Woah! Super cool. A throwback to the childhood big time, glad I'll be able to play on my Xbox!

As I thought, a year later from PS4 release. Looks like Sony paid For 1-year exclusivity. If Spyro collection is real, I think it will also release in similar manner.

I'm really pleased this is finally happening, it's a fantastic collection of games and my family have had a lot of fun with the PS4 versions. I'd still happily swap all three of them for CTR though, that's the best of the bunch for me!!

Are these the first Naughty Dog games on Nintendo and Xbox or has it maybe happened years ago in the early days of the studio? I know it os for Xbox but I don't think they ever worked with Nintendo?

Also will there be outrage at the way Sony announced this first never giving us a solid answer when new? Or the outrage of moneyhating this the way Microsoft gets blasted in the same way?

Crash has been on Gamecube at least as far as my memory goes.

I never really understood why Crash was so awesome. I might have been too old when it was popular. People really seemed to grasp onto this though. I will buy when it's on sale.

This isn't ordinary moneyhating. Sony came to Activision. Sony provided to Activision a source-codes for Crash 1,2,3 to be remade. Due to the way the rights work for Crash 1-3, if Sony didn't approach them or agree to it, Activision would not be allowed to make these at all.

Here is the proof that Sony came to Activision :

You really thought it was a permanent exclusive? I"m staggered anyone could think that. It's Activision.
In my defense, Crash went missing in action for almost a decade and had 2 games cancelled in secret. His future certainly looked like one where a major first party would have had to pick up the pieces to make him relevant again.
In some ways, it still holds true. No other platform holder was interested in promoting him, hence why he kept showing up in every Playstation event up until the trilogy was officially revealed.

4K X Version thanks. Glad I waited.

Same deal. I was about to snap this up for my PS4 just the other week but I'll take the 4k X version instead thanks. The X is a beast :D.

I'll probably pick this up sometime for Switch, but what I'm really looking for is that Spyro trilogy. Here's hoping those rumors are true.

I already have 2 and 3 digitally so it'll likely be a while before so feel ok paying for it personally. However I'm a big fan of more people getting to play it as I love the series

Remember telling a coworker that it'll be coming to other platforms soon since it doesn't have the console/PS4 exclusive stamp on it.. he didn't believe me... if I could see his face now :) glad others will get to finally play this, such a great collection and had a great load of fun playing it. Will be buying the Switch version just to support the game so that we'll get more Crash games.

Some people wanted to believe it was exclusive

The crash games on gamecube werent made by naughty dog.

I’m sorry, but that tweet is fake. Try to click on it, doesn’t exist anymore. Would be weird for Sony to write about it and then delete it.

We’ve first heard about this now. Either that, or it has been the greatest public secret.

There was a lot of back and forth around the launch and even before then. And a few weeks ago we got that leak of spyro being announced this e3 and crash coming to other consoles in july. But no, there hasnt been any real confirmation till now

this doesn't belong in there, imagine Halo MCC coming to all platforms, that's awful news, i know many will jump on me and say " why don't you want more players to enjoy the game, blah blah blah"

this is another reason as to why i don't want a Remastered Demon's souls, it belongs to playstation, lets keep it that way

You can’t compare them like that since crash never have been an exclusive title. He has been on both Nintendo and Xbox before. The reason he was on PlayStation first was because at the time there really weren’t any other popular consoles that could run the game.

Halo for Xbox is more like God or War on PlayStation than crash that has been on other platforms.

So yes he belongs there. Would be weird to have the older titles and not this on Xbox.

Thats not even a proper comparison. MS owns halo, flat out. Its their IP. Sony sold the rights of crash and spyro to activision.

if a game released originally on one console, it should remain exclusive to that console, even if the sequels came to other consoles which is a bad thing in my opinion, if they wanted to remake the original game which was released on one console, they should stick to the original platform because that's where it belongs

i'm not talking about who owns the IP, i know that they can release it on whatever they want, but it doesn't feel right, imagine Microsoft stepping out of the console market( might happen soon thanks to the fusion of Xbox and PC) and then they start releasing their games to all platforms, Halo on Playstation and Nintendo won't feel right

i'm sure many will agree with me they are just afraid to come out and say it, and to prove that, remember what happened with Rise of the Tomb raider when it was announced as an Xbox exclusive ? everyone freaked out because Tomb Raider started on Playstation so if it's gonna be an exclusive it better be on it's original home, and when Crash trilogy was announced as an exclusive to Playstation, everyone was fine with it because Crash's home is the playstation

you can disagree with me all you want, that's just my opinion

By that logic it should be re released on ps 1, since it didn’t come for PS4.

Sounds like you are the type of player that suffers from losing exclusives, since it’s a good triumph card in discussions, which to me is a sad mentality. The more a game becomes available to all the better.

Does your gameplay get affected by its available on pc, switch and Xbox? Does the value of the gameplay decrease because of that? If you can say yes, then I’m really sorry for you.

Luckily your opinion is based on nonsense.
And Tomb Raider didn't start out as a PlayStation game, it was developed as a Saturn exclusive at one point then transitioned to multiplatform, it's always been on PC.

That is not what got people upset. It was a sequel to a multiplatform game, meant to be a multiplatform game and became a timed exclusive. Announced as a full exclusive at first.

This Crash game wouldn't have been possible without Sony reaching out to Activision, and the timed exclusivity was all they agreed to. Not even comparable.

What does annoy me a bit is some people who are all against exclusives in this thread, but very enthusiastic about the prospect of MS buying out EA or Ubisoft. And rest assured, a lot of them were also supportive of MS moneyhatting Squeenix for RotTR too...

Sonic Heroes, Sonic Advance 1-3, Sonic Rush 1-3, Sonic Colours, Sonic Generations (+3DS game of same name), Sonic Forces, Sonic Unleashed (+ Wii game of same name), Sonic Secret Rings, Sonic Black Knight, Sonic 4, Sonic Mania... the world must be supremely strange for you. Also it is not true everyone was fine with Crash Trilogy being exclusive to PS4. Remakes of games I own are not sufficient to make me buy a console, but I would very much have liked to support a major effort in 3D platforming with my wallet right away. I will do just that with the Switch or (if the Switch version has issues) the Xbox One version now.

Do you guys think that Activision will keep pushing Crash as a series or is all this a fast cash-grab that will fade away in a couple of years? Sure, the games are selling (much) better than expected and we are getting all kinds of Crash merchandise but Activision also seem to be testing the waters with Spyro and other series. I don't know if they're fully committed to actually fund developement of a completely new Crash game. I hope that the N. Sane Trilogy is just the beginning though.

Butttttttttttt you understand how games work, right? Like, games are business. Businesses need to make money...

I was pissed when the Capcom 5 back-cat for GameCube ended up on other consoles, but imagine how much Capcom would have lost if Res4 was JUST a gc exclusive?

I think that the remaster was to test the market to see if crash was still viable, so I’m pretty sure they will continue to make it.

They will agree because they know shit. ROTR was announced as multplatform title on Phil Rogers blog 5 years ago. It is your opinion, but opinions can be wrong. Crash never was announced as "exclusive" or "console exclusive". Sony strictly said "FIRST" on PlayStation. It was so obvious then it would be on other platforms. Btw. look at my post above. It is explained very well. ROTR and Crash deals aren't similar in any possible way. Crash remasters wouldn't exist without Sony because Sony has the the source codes.

Same thing will happen with first three Spyros. Sony has the source codes.

Yes, that would be the logical thing to do. I'm just not sure about Activisions reaction to the success Crash had. It was like "This old forgotten mascot sold great, much better than we expected! Do we have more old characters we can revive like this?". Almost like they don't understand that Crash popularity is quite unique among the old PS platformers and it will be hard to duplicate that success.

But there was a rumour about a new game next year and a 5-year plan for the series, so perhaps my gut feeling is wrong.

That's cool, I'm sure it'll find an audience on other platforms too.

I'm sure they've got something in the pipeline after how well it all went down. With any luck, something that hews more closely to the originals over chasing modern trends.
