I always planned to get Detroit Become Human, but held off on pre-ordering it because it just had a placeholder date instead of a real release date. Then Sony had that spend $100 get $15 deal, so I pre-ordered Detroit and GoW. The very next day, I read about the release date. Heh! I must have telepathetic powers.

I am interested in this seeing as though I haven't played heavy rain or beyond two souls. I think it'll be a good time to jump into this genre. I will admit the tech demos for Heavy Rain had my Jaw on the floor, but I was younger and a bit turned off by the idea that you didn't really control the character other than these decision trees.

I've grown up a bit since those days and have embraced many more types of games than just the obligatory shooting, fighting and platforming genres. I think this game might get me into this one.

Not a day 1 purchase for me, I'll wait for reviews but i plan on picking it up.

Hah, I can't simply forget the techdemo David Cage showed and the stuff he said. "This was done in just a few weeks! 1 million polygon characters! Final product should look better since we'll have more time to work on it". L-O-L.

I will eventually play, but... dude was definitely high when he stated the above.

You should checkout Until Dawn as well, hopefully QD were tasked to play it because they did a fantastic job with how they handled the genre.

Are these the same guys who made " Until Dawn " ? Luv that gm to death, was fresh and unique when it came out, wonder what they are up to now.

Nope. Until Dawn was Supermassive. They did a couple PSVR exclusives, and a choose your own adventure type game called Hidden Agenda.

Having played the game I am still a little eh on it. Need to see some exciting trailers. Thankfully have it reserved for CAD$55 so if I decide to keep it its like half the regular price.

Shame, I was really expecting a sequel, or at Least a new Story with same gameplay/mechanics.

You already got your answer but to give you an idea of what these guys have done is Heavy Rain and Beyond Two Souls

Awesome, these guys never disappoint..day 1 it is !

So... what does this mean for my Spider-man game, that I was expecting in june?
I got an email from Target the other day with the subject line:

Your Preorder Has A New Release Date

We wanted to let you know that the release date has changed for the item that you preordered. The new release date is Monday, December 31, 2018. No action is needed on your part – we just wanted to keep you in the loop! View order details to see when it should arrive.

affected item

Will definitely buy it, mostly because my wife really love games like this and she loved Heavy Rain. I thought it was interesting and it seems like a great game to play together with people.

Isn't this basically just a placeholder that says "no official release date has been set yet/it has been delayed, but should appear this year"? Having said that, I'm kind of worried how little we've seen of actual gameplay so far. That, and the QTE-laden E3 trailer, but I hope they took notice how much people generally seemed to dislike those.

Yeah that's 100% a placeholder.

I'm down for this. I enjoyed HR and BTS quite a bit. The g/f likes to watch me play story heavy games that allows her to choose different options for different outcomes, etc., so this will be a perfect game for the two of us to engage in together.

There are some new screenshots and information here, it's in Japanese but google translate works well enough.

Those screenshots look kinda good IMO. They seemingly dont use a too complex lighting system but it's good enough if they are targetting stable 30 FPS.

I also think the interface will change multiple times before release - it looks kinda weird at times in this stage at least.

this is being sent out to die as Dark Souls Remastered will sell millions more than this cringy Cage redundant game

Mostly a different audience and many enjoy Cage games despite the online hate group he has after him. I think it looks really interesting , has a Blade Runner vibe.

what "blade runner" vibe? just the androids? world is nothing like it as cage dreams of this attempting to be the near future instead of decrepit LA with trash and overpopulation, and skyscraper-size marketing billboards to target every single human and droid

As usual I was typing out of my ass before thinking. I should have phrased that very differently.

I don't want these features taken away for people who want them, just games that have heavy use of them to have options to turn them off for folks like me. I get that I'm in a small minority of people, but I feel there isn't enough awareness in the dev community in regards to folks with major physical disadvantages such as myself. Been playing games my whole life and for the MOST part never had issues until motion crap started rising in popularity.
Judging by the last 2 PS4 titles from QD (although they are remasters) you're out of luck.

That being said, they have no motion controls. The only tricky controls they have is moving the sticks around to pick between certain actions (like a half circle to grab something) which I don't see them offering an alternative to. Maybe the spam triangle or whatever to perform an action could get frustrating though.

I have this preordered, but it's a crime that they only offer the 70 bucks digital deluxe edition here and that the big bonus selling point is Heavy Rain, which I already own.

Wow I was thinking the exact opposite. I find these guys always drop the ball; selling a narrative based game with terrible narratives.
Definitely waiting for good reviews and a discount.

Stuff they make is narrative but that's why they different in the market when they launch once in 4-5 yr span with unique Movie/TV story driven gms..type of, kick back and relax and go with the flow..

It's collector's item of a gm in books, that cannot be missed.

I'm confused by your post. What do you mean "They" have no motion controls?

I think our definitions of motion controls are different, my definition: wave your controller around using the gyroscopes to perform an action. Moving the thumbstick around in a circle is no motion control for me.
That's what I meant, QD games (the developers games) have no motion controls.

I think I only buy Cage games cause they are good tech demos. The campiness is the icing on top. I should play Until Dawn since I hear that dev out Caged Cage.

But they do...

I'm very much looking forward to this game and as a layman I can only begin to imagine the amount of effort that has gone into it.

It is great that games like these exist. On one hand you have GOW the big summer blockbuster, on the other hand detroit the sci fi artsy movie. Not an essential game but has great production values, interesting story and it is like an interactive movie. Better than a crappy multiplayer game loaded with microtransactions.

I enjoyed Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls, (didn't get around to replaying either of them), and cautiously optimistic about this.
