Nindies Summer Showcase coming 8/30 [Over]

I have so many games for the Switch right now (I just bought Splatoon, Slime-san, and Tumbleseed), but the second Stardew Valley comes out I'm probably going to abandon everything and play that for quite a while.

I reeeeeeeeeally hope they give it a release date during this thing.

It makes zero sense that a hat in time is coming to all platforms but a Nintendo console. Hoping this direct rectifies the situation.

They would need to adapt Unreal Engine 3 to work with Switch as it doesn't support it natively. That would take time.

Don't know if asked already but is this US only? Did not see NoE mention this.

NoE hasn't mentioned it, yeah. I think this presentation is in preparation to PAX West, which is of course an American event. It would be neat if NoE gives this indie presentation a bit marketing support tho by mentioning and streaming it. I doubt that any of the indie games will remain exclusive to the States, considering the Switch is region-free and the submission process has become easier, unlike Wii U.

Damon Baker is actually a really good presenter, his last direct was great.

Expecting some surprises.

Somewhat related, gaf please suggest a current Indie game on the Switch i can play while i travel up north in the train from london. I was hoping Mario and Rabbits kingdom battle would arrive this morning before I left but nope, I like adventure games or 3D platformers.

Hmmm, I still haven't bought Snipperclips, and I'm going to need it soon (On holiday with my nieces, and I think they'll love it). However, in the past on occasion sales have been announced in Nintendo Directs and other such broadcasts, so probably best postponing for a day or two!

Heh, I didn't read further than 'gaf please suggest a current Indie game on the Switch' lol.
As for adventure games, maybe Kamiko? It's a bit Zelda-esque. I hope that counts as an adventure game.

TumbleSeed is a fun game and got so much more inviting after the latest patch for the game. I'd suggest you pick that one up. There's even a fun Multiplayer mode which you can use two JoyCon to play.

So if my timezone differences googling is accurate, this'll be on at 3pm tomorrow in the UK. Really hate how Nintendo seem to be positioning their presentations right as I start work. :p

Got a bunch of Gamestop credit looking to turn into eshop credit asap. Give me some nice "and it's out now" releases, Nintendo.

Last showcase was one of the best directs from Nintendo.

There are many game from that presentation that still are not released though, so I expect a date in those first.

I am afraid Hollow Knight will be a 2018 title though

There was some very weird development with AHiT and a British developer that specializes in porting games to Linux and its officially working on a Switch game(s?).

Linky

Note that GfB was hard and fast on shutting down the rumor. But the issue is bizarre nevertheless. As for the developer, their latest Linux project, MXGP3, was announced for Switch recently too.

To refresh our minds and to give us all a nice overview of games from the February Nindie Showcase that still aren't out yet (dates are from the presentation):

SteamWorld Dig 2 - Summer 2017
Yooka-Laylee - 2017 (released on April 4 on other systems)
The Escapists 2 - 2017 (released on August 22 on other systems)
Dandara - Summer 2017
Kingdom: Two Crowns - 2017
Runner3 - Fall 2017
Flipping Death - 2017 (according to the Nindie Showcase, but after Fe (2018) according to recent dev statement.)
Shakedown Hawaii - April 2017 (the trailer said "soon" tho - the trailer is still right)
Pocket Rumble - March 2017 (didn't happen)
Wargroove - 2017
Stardew Valley - Summer 2017

Infographic (coming 2017)

Some of these games are confirmed to be delayed. Others most likely get delayed. It's still game development after all and smaller teams are even more vulnerable to delays than big ones.

Snake Pass has already been suggested as a 3D platformer.

How about Bulb Boy as and adventure game? It's a point-and-click adventure (not touch-point-and-click, you walk to the thing you interact with, which makes sense in this game) with a spooky/wacky mood and great art style.

Last showcase was one of the best directs from Nintendo.

It was great, but one of the reasons was that many expected the Wii U/3DS level of indie support back then. This time everyone knows that the level has been raised.
