Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition: Free update arcade mode & more; $40 game+DLC bundle

I think people are not realizing they are saying two different things here.

If I buy the game for $10, do I have access to ALL features, besides stupid cosmetics?
If you buy vanilla SFV you'll have access to all new modes. The DLC characters will not be automatically given to you and you'll have to unlock them with Fight Money (in-game currency you can earn while playing) or buy them with real money.

FM is useless for premium costumes.

When most other fighters do new editions they include all the content released until then for a cheaper price than buying separately.

Stop defending Capcoms shitness. This should have included all content you can pay real money for.
You're being obtuse for no reason despite my very thorough explanation. Other fighters haven't released as many costumes and stages as SFV and packaged them for $40, nor did they include in-game currency to let you earn several of those. I won't bother replying past this post, it's not worth it. Plus I've been very critical of Capcom when they fuck up, you can look at my MvCI posts and several others regarding SFV's pisspoor state when it launched and the months that followed.

Oh you sweet summer child.

Expect to download everything separately. The Story Mode is also a separate download.
Why does everything about this game outside of the game itself have ta suck so badly?

It's less that it's bad and more that maintenance always ends at like 8pmest, worst time for people to download.
I was told each time a patch is released its always something like 8gb+ cause instead of having a normal patch system like every other game ever, they make ya redownload everything that was on the disc + all the previous updates + all the new stuff. Is that wrong?

Pretty much. Last two updates have been like 9 or 10GB IIRC, and are accompanied with the servers going down for like 6 hours or so.

Mainly the major patches that are released through PSN/Steam. The in-game CFN patches have never been bigger than 500 MB at most.

But yeah, the patches do get pretty big. Biggest one I've seen is 11 GB.

Okies looks like I may have ta add "pull ethernet cable" to my release date/price note lol. I wanna play the game the day I bring it home, not a week or more later!

Ok, this feels a little more dampening with my what I wanted. Can't believe I'm now feeling foolish for expecting even all the content and patches up to this point, minus stuff in season passes for another odd reason, on the disc.

With all the patches it's had, and for those who have nearly everything the game has to offer up to now, how big is SFV supposed to be on a hard-drive?

I'd like the game to not be updated in the shitty way it is now with this new update

Is that too much to ask?

*Looks at Capcom

Probably

Free updates are shitty.

I'm talking more about how they have to update the game because of how the engine/game is designed. At least on Steam, I can't speak to the PS4 version. But having to update 8-10 gigs every single time the game updates IS unnecessary.

AE on-disc functionally can not exist without a day one patch. The update launches on the same day as the disc, and the disc will obviously have to be printed before the patch launches.

Really curious how that Kikosho V-trigger seems to be on a timer.
See Urien or Ibuki for examples of how that works.

I never expected all the premium costumes and stages to come with all the characters on a $40 disc.

But I would appreciate it if the costumes and stages got a good discount sale from time to time. The prices are outrageous, this isn't LoL.

Like, everytime I've even considered buying a costume I really like (the nostalgia costumes, for example) I'm like "no, wait, that's fucking dumb. I could buy a whole new game for the price of 1-3 skins (depending on the platform, sales, etc)

5 skins for $20 is insane. To think I thought 4 skins for $5 was too much last gen.

I wonder how much time/effort the costumes cost to make as compared to other games that do aesthetic DLC. Of course there are also subsidizing the fact the people potentially don't have to purchase characters.

I just really hope I don't have to wait until the end of the games life to get some of the limited time content. If there's really one thing I can say I dislike about how they've handled this games economy it would be that stuff.

A question, can you purchase individual character costumes from the Playstation website, or can you only do that from within the game? Not at home at the moment.

I'm cool with the pricing for the most part, I just want there to be a stage and character season pass, don't care about the battle costumes

Unless they're special bundles, you can only purchase individual costumes in the in game store.

I don’t care about them given to me if I can unlock ALL the characters after just paying $10 for the base game, isn’t Fight Money in game money which is essentially free?...thats literally all I’ve been asking, but I got a back and forth between multiple people.

On Steam, I'm at about 17GB but I don't have the General Story installed, which is another 7.5GB

Yes, theoretically you can get the base game for $10 and have that be all that you spent on this game, and unlock all season 1 & 2 & all future characters with fight money over the course of time. How long it will take you to do that is another matter.

You will be taking the longest road since it's 1.8 million FM needed to unlock 18 characters potentially. :p Still, you can buy the base game and unlock 6 characters in a fairly short amount of time. The key is unlocking characters as quickly as possible since it get easier to amass FM when you have a large amount of characters.
