Debating just skipping this and jumping in 100% blind to the retail release next month. Have managed to avoid everything about the game till now.

I might play the Vita demo for 15 minutes or so just to see how it runs

Did Monokuma get a new English VA for this game? His inflection sounds a bit different - feels like he's slightly more laid back.

This thread has gone over ten posts and nobody has posted that fucking gif of the dancing Monokumas yet. Someone needs to get on it.

So glad I've managed to dodge spoilers for this. Debating even trying the demo.

It seems very deliberately made to not spoil the full game. In fact, it reminds me of the DR1 demo (only came out in Japan for the original PSP version, it did get fan-translated though) in how it plays around.

In fact (SPOILERS for the DRv3 demo):

There's pieces of dialogue that make no sense unless you're familiar with the DR1 demo!

Oh so is unrelated to the main story? I might get it then.

Edit: I thought it was part of the first case or something similar. Just checked it on the wiki. Will download it, thanks gaf.

Wait what? So I can play it without worrying about the main story?

Edit: yep read the wiki as well, its fine to play since it is its own story.

Thanks for clearing this up. That's what I was hoping for.

The story is unique to the demo, it does not spoil anything, and references the demo for Trigger Happy Havoc which also features a case not in the game.

EDIT: Beaten!

Also: this has save data you can import into the full game, promising that you'll get a bonus for doing so.

It'll probably just be an extra item or in-game currency, but yeah.

I can't believe it
Demo only spoilers
Hagakure's fucking dead. In the demo.
AGAIN. This is everything I ever wanted.

Whenever a game uses "middleware," I expect mediocrity. Just see how poor TLOU looks.
I really hope the story is good in this one after they botched the anime.

Curious to see how Danganronpa 1, 2 and V3 stack up against the Zero Escape trilogy when it's all said and done.

I haven't played it yet so this might be wrong but V3 is meant to be a reboot so it's not really fair to compare it to the Zero Escape trilogy.

Are there any images of the theme you get with the pre-order?

It also plays the V3 version of the main DR theme.

V3 has nothing to do with the previous Danganronpa games?

Like a totally different universe, or just set in the same universe with a new story not tied to previous events? Disappointing if it's the former...

It's been pitched as a sort of soft reboot from what I read in interviews, but that's pretty suspect coming from Kodaka...

There are most definitely going to be some Danganronpa-ass shenanigans.

I'll be getting it on PC when it drops. Want to play some more Danganronpa. Also I'm guessing Makoto and Hajime aren't supposed to be in the actual game. They're placeholders to avoid spoilers I'm guessing.

Yup. The DRV3 demo is basically a response to the DR1 demo for fans, so they tossed Makoto and Hajime in there for fun.
