Yes (at least P3, P4 & P5, I don't remember if P1 and the P2 duology are connected)

P1 and P2 are definitely connected themselves, but there isn't a connection with the rest of the series, If I don't remember incorrectly.

The Kirijo group is directly stated to have split from the Nanjo group. Plus Persona 1 and 2 characters are sometimes referenced if you look at the tv in Persona 3 and 5.

The butterfly is also stated to be Philimon.

I think the PS2 version still holds up very well today, plus we have the movies which are great. They should focus on Persona 6.

In my opinion, the only Persona game that really needs a remake is P2.

One thousand times yes. If not P2 games then P1. P1 is really hard to play though, even with the PSP port and P2 is also rough to get back into, even though it's an improvement over 1. The assets are probably testing for Persona 3 Dancing though.

They are most definitely connected.
All persona games,and even Shin Megami Tensei: IF take place in the same "universe".

Personally I might pick up PQ2 but after P4D I am quite ambivalent on their dancing games. Might pick it up on a large discount later especially considering they are milking it even further with TWO rhythm games.

On the other hand I would have grabbed definitive version of P3 and remaster of P4G for PS4 day 0.

Thing is, Persona 4 has a definitive edition with Persona 4 Golden, while Persona 3 has two versions with different strengths.

Combining P3 FES' and P3P's editions into a singular HD package would be an extremely worthwhile venture for all involved, IMO.

I'd buy another version of 4 to be able to play it on the big screen, 4G looks like ass on the PSTV

After booting P3 up and having a quick compare the polygon count looks to be the same, so either it's just a quick map test or that modder is fibbing and simply ported some of P3's geometry into P5 as a test.

Enough weird shit can happen in a Persona/SMT game that I hope if they do a new version of Persona 3 it will somehow be both a remake and a sequel or something.
