Red Dead Redemption II Trailer #2 released!

nothing official on PC yet. I expect them to release on console first, wait a bit, then announce the PC version to get people to double dip.

they want you to buy it first one console then the superior version later on because they know we will its bullshit but it works

I still haven't bought GTAV due to that multi-platform release schedule bullshit we saw. The fact the PS4 version dropped before the pc version still has me salty as fuck.

I like GTA, but absolutely adored Red Dead Redemption. I really hope we don't see the same thing unfold with the release of RDR2.

I can understand where the mixed reactions are coming from though.

It starts off great, although that grass is as static as can be but I assume the wind is just totally absent, lol. But the scene we then get with Arthur talking about money to that sitting dude.... it looks off. Not just the low res texture. Usually you don't really notice those kind of things in Rockstar trailers.

I'm sure final game will be fine though. Graphics didn't blow me away though, which is unfortunate because their graphics usually do. But we cant forget how spoilt we've become after Uncharted 4 and HZD in terms of graphics. Those are some crazy visuals.

The close ups on the faces looked really really good.

This scene could EASILY fit into a Rockstar game haha.

Huh? The game definitely looks better than GTA V.

It's not the graphical upgrade we usually see from R* titles but it does look better.

It's been awhile since I've played it though so maybe what I think it looked like is off.

I hope we get some Ennio Morricone in this or something similar.

Its kind of hard not to put John in the top three after Undead Nightmare.

"....YOU EAT BABIES!"

I've actually not played Undead Nightmares other than the first 20 minutes or so.

I know, I know, I should have, but I had sold my xbox360 back in the day and the PS3 version looked way too washed up and didn't feel like it anymore.

I guess Horizon must have raised the stakes to damn high if we are complaining about graphics in an open world game (specially a Rockstar open world game). Game already looks better than GTA V but thats still not enough for yall XD

Why does everybody want John back so bad? I get that his character was awesome but this doesn't have to be small town USA where every person just randomly runs into each other. It's a different story. Red Harlow wasn't in RDR and it was still a fantastic game. If John does show up, it will probably be a surprise.

Given they felt the need to make an announcement "something", that was a really poor trailer. Contrast to the "My name is John Marston" trailer or the GTAV characters trailer- massively poor.

I guess this is the standard of effort they're going to put in after printing money for 3 years.

I think so too. Avoids uncanny valley. Looks stylized and reminiscent of the first game but obviously better. Animation looks good IMO for an open world game. TW3 is probably the best facial lip sync for an open world game and this looks comparable to me.

The more I watch it, the more all the different types of animations stand out. There's a lot of nuance and variety.

I don't remember GTAV having this lackluster texture work and absurd amounts of blurriness.

Could be because my contact point to GTAV has been PC port.

Some people here called some of the graphics dated and that has me thinking. It would not surprise me if initially RDR2 was planned for release a long time ago. Maybe two or three years after GTA V, but let's not forget that when GTAO started to get big that they said in a interview that all of Rockstar was focused on GTAO and nothing but.

While Rockstar San Diego is no more, it's developers definitely are and I wonder if that meant development on RDR2 was halted or hadn't even begun yet. Of course I can't prove it but I still say we would have had this game by now if it hadn't been for GTAO.

I don't think they will include John in any trailer or marketing material. This doesn't mean he won't be in the game but i suspect he will appear near the end of the story.

Animation looks stiff couple of times but overall this whole thing made very positive impression on me :)

All aboard I guess.

I wonder how this game will look on regular PS4 vs pro? If there’s a noticeable enhancement I’ll buy a Pro just for this game.

Oh for sure, but those are cutscenes. Hopefully ingame characters look great too. But I don't know man, hard to explain but for a Rockstar trailer I didn't expect a few things. Things that just look slightly off. And we got people saying it's still early days but I would hope it's not. I'd think it has been in development for a long ass time and now.

We'll just have to wait and see for further updates but I'm just gonna go ahead and expect yet another delay.

Is it really John? Wow. I never did play the OG Revolver game, but it looks very different. I assume he is younger here, yeah?

I'm just speculating, the one on the left has to be Bill Williamson though!

This is a prequel so yeah he would be younger.

What is most likely gameplay vs. cutscene

Reverse
MGS2 situation please
.

I do think they'll show him in the last pre-release trailer though.

I believe its on normal PS4 based on the Playstation Twitter. Otherwise they could have mentioned PS4 Pro like they have been doing in their own videos.

Horizon didn't do much for me. I don't know why all the comparisons. There is a lot more going in the Rockstar's worlds than Horizon. Much more impressive games out there. RDR2 looks to be a great game. I need to see some gameplay, though. Hard to get too hyped over stuff like this.

I never played RDR. Hopefully having completed 1 isn't a prerequisite for diving into part 2, because this looks awesome!

Yup, though the "gameplay" one has that youtube compression to it so it'll definitely look better than this.

Both shots are .png and from Gamersydes HQ-ish download. Not YouTube screen area caps.

Edit: I even made sure to take that gameplay shot so it looks as good as possible in that scene. Go back few seconds...

It's a prequel, so I'm sure it's not.

For real? damn. But again, it's obvious the game is way cleaner than what it looks like in the picture. There's no way it'll look as smudgy.

Ah good one, yeah seems like it indeed. I'm sure all will be fine, animations wise as well. I'm just used to their trailers looking more polished for lack of a better word.

If Spring really is happening, full on marketing should start around February or March?
