effective way to stop profitability for everyone involved, as previous limits (steam purchases+playtime) is still quite easily gameable. (like pay farmers to buy your game and idle play time)

I wonder if I should get the expacs of Cities now since they're on sale. The only ones I'm missing are Snowfall, Natural Disasters, and Mass Transit.

If any of you play(ed) Spintires:

https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2017/08/18/spintires-mudrunner-announced/

".....Spintires: MudRunner is being worked on by Saber Interactive, the folks who made Will Rock and Inversion and also chip in on games including Quake Champions....."

50% for existing owners + 10% launch preorder.

I mean I bet most people probably angry about it not being free..but it is a different dev and pub..which both are reputable.

10% and extra 50% off for existing owners is more than fair IF there's enough new unique content in the game. Few maps and vehicles won't do much considering there's hundreds of maps and vehicles already available for Spintires. The game needs new camera system, saving in multiplayer and simply something new to do within a map. I bet just hauling more logs with new vehicles won't satisfy most people at this point.

Is there really no way to gift anything from Canada to the US now?

I'm getting

"Due to regional price differences, the gift you are trying to send cannot be sent to the recipient's region."

Depends on the price of the game you are trying to gift. If it's more than 10% then you can't do it.
