by watching the video we can understand the operation of the arcade mode ... in fact one wins races and one receives money and Exp ..
the money is likely to buy (among other) cars and exp to unlock circuits .. it's a mini solo mode actually ..

I like these two proposals:

GT Sport OT - The real eSports simulation
GT Sport OT - Gran Turismo 7 to 77

is he steering with the dpad?

Not sure why GTS will get "bad" reviews. Sure the lack of a proper simulation mode/campaign will deduct a few points but it is far superior than the previous GT games.

And if the beta is any indication, it is much more fun than the tedious grind.
Well that's your opinion, from my point of view PD has completely dropped the ball this time, I don't even have PS+ so I don't see how this could possibly be more fun for me than the previous GTs (which I didn't think was a tedious grind), it may be the biggest downgrade ever for such a long going serie.
And considering how I'm currently enjoying my time in FM7 by going through a campaign and upgrading my old ass cars into sleeper monsters I don't really see how GTS would fit my play style.

Exactly. I'm not interested in online play, but I have no problem seeing that the game might be great for people who are.

There's no need to downplay the campaign in order to defend the online focus (which IMO is not the only fault: circuit and car count, as well as more variety and street level cars).

I think having custom race (if it is deep) alongside the seasonal events will be enough offline content for me. I do see your point either way.

I mean... I don't really know what you're looking for. You know that this game isn't what you're looking for. You know that it isn't a straight sequel to Gran Turismo 6 and that the focus has changed from what you want. You don't have to buy the game. Polyphony don't owe you Gran Turismo 7. You have literally just bought a game which does exactly what you want and say you're enjoying your time with it. Do you really need two homogeneous games within a fortnight of each other?

You're a broken record. You're dismissive of the change of focus and those that are happy to see it. It's ridiculously tiresome at this point. We get it. You wish it was Gran Turismo 7. It isn't. Can we move on?

While in line at BB to pick up the SNES classic this am, couldnt help notice two large 4K screens in the gaming section showcasing titles for PS4 and XBox 1.

After a PS logo and classic blue screen, what is obviously a racing game trailer starts.
Looking really fine, and I think "dam GTS looks really good on a 60" 4K screen". "Good for Sony to start indoor advertising 2 weeks before the game drops".
After some mighty fine cars racing in various envo, the logo of the game come full screen:
Project Cars 2
Ends with PS logo.

Needless to say I am quite puzzled hehe.

Forza is not GT. Move on where? To GT7 in another 4 years? I've been playing GT since PS1 and loved every single game except GT6 which arrived when I had already jumped into the PS4 generation. So I've been waiting for a new GT since GT5, I'm sorry if it offends if I express my disappointment that I won't be able to enjoy this installment and have to wait for the next one instead (which might not even appear on PS4 or have a single player focus).
I guess my hope is that this talk don't just fades away and that PD is listening and finds a way to add a single player campaign as DLC.

GT Sport |OT| what's in the box?
This is where I'm at right now.

Really interested to see a blowout feature on the Arcade mode. Because if I ever pick this up that'll be the mode I'll spend all of my time in. But I still only have a surface level understanding of how it's supposed to work.
