Awesome. Would love to play Gran Turismo 5/6 with a solid framerate in the future.

Great progress, though I'm disappointed MGS4 wasn't on the list. Wouldn't surprise me if it's the hardest game to get running on there if Konami never bothered porting it

Agreed, it seems to be the only way to play it too. I doubt my overheating ps3 could even get through it.

Someone work on getting networking going. Preserve Demon Souls and other games without online elements.

That's like, legal?

Yup and literally everyone shit talked them for it because their excuse was that they weren't playing it how it was supposed to be played.

Both Patreon and the emulator devs knew they were in the right but still complied because Altus would have been assholes about it.

I know that it's a long way from what it needs to be but that's still really impressive.

Sony should be out there seeing of it could be worth hiring them, it certainly wouldn't be the first time they've done that.

I don't understand how 2nd runner got a remake(or remaster?) before MGS4. That's one of the ps3 big tittles that could use a facelift. I remember it having some ugly textures.

Oh yea, I remember this. Sad indeed, I guess. Really the internet should have flooded with streamers emulating it and forced Atlus to accept that their baby has gone to college. Streamkrieg

Yea maybe, Idk I feel like if you're talented enough to be working on this then you don't need a job offer from Sony lol.

According to CPU benchmark it is about as powerful as a i5 2500k.

Personally I never got it to work, but for technical reasons unrelated to the throughput of my machine. I think it's worth testing if you want to play it but beware there's a lot of configuration to be done.

6700hq here btw

good job, 10 years to reach the intro of most games, maybe in 30 years PC gamers will be able to play almost all ps3 exclusives like they are supposed to be played

good luck getting Bloodborne on PC, maybe my grandchildren will enjoy it on PC Mustard Race

Would you really count it as "10 years to reach" when the development only started 5 years ago though?

If I made a sandwich and ate it a year later I wouldn't say it took me a year to eat.

Haha what a scrub tier salame

How exactly does that work?

It runs on pure magic.

In seriousness, I'm guessing it's because there are a number of different games for it in varying CPU/GPU intensities. Since it's an environment to run games rather than a game itself, the requirements to run the program itself is pretty much just "is it a working PC?". If you can name a specific game you'd like to play on it then it's easier to figure out what you'll need.

Whats the GPU/CPU/Ram requirements to run this emulator again?
https://rpcs3.net/quickstart

64-Bit Windows or Linux OS
CPU with SSSE3 support
A GPU with OGL 4.3 support (Vulkan and DX12 are also available)

That's it, to 'run' the emulator but depending on your PC and/or the game you might have one frame per second, if at all.
If will take several months and probably years till the emulator and the hardware is at a point you can play most PS3 titles at their native framerate and without image artifacts.

But Demons Souls seems to run 'perfectly' with an 7700K:
