I don't get why people act like Hyrule Warriors was different.
Hyrule Warriors was full of other callouts, some small, some major, and references even if they didn't directly pull a character from the games.
Just for some examples:
One of the first things we saw, for example, was Link using the Fire Rod, a weapon that prior to BOTW was exclusive to several of the 2d Zeldas. The strongest form of the ball chain weeapon of links was a chain chomp because of links awakening, where he used one as a weapon (by taking it for a walk!) For a short period.
Zelda came with the wind waker as a weapon.
Adventure mode was based on the original Zelda's map and items.
If fire emblem warriors is taking a similar level of inspiration from the other games in the series to how hyrule warriors did it, they're doing an absolutely terrible job of communicating it.
I'm hoping that FE Warriors does well enough that Nintendo/Sega/Atlus decide to port over Tokyo Mirage Sessions as well.
I have a Wii U copy, but it deserve a wider audience.
Plus I want some of those characters in FE Heroes
I wonder how well TMS could actually actually actually do at reaching a larger audience. I liked the game a lot and would go right for a sequel, but that was the most anime game I've played, even when put alongside things atlus does normally put out like persona
