First tragedy, then farce.
Let's be real, Texas never really had a chance against Maryland.

Honestly. If you look at the last 7 years of our program and take the name of the front off the jersey there is no fucking way we are ranked and no fucking reason you should be surprised by that outcome.

We got BLANKED by fucking Iowa State. Lost to Kansas. We pulled in really good recruiting classes and have shown flashes of real talent.. but outside of that, there is no real reason to be surprised by this loss. I told my wife the day before the game I figured we had a 30-40% chance of losing.

We are a dogshit program right now, and we fired a guy whose M.O. was getting teams pumped as fuck to take on the OUs of the world and kept it close against top 10 opponents regularly and would get destroyed by the worst teams on the schedule.

And we replaced him with a guy whose claim to fame is beating OU and losing to fucking Navy, SMU, Memphis and San Diego St. We better watch out, they comin' to town next week too and have his number.

Herman was a bullshit hire. Our racist as shit big dollar donors wanted to fire Charlie a year earlier and hire Herman when it looked good on paper (despite a small sample size of success).. and a year later when Charlie needed to be fired just picked the same dumb mother fucker when he looked like a terrible hire.

But he probably licks the dirt off Red McCombs shoes the way Mack did so the money is happy.

Bold prediction: if A&M loses to both Arkansas and South Carolina, Sumlin will be gone before the season ends for sure.

Bold Prediction - Coach who should have and almost was fired last season will be fired if he starts out 0-3?

What a ledge to walk out on.

I can't wait for SMU to just continue to eat shit and for Aggy to hire Morris anyway. Gotta copy pasta what big brother does, even if it means following us right off a damn cliff.

I can't believe you're gonna overlook Lafayette and Nichols State like that.

Jacob Eason out with a sprained knee ligament for ND. Don't think it affects things all that much with how UGA uses our QB and running game. Great opportunity for Fromm though. Not so great news for Eason if Fromm shows out.

Also, overused meme right now but seems appropriate.

No way man, you can't do that to me.

It's really weird to see how both programs have just nuked themselves without even having a direct playing field against the other. Has there ever been a stretch for both flagship programs to be dogshit for such an extended period of time?

I genuinely have no idea what to think is gonna happen with Fields now. Suppose it depends on who looks better between Fromm and Blackman.

Sucks about Francois (and the 2 kids from Bama). Hate seeing that happen to anyone.

Just following the cheddar on Twitter, some say his football career could be in jeopardy. I have not been able to find anyone outside of Tallahassee hot takes to corroborate this though.

Time for me to stick around and see if this true freshman quarterback it's good enough to supplant our upperclassmen

Red wanted him fired two days after he was hired. Never gave him half the support he gave Mack (who should have been fired years before he was). We will never recover as long as the old boys club still runs our team.

He's already supplanted the other two.

You wouldn't know it given the OL performance the last several years. I don't think we've had an actually great OL since Pendry retired.

It's so aggravating. We had arguably the best offensive line ever in 2012, and it's been downhill since. Derrick won the Heisman in 2015 in spite of the line honestly. Still don't get how they won the award for best OL.

Yet somehow you fucks are probably going to find a way back to the NC. It annoys me how well coached Bama teams are year after year. That defense didn't even look like it lost any starters.

I'm nervous. Fromm looked really good on Saturday, and it seems like he has a better head on him than Eason does, but playing App State at home is way different from playing Notre Dame in South Bend. That's gonna be a much more stressful environment for a freshman in his second game as QB.

I'm mostly just concerned about making the 12 hour drive from Athens all to watch us lose though.

I'm working on the OT for tomorrow morning. I wouldn't dare put it up before the Champions of Life lose their first actual football game of the season.

We may have a winner. Bonus points if you can work a Liberty joke in there.

Just be sure to save "All my exes coached in Texas" for when any firing news comes down.

Texas will be back eventually, they just have too many resources to be down forever. It's still early in Herman's tenure, and he is taking over a 5-7 team. Maryland is not a bad football team at all, and have a solid coach in Durkin.

Well looks like GAF already has a wrong playoff team.

Yeah I'd hold off on the Fromm hype, it was against App State(insert decade old joke here), but ND is not a very good football team so I still think you guys roll.

Hell, no one assumed Francois would get a season-ending injury. I still ain't convinced they're out of it. ACC too wide open (especially behind that defense), and a ton of teams either looked sloppy or played nobody.

I want Auburn and Tennessee to lose their upcoming games, but then we gotta hear about the premiere conference in college football. Ugh. Bane, where you at?

I picked FSU as well, so yeah I'm with you on that, but I just don't think there is much of a chance that they can get through the ACC undefeated(which is probably what they would have to do to get into the CFP) without Francois.

1-Bama
2-OSU
3-Clemson
4-Penn State
5-Oklahoma
6-Washington
7-Michigan
8-USC

Thought of that as well when Francois and Eason both went down. I think UGA is in a really good place. Aside from what I mentioned before, a weekend or so ago during the dead period, he went to UGA and had them get an NCAA exception or whatever it is so he could do so. It's important to note that he could have gone to FSU then but chose to go to UGA at that time.

I think how FSU does the next few weeks and how UGA does this weekend bears heavily into his decision.

It's a big game. ND looks good against Temple. It's Temple but they still put up over 400 yards rushing. Granted, our DL is light years beyond Temple, so we'll see what gives there.

Supposedly the ND people are expecting as many or more fans as Nebraska brought when they came some time back.

Are you in the Redcoat Band? Couldn't remember if that was you or another Georgia fan.

Week 2 |OT| - Deep in the L of Texas

I don't expect too much movement in the rankings. UW could get jumped and Noles probably stay top 10. Michigan might move up to possibly drop UW out. USC might get jumped by PSU and Clemson.

Iowa State is good enough to where no one picks them as a joke pick, but yet good enough that no one picks them as a serious pick. Mediocrity at its best!

USC beats a team that was in a New Year's 6 bowl and drops 4 spots?

I guess that makes sense.

Watched UCLA comeback vs Texas A&M. UCLA killed them with basically 3 pass concepts: Y-stick, F-post (to trips) and TE cross seam from trips

https://twitter.com/smartfootball/status/904791016242327552

I was listening on the radio and the announcers did mention how UCLA was killing them with the TE, but whew.

They struggled with a MAC team that lost their coach and most of their stars from last year.

They won by 18 over a team that returned most of its o-line and running backs and played in 100 degree heat.

And? The teams he has jumping USC didn't exactly beat Alabama. Seems silly is all.
They all dominated the teams they played, and Michigan beat a ranked team. The AP has moved away from the "you don't drop if you win" route. Dropping 4 spots after struggling with a MAC team isn't outrageous.

They won by 18, but as the box score indicates, they were unable to pull away from Western Michigan until the 4th quarter. Two of your TD's were scored in the last 5 min of the game, and one of those on a pick 6 near the end.
