I got 60 bucks when they didnt deliver my Ps4 on launch day. UPS normally came around dinner time, it came the next day midday so it was worth it waiting like half a day to get a free game out of it. Never pre ordered a game from them from what I recall.

I genuinely wish there was a way to determine if this sort of thing is AMAZON or CARRIER.
I get the sense it is carrier if only because of my experience with multiple services, including Amazon.
With that said, if you use DHL as a company... you will never receive my money because I often have difficulty receiving my product.

My UPS tracking said a day delay, so it was coming Monday.

Did a Livechat with Amazon, they talked to UPS and supposedly got it changed to today.

Tracking info still shows Monday and the package is in Memphis, 3 hours from me.

It's strange to me that so many people have had issues with Amazon pre-orders. I've been pre-ordering game through them for years and haven't had any issues so far. If I don't get my copy of Mario today, this'll be a first.

First time I've had a problem with an amazon pre-order. It said delivering today up until half an hour ago and now it's telling 27-31 and to come back for options if it does not arrive by Nov. 1. Frustrating.

I'll be tempted to go digital and just return the physical copy if it doesn't come tomorrow. Would miss the prime discount that way, sadly.

Guys, Amazon has been doing this for a while now.

They promise release date delivery with Prime and then blow it, delaying it for a few days.

This most recently happened with South Park: Fractured But Whole, and as far back as Pokemon Sun and Moon (which came 4 days late).

I'm using Best Buy GCU from now on.

I've actually had Prime Parcels that were supposed due the next day come later than something ordered to the same address by my family member with regular amazon shipping

Dude, its a GOOD thing when this happens. Go buy a copy from walmart. Once the amazon copy arrives, return it at walmart to get your walmart purchase refunded yet still have itnlaunch day.

My Mario Odyssey amazon order got delayed too. I complained to their support and they gave me a $20 credit. That combined with the prime discount made my copy essentially $31. I am already playing my walmart copy and will return the amazon one at walmart whenever it shows up.

Yall act like you have no recourse. I get it when its a LE or something like the SNES classic, but with a mass produced, easily obtainable thing like a regular edition of a game? Take the win.

Also, when you "swear someone off", maybe try sticking to your guns instead of continuing to patron that establishment. I swore off Madden after Madden 25, swore off CoD after Ghosts. And to this day I havent touched either franchise since.

I ordered using free shipping (no prime) and I got it early this morning. Usually takes a week or so for a new release to arrive with free shipping.

Seems completely random. Guess I got lucky this time.

I feel your pain sir, this was me with the Switch came out. I literally bought every accessory, botw, bomberman........surprise surprise day of delivery - "sorry for the unexpected delay"

I do believe I waited 3 extra tormenting days when in reality and as much as I want to blame the system know that if I want this avoided, STORE PICKUP DAY OF RELEASE.

It's not your fault the system should work right, it just doesn't, so do like me get yourself a best buy gamers club and pick it up.


I had a problem last night at the 9pm PAC time release at Best Buy. For some reason my process was still stuck in pending. But because I went to the store they happened to have several backups which they could cancel my online order and make me payout for the game on spot, which to be fair WORTH IT!

Delivery to your house is bullshit, it's been bullshit forever. In-Store pickup is your always your best chance even when shit goes sideways.

Mine hasn’t arrived yet. It’s 7:40pm here but there is still time. I wouldn’t be as frustrated if Amazon said it was delayed until tomorrow, but at 11:30AM I received a text saying it had been delivered by the Amazon carrier service. I was home all day so I know it wasn’t delivered. Also sometimes amazon take a picture of where the package iwas placed and they didn’t do that this time. False delivery confirm happens at least once every ten orders of mine. I will get a delivery confirmation but the package then shows up the next day.

I’m not worried the package was stolen because this happens a lot. I just don’t like the false confirm.

My AC Origins / Mario Odyssey preorder failed to show today by 8:00 PM. Called customer service, asked for a supervisor, demanded a refund. Got a full refund, including the 20% discount (so I turned a profit), and he said if the games show I don’t have to return them. Annoying, but in the end I think I won.

I gave up on them when I ordered Yakuza 0 and they had to resend it to me 4 times before I got a copy that wasn't dented to hell, then I tried with Kiwami and the first one was smashed -- went immediately over to Walmart and bought it off the shelf. With 0 I explicitly told them twice to send it to me in a cardboard box, not a mailer. Didn't listen.

yep, mine missed the "arriving by 8pm" delivery. Now says anytime between the 28th and the 31st. Im on Live Chat now, agent has said hello, thank you greeting stuff, yadda ydadda, and has since disappeared and is no longer responding to me....

Edit: theu replied a little after this post. They guaranteed delivery tomorrow morning and gave an additional 20% off the order

Folks can say what they want about amazon, but in my many years of experience I found them a joy to buy from. There's occasional blips but that happens with any store. They're just no fuss no muss on returns or exchanges, it's just never been an issue once and I've spent thousands upon thousands.

I even learned and used to my advantage that if you're in the TV market and call after you purchased a TV saying you have spotted the same TV for a bit cheaper, they will knock money off. They did it with my Sony X800D, the dude came back and asked if knocking 150 off the price would be sufficient, I was like hell ya man.

Look it up, you'll see they state since the TV market is so competitive they have some leeway on some deals and cutting some prices down.

Sorry I went a bit off the path there but I think Amazon is awesome, my favorite place to shop.

For myself, it was because I work from 9am to 9pm today. I knew I wouldn’t have time to go to the store. I was hoping it’ll be home by the time I get home. Tomorrow I’m traveling. So there are reasons for online purchases. I bet it is convenience that makes most people do it. Going to the store can be time consuming for some.

I’m grateful for digital downloads.
