I liked 0, just didn't love it (7/10) i was ready to wait on 1 for a sale but knowing they are releasing 2 it's pushed me over the edge so I'm day one. :D

Not in a rush to play 6 if there's a chance I can play them in order:)

While I'm totally down for this, I'll be playing vanilla 2 after kiwami because I don't have time to wait for this to be localize to move on in the series.

Is there not a chance it could be localised at the same time now it's got a bigger following in the West? Would imagine translating can be done side by side with development especially if there's no English dub.

I think we'll consider ourselves lucky if it's out this time next year in the west

Looks like I will wait before playing Yakuza 6 as I'm new to the series. Having played 0, Kiwami next week, makes sense to play K2 after. Hoping for a remastered PS4 collection of 3-5 to play them all in order...

I still gotta do Kiwami 1 tho fam

One of the best things about this is that inevitable localisation announcement at PSX by Gio Corsi. There's something about Gio saying the word "Yakuza" on stage that just makes my heart sing.

When is the actual event? Kind of fiending for a trailer. Plus, didn't they say multiple announcements? I could be wrong about that though...

Best Yakuza in the most advance engine? OMG yas!

Consider Yakuza 0 is my fav Yakuza game Im looking forward what can Y2 offer to me.

After preordering 0 and 1 remake, this will most certainly be on my radar. 2 is actually the only yakuza I've not owned so to say I'm thrilled by this is an understatement!! Not shocked though, I had a hope this would arrive the moment they announced the first remake, but still absolutely delighted it's definitely coming. WELL DONE SEGA

It's been a few years since I last played 3, so my memory isn't that great, but I think they only cut a few minigames (mahjong and shogi I believe?) and the hostess clubs. I'm unsure about 4 and 5 as I haven't had the time to play through them, so someone else will have to comment on that.

Tons of side stuff was cut. Apart from he stuff you mentioned they also got rid of the hostess club management side stories (a good 5-10 hours can be spent on that alone), around 20 side stories were also cut including two from returning guest characters akimoto and mizuki, the massage parlour was cut and so was the side story connected to that and I'm fairly sure I'm not even covering everything! There was a sega forum thread posted in another thread here, I'll see if I can dig it up again as it shows just up how much sega butchered the release of 3 outside Japan. It definitely deserves a remaster just to right the wrongs of the past.

As for this new announcement, saw it coming and so very hyped. Day 1 import for sure, just gotta do a Kiswami replay now to lead into it!

You beautiful sons of bitches

Remember being ridiculed for pleading with Sega about a Yakuza 3 localization?

Remember? :_)

I remember the Yakuza PS+ thread on GAF and a lot of people, including Bish, were reacting with a collective 'WTF is this thing Sony giving away?' Reaction

Felt bad, man V_V

Me and my buddy were just talking about looking for the locations whenever we go thank you for this!

No worries, Akibared. The moment I arrived in Kabukicho, I really felt like I was walking in Kiryu's shoes. The moment I saw 'Matsuya'/Pronto, I was like "OMG, that's in Yakuza! Oh, this is also in Yakuza too! I have to show this to the world!" I didn't feel lost at all when I was in Kabukicho. I didn't use a map or GPS when filming the documentary. Some of my friends who never played Yakuza were amazed how faithful Kabukicho looked in the series and bought the games just to experience the package. They loved it.

All I rememeber is one or more game reviewer going "If you whine about this and don't get the game you're an idiot." but to this day I have no interest of playing Yakuza 3 in it's current form. You could send me the game and your PS3 right along with it and I'd be like "Oh! Thanks!" but put it away in the basement right away.

I've created a playlist for all episodes of my weekly Yakuza Locations Tour 2016 (龍が如く : 場所のツアー 2016) series for viewers to catch up on episodes they might have missed.

Thanks for watching, everyone!

This is great, I love how you show both real life and in-game. Definitely visiting this when I get to Tokyo next year.

Thanks for watching, Naliem! In later episodes *ahem Episode 40 and the Finale* I've incorporated a ‘Side-by-Side' comparison of the original Yakuza and the remake, Yakuza Kiwami to give viewers a better look at the amazing graphical fidelity seen in the remake. I also took the liberty of translating the dialogue.

Y2 had the best story in the series IMO (closely followed by Y3) so i would love to revisit that experience.

I hope Sega continues those remakes with their PS3 Yakuza titles so we can finally have a chance to play Kenzan and a COMPLETE version of Y3.

Great news. Played Yakuza 1 and 2 in my PS2, but never bought them and have bought all the other games since Yakuza 3 (Not the spin-offs) So this is my redemption can now finally buy both main games that i was missing in my colection.

Sega and Atlus doing great work. Now is it too much to bring Kenzan and Ishin to the west too?

Fucking. Amazing. It warms my soul to see a Yakuza thread with so many pages :)

The only bad news for me with this is it'll probably be 30fps instead of 60fps like Yakuza 0 which is godlike but regardless it's ultimately irrelevant. Day. fucking. one.

Great! It will be the only mainline I've yet to play after 6 is released and is supposedly the best in the series.

Hope it's localised by the end of next year.

WE DID IT Y'ALL

DREAMS COME TRUE

K I W A M I B O Y Z

HELL YEAH MOTHER TRUCKER
those are just the words I was thinking of, dreams do come true. one more day till a trailer, fuck yeah
They've said he's able to return, he just wouldn't be the main character. Yakuza 4 and 5 set the pedestal for new characters to follow. Hell Majima would be the perfect main character for 7
I think the the protagonist is gonna be someone new. A low ranking Yakuza

Akiyama would be great, he's the best to play with after Kiryu too.
But they have been giving Majima more attention so I can see him being the protagonist in 7.

Pie and Beans

Look for me on the local news, I'll be the guy arrested for trying to burn down a Nintendo exec's house.
Can't wait to see those realistic tigers. Fur shading you just want to punch the shit out of.
