i think when this is what your sprite grass looks like, you may as well just not have any at all. also, whats with the texture looking like it's offset by about 30cm?

Incompetent developer not preparing his game for a screenshot thread that is highlighting every part of a track.

I expected more GT:S vs FM7 comparisons but FM7 is busy fighting with years old games of the same series. Project Cars is also a nice example that having access to "unlimited" PC hardware is only one side of a medal, the other one is art direction where GT is still on the top of the game.

How so when other games are on PS4 Pro & Xbox One with up to 3X the power of PS4 & has a 3 year advantage , the fact that people have to use the 30fps excuse in this situation says it all.

The games are not made for the PS4 Pro. They "just" run at 4K or something similar.

Look up at the Forza 7 shots & videos they don't look better than Driveclub even if it was on a 65"
Forza 7 on XB1 had a squeaky clean IQ for the X1 on my 24" monitor. I was surprised it even had AF upgraded compared to its predecessors.

Sorry but it does to me, it is my personal preference. All the fancy effects are lost in DC without the IQ. I way prefer a sharper image.

So all the fancy effects are lost in DC? yet it still look better than games coming out 3 years later? lol

You know exactly what I'm trying to say, stop being pedantic and trying to run around in circles to try and win internet points.

Just the overused motion blur in DC to hide the low framerate alone is enough to disqualify DC as potential "best looking racer". Looking at the game makes me literally sick.

From what we saw up to know GTS will probably only be beat on consoles by Forza 7 Xbox One X version... it is the best looking of the four games guys is talking here.

pCARs looks worse than DriveClub in my view.

This is the first time I've ever seen someone complain about motion blur in Driveclub. To me DC has the best sense of speed I've ever experienced in a racing game. I remember when I first drove the 12c in Driveclub after only driving hot hatches and I almost shat myself.

Is it odd that I say that all the Gamersyde 4K PC footage of Forza7 (Prague, Alps) didn't impress me at all?

Maybe it was because the weather was dry. In some way F7 looks like Driveclub in that there is a very big difference between wet and dry weather.

Maybe it was also because replay camera's aren't that good in Forza.

Maybe it was because Forza fictional tracks look a bit unrealistic in a sense that there isn't just a possibility they could exist in real life. I mean, some turns, corners, roads and buildings look very much out of place. No way a track around Prague or in the Alps would look like those in Forza. Also the road and building textures look a bit... bland and repeated?

I have enough reasons to criticize Gran Turismo but the sheer polish, replay angles and looks of fictional tracks aren't those reasons.

Driveclub is the Boogeyman this generation even without a PS4 Pro patch it's still putting the top dogs to shame after 3 years while they are on consoles 2 & 3 times more powerful.
30fps though.

But yeah it still looks fucking insane. Sad that the studio closed :(

Things already become such a blurry mess at low speed like 120km/h in DC. It's hard to take such claims seriously. Games like Forza and GT are so much more realistic in that regard, though Forza suffers some silly whacky cameras.

IQ wise, yeah.

Really love GT Sports lighting and shaderwork though, there are some parts I saw that were lifelike, and I'm talking gameplay.

Still, it will not be as clean as Forza 7 on the Xbox One X.

DC looks awful on a 50"+ 4k screen during gameplay in anything but night/heavy weather/snow track races.

Source = myself and my 4k TV. (Unless you sit like 15'+ away.)

You either need glasses or can't speak from actual experience. The IQ and textures beyond 20-30 yards is atrocious at 4k.

The LOD and AF are awful too.

It won't be a million miles apart to be honest and a PS4 Pro will work out a heck of a lot cheaper.

I think GTS will take the overall visuals trophy. I mean it's four years in the making on a single platform so it's not that much of a brag, but it's fair enough.

It's a perfectly valid excuse. Check interviews with Evolution about why they went with 30fps, it was all about the higher graphical fidelity on the cars, tracks and weather effects. It's always a tradeoff to go for a higher framerate so comparing Driveclub with GTS, FM7, PC2 etc without mentioning that DC runs at half the framerate is very strange imo since we have no clue whatsoever how those other games would look maxed out for 30fps.

IMO past GT and Forza's felt slow no matter how fast your car was going. So I have to disagree.

I play DC on my 4k TV and It still looks just as good on a 1080p set or even better.

This screen from a few pages back from GT Sport is my favorite screen in this topic so far. Just so good.

Yeah I'd say GT Sport is the best looking game when compared to Forza 7 and PC's 2. The car models are insanely detailed and the lighting is excellent, one thing PD always get right, making GT look a step above the other games.
