I'm going to need some serious help with the BBI bosses soon, so if you would please please please add me as a friend on PSN: ike7779 -- or if just want to use my pawn:

Account Name: ike7779
Platform: PS4
Pawn name: Peep
Pawn level: 38
Pawn vocation: Sorceress

She's pretty jacked for level 38, 2 third tier elemental buffs already thanks to some lucky drops in Bitterblack.

I got your info up but I'm having trouble with the picture since I'm on mobile GAF at the moment, so ill add your picture when I'm at my computer in a little while.

Played it now for a couple of hours and I'm loving it so far. What a great fighting system and amazing atmosphere. Did the walk to the big city quest in the dark and it was amazing.

I have 2 questions. First, that's bothering me now for a couple of hours, did I do something wrong when I created my character or why does he walk so stupid? Looks like his legs are always one step before his upper body. NPCs doesn't run like that.

https://youtu.be/dKZ5BOQDh4E

Second question. As an amateur, I thought about playing as fighter with a mage as pawn (will post my beautiful pawn later) but now I think about switching to the mystic knight cause I'm scared fighter is the most standard boring class in the game and I will miss out on cool stuff and technics and to switch my mage to a ranger, cause everyone is doing mage as pawn. What do you think?

What are some quick beginner tips one should know when starting out? I don't replay long games like this, so I kind of want to experience the most I can with my one play-through.

Yup. There's also an item in there which is basically useless (
unless you're a dapper 19th century English gent or the penquin from Batman - it's a monocle
) which you can sell for 300,000 coins. Nice for a bit of an early money boost.

Oh wow I totally forgot about the monocle and its price. Thanks for the tip!

Lol at all the chea... boost items in this edition.
Now I found the Queen clothes in my chest with insane statistics. How can I not give her that now, I literally have to. :D 347 magical defense and 245 physical, for a level 10 character. :D

Is there some glamour mechanic in the game that I can let my people something wear just for the look but not statistics?

Honestly once you are OP you will stop caring about stats and focus on looks :D

Also, I wonder how the PS4 community is behaving as far as gifting goes now that the game is out and most people played the game and they should at least be more giving.

But the world is rotten place sometimes, so I'm expecting players to gift each other rocks.

Is it me or is one of the face presets if paired with the right hair literally a clone of Katniss from the Hunger Games?

2 minor things that bother me about this is a lack of a lock on button and walk speed.

Is there any good beginners guides btw? I'm quite early on and have no idea how to manage vocations.

Pawn name: Freia
Pawn level: 20
Pawn vocation: Strider
Additional Details: Your friendly neighborhood strider with skull splitter and downpour volley. High HP and STR for level. At the time of writing in #1 rented strider on PSN. Please add GAF to your friend requests. I have sent requests to everyone in the OP.

I'm quite early on and have no idea how to manage vocations.

Vocations are quite simple, what do you mean by "managing" them? You just pick one and learn different moves within it, eventually you unlock hybrid vocations. Your vocations determine what stats you gain upon leveling up.

I read somewhere that the best thing to do is just swap them about constantly or something? Or is there an OP vocation worth specialising in over the rest?

So, time to add my pawn.

Already have the game from PS+ on PS3 but I don't think I got very far.

I always planned to come back but I have barely touched my PS3 since the PS4 came out.

Is this port worth buying in that case? $30 is good but I'm still really disappointed it's only 30fps. Maybe I'll wait for a sale, I bet it goes to $20 or less around Black Friday.

Don't worry about that at all, it's only for needless min/maxing. Just do whatever you find fun but be aware that Warrior falls off hard in the end-game and Mage is a support class for pawns, don't pick it.

Sort of, but in the reverse way. Once you get to BBI, you can further enhance your equipment, so clothes from early game can be just as useful as late game armours.
Going through the story, I'd focus on practically rather than fashion until it starts getting easier for you.

First big main quest, was amazing, love this game:

I'm sending you a friend request but this is a general notice to everyone: if I see your pawn wearing the Queens Robes, I'll be changing it with the currently available robes. I absolutely despise that outfit. I threw two pawns hanging outside the pawn guild because of it and I'm always kind to pawns.

Don't make me murder them.

I chose mage to start out, but now I'm not too sure. I just started. Should I go back and choose ranger or knight?

If you don't want to min/max, feel free to change vocation at your next opportunity. You can use Augments from this class on any other, so it's no bigger.

Do you know what your end goal is, vocation wise?
I started as a mage, and while the early parts of the game can be brutal, the stats I got in magic helped make my Mystic Knight absolutely lethal.

Sorcerers are fun though. Mages are basically there for heals and buffs, and should only be used until you've maxed the vocation out, or on a pawn.

Yeah, understand that, will change it immediately as soon as I have something better.

Is Into Free back in?

I should give this another chance. Only played like two hours on the PS3.

Any recommended classes? I prefer to get up close and personal. How's the Pro version?

Another quick tip for those trying to sort a build out early without over levelling.

You can nip into bitterblack Isle as early as level 4 and grab the Ring Of Perseverance. It gives you a 50% increase in dicipline points (meaning you can increase your vocation rank and learn special skills quicker) which is great for getting the right build.

There's a couple of hairy bits to get through but as long as you save regularly it should be pretty easy.

I hate to complain, but God do I hate these escorts quests. I also hate these queen's robes because they are much better than what I have but look stupid as shit on my Strider, likely stupid on everything else too. This armor won't last long, right? Like I will replace it hopefully before too long?

Otherwise I'm having fun. So glad the letterboxing and garbage framerate are gone.

Woo-hoo. Finally got an estimated release date. October 20th-30th. For about $10 I can't complain. I'll just stick it out.

My girlfriend is jumping back in to Dragon's Dogma (after spending an unreasonable amount of time with the original version) and would like if people could take her new pawn along to gain quest knowledge. She tried to make him svelte and handsome, for anyone who'd like male pawns that aren't towering, chunky pack mules.

PSN ID: Agacerie
Pawn name: Sofiane
Pawn vocation: Ranger (apt to change)
Pawn level: 43

She'd be happy to take other people's pawns along (and she is thorough in her questing, so they'll likely make gains of their own), so just let me know if you add her and she'll add you back. Thanks!

Cancelled my amazon order; wouldn't get here until the 20th at the earliest. I got a copy from best buy coming this Friday.

Think I'm gonna mix things up a bit and try playing with the UI completely off.

Hired. My id is Wretched_Walrus. Also just hit level 32.

I was gonna comment on that. It may have nice stats for early game, but it is hideous.

Rented several gaffers pawns, got a lot of friend requests so if I didn't rent yet...your time will come 😋

Also I rented a gaffer pawn who got clubbed off a cliff by an ogre and died (the Ogre went off with him), so couldn't rate it. Pretty sure you get the knowledge etc still up to that part. The knowledge not to taunt when on a cliff edge hopefully.

Got my copy today from Amazon. I guess You never know how much you miss a game until you get right back into it after so long and you just can't stop playing. Really thankful for the remaster.

Okay Zeta, add me to the pawn post.

Did you try L1 + R1 instead of one or the other?

Thanks for the advice, that worked! It is L1 + R1.

Just sent a friend request.

On a separate problem, can anyone tell me why none of the friends I've made or have, are appearing on the 'friends' tab? I'm having to do a id search and add them as favourites? I don't see the friends icon on the pawns, and when I send a friend request, I get a message that we're already friends.

So is there anyway to tell if a quest is above my level? I just attempted to investigate the well in the starter town and got absolutely wrecked by lizardmen I could barely put a dent in.

I don't think so. Did you have a full party? You need to cut off their tales first, after that they're pretty easy.
