I bought the McCree skin and I don't regret it.

I would have preferred a more raw mechanical arm rather than McCree borrowing Nero's Devil Bringer and it's hard to beat McCree's Blackwatch Revolver, but otherwise, this is the McCree skin I've been waiting for. It's perfect.

Just discovered you can really fuck with the bosses in Junkenstein custom games. I made Junkenstein spawn on the ground cause I Icewall'd his balcony.

Screw this, I'm saving up for a scuf. No more of this tinkering, trying to get the best control scheme for a clearly pc made game. By God, I will have my paddles!
 
Anyone else given up on competitive as a game mode? After taking a break and coming back for the new event I feel like OW in it's current state has way too many problems for me to want to commit the level of intensity and concentration required for competitive play. I end up enjoying the game way more when I treat it as a goofy qp shooter with a podcast or movie on in the background. Fuck composition, communication and the rest of that jazz, just let me play as Soldier and rank up gold medals please :)

I play comp every once in a while but not often enough to counter act rank decay. Just when I'm in the mood for something different.

The only reason I was initially interested was ostensibly higher quality games, but it's not really the case. I'm too old to go pro so there's no end game for me. Most of my friends have quit Overwatch so there's no one to impress in my own social circle (not that they would be in the first place but still). The only 'useful' thing I could use MMR for is waggling it around on Neogaf when Overwatch comes up in general gaming.

The game when played "correctly" is just not that great anyway. I don't get the same rush from well executed teamwork like I did in Teamfortress or Counter Strike. People hitting their Q button in the right amounts is kind of an empty feeling. I get more joy from individual outplays--landing some sick shots or something similar. With DM and skirmish custom games I can do that whenever.

I've completely stopped following this game, so bear with me if this has been discussed to death, but I'm surprised to see Doomfist has one of the lowest pick and win rates in the game. I thought he looked so overpowered on reveal, but I played him for the first time, and while his kit is fun I felt like I was completely useless.

They basically went to the opposite extreme and reduced his hit box, among other things.

Watched the vod of GC Busan vs C9 Kongdoo. Looked like Envyus vs a random NA team. How do Koreans do this? Top teams out of nowhere. Both Kongdoo and Lunatic Hai were considered as the best before, but they still got completely destroyed by a newcomer. On the other hand Busan lost a few weeks ago to Runaway. ��
 
I got Symmetra's Dragon skin in my second lootbox, so I'm happy now.

Speaking of her, why was there a Symmetra on both teams in every quick play match I played last night? It's not even like all of them had the new skin. I've not played since Summer Games, so I'm a bit out of the loop.

The scene is young enough and the talent pool in Korea is absurdly deep due to how their culture works around esports. That's really it.

Endless mode is tons of fun. Torb is pretty amazing in this mode. Tossing armor and using Ults all day. Got to 3 stars on Normal before it became a Hogfest. It gets nuts.

Man, they need a permananet mode like this for real.
 
How do stars work? I can't remember now.

And yeah, Torbjorn is fun. I was just running around using my secondary fire and popping my ult every 20 seconds basically. Where is the best place for the turret? I was putting it on the bridge at the left (where the gate and Symmetra spawns), but I'm guessing there's a better place.

I hate how Hanzo is in the default Junkenstein mode. If you're not fast enough to select your character(and if you suck at him) and the other 3 are already chosen... well, sucks to be you I guess.

They really should have added more heroes in the endless mode though, like Reinhardt or Dva. I feel like they would have been pretty fun in there.

Torb's new skin is fucking amazing. I think this will be my new perm skin for him until something better comes along. It's so detailed.

Also, Mei's hopping emote actually makes her hop forward. LOVE IT

Yea, I don't get why they limited heroes in Endless. It gets hectic no matter what so I'm not sure there are better heroes here or there.

Mei: Ice wall door. Can self heal.
Winston: Practically constant primal rage for knocking back Zomnics. Can self heal with his ult, too.
Symmetra: Turrets slow down enemies and damage them. Shield generator for shields.
Bastion: Can just shed through Zomnics.

I feel like that would maybe be the ideal (broken) team comp.

Maybe only allow them in Hard and Legendary modes. Seems like you can still get trashed that way.

Ha, as a sort of "think you can break the game? We'll break you" type of thing.

Being able to pick from all the heroes was a great addition to Uprising though.
 
Maybe I’m being too optimistic. But the limitations could be just for variety over 3 weeks. For all we know the limitations could be different or even completely lifted next Tuesday.

Reinhardt narrating himself would have been great.
 
2-10 yesterday.

when you let others play support.

just looked on overtrack and had a game where i was soldier/mccree. they were like i wasn't doing anything. Checked overtrack.
then i see why the team didn't do anything. the mercy kept ressing the lucio.. he died 14 times. she res him 7 times.
One of the tank didn't do much. No kills but maybe 2 or 3 assist lol dva was putting in work with 13-3.

They nerfed Mercy's ult too much. They should have the rez cooldown reset to 30 once popping the ult. The problem before was the timeline looked like this:


  • Pre-ult rez
  • Ult: 0 seconds rez
  • Ult: 10 seconds rez
  • Ult: 20 seconds rez
  • Ult/After: 30 seconds rez
That meant any halfway decent Mercy could potentially rez the equivalent of her entire team each time she popped her ult. They go from 5 down to 1 or possibly 2, lol. Three within a 30 second ult seems fair.

Edit: Looks like they changed this already on PTR to refresh rez on ult.

That's an improvement, but frankly I'd like her beams to do something a bit more ultimate than having a long range to 1 target before branching to others. If yellow did +100% healing and blue did +30% damage boost - now we're talking.

Let the yellow beam actually burst heal up a tank, let the blue beam do the same damage boost as Orisa's with a shittier range, I say. Otherwise the most valuable thing about Valk remains the rez CD reset.
