You can't really read Bethesda in that way.
Let me remind you that reviews for Doom were embargoed until the game launched which led people to believe that the game sucked. Lo' and behold, it obviously didn't.
I believe it was the same with Wolfenstein TNO.

granted DOOM 2016 was a major thing for them but I don't think it is stupid to think they might not have as much to brag about for this version. We would at least get some hints from those who played it.

They wouldn't have had the press play the game if it weren't for previews, and since the only date roaming around is today at 12 PST, I have hope the embargo really is lifted at that time. Hopefully Digital Foundry got hold of the game.

I hope not. They'd nit pick every pixel and make it feel so inferior regardless of the frame rate being 60fps if it's that. Haha

I imagine the news will warrant a new thread. This is the announcement thread. Not sure where better to speculate and pass time before the embargoes end. I can't imagine we won't all move to a new thread to talk about any new information we get today (if we do indeed get some!)

It's not far out of the realm of possibility for the game to be 30fps, so I'd rather be cautious and temper my expectations to avoid disappointment.

It's speculation based on previous embargoes I think. Hilariously embargoes also often embargo the embargo, so you can't talk about it or confirm when it ends.

I'm pulling for 60, but think 30 is more likely. But yeah, the embargo tells us nothing.

Keep your expectations low and you won't be dissapointed.

As someone who played the majority of Doom on a laptop that was not meant for Doom to be played on with 35fps AT BEST (and 10-15fps at worst), I personally couldn't care less if the game ran at 30fps on Switch. But I know that I'm more of the exception in this regard rather than the rule, at least here on GAF.

By the way, what happens if nothing happens?
Guess we'll still live.

Hey, remember that time GAF watched a random episode of Britain's Got Talent online because they'd heard an incorrect rumour that the first Wii U advert was going to air during it. This isn't as bad as that I don't think (and man, it was hilarious to read GAF's reactions to UK advertising) but I do find myself reminded of it.

That reminds me of the days when the first Pokemon footage would be aired on a Pokemon variety show in Japan. There was a thread where we'd collectively watch a live stream of Japanese TV, which entailed an episode of the Pokemon anime in Japanese followed by 30 minutes of the variety show, complete with Japanese commercials. Those threads were really fun for the same reasons, lol.
