Sega will release remastered versions of Yakuza 3, Yakuza 4, and Yakuza 5 for PlayStation 4, the latest issue of Dengeki PlayStation reveals.

Here is the Japanese release schedule:

• Yakuza 3 – August 9 for 3,990 yen (includes soundtrack download code)
• Yakuza 4 – Fall 2018
• Yakuza 5 – Spring 2019

The remasterd releases will have improved resolution and frame rates.

Only for Japan for now but there is really no reason to not release them in the West as well. I just hope this time they will add all the content that was cut in the Western version of Yakuza 3.

Just what I wanted! I don't even mind I've played them in a funny order, kiwami, zero, six, then likley kiwami 2, 3, 4 and lastly 5. I kinda know how 5 ends with 6 but have no idea what happens in the rest. 60fps please. Love this series.

Day fucking 1. I own 3,4, Dead Souls(I enjoyed it for what it was) and 5 on PS3. And I've played through them many times. So have a complete Yakuza Collection from 0 all the way to 6 will be awesome. Glad Sega is making an attempt with Yakuza. For years when I explained to people how awesome Yakuza is it was always blown off as "So it's GTA in Japan" and it's so much more. So I can't wait. Kiwami 2 in August is going to be tits also

Why would you not play them in release order?

Yakuza 0 is a fine entry point.

Not really sure of the point of remastering PS3 games, just port that shit and call it a day lol. But this is cool, not sure if I'll actually play them all as I've already played the newer and better games and going back seems like it would just lead to burnout... but this is really cool for fans that wanna play it all...

No reason in wasting 4-5 years remaking HD interactions of the series when you can hire a competent company to remaster them while you assist them whenever possible with higher resolution assets and the likes.


The series has to move on, they did wonders with the Origins trilogy (0 - K1 - K2), even giving us a new beginning, more background, inserting more content to be reconned on the Kiwamis and even impacting on 6 (I'm looking at you Pocket Circuit Fighter).

This is BEYOND amazing. It shows how much Nagoshi's team care for the series and it's little details.

But it is time to move on with Shin Ryu ga Gotoku and side projects (maybe Hokuto ga Gotoku 2)

I loved Yakuza 0 but only played about 8 hours of Yakuza Kiwami. Felt like I was playing the same game. Similar to playing the Assasin Creed games (on which I tapped out post Black Flag).

They won't fit all on one bluray. The PS3 games are on bluray, 5 alone is like 25 gigs or so.

Well... they are only 720p with no AA, so they aren't exactly great looking. Plus the framerate is pretty bad in them. Going to 1080p and fixing the fps will be so much better.

So first people are complaining about how not enough games are brought over from Japan, etc. Now that games are, and are being cleaned up, etc we have people complaining about that now too.

Simple way to look at it, some people have only played the games released on PS4, and don't have access to PS3 or don't want to.

It's just cuz Yakuza is having its 15 minutes of fame right now. People have been going bonkers over the recent releases and expressing their willingness to go all in on remasters. In a way, it's friggin great that they actually responded to all the positive fan outcry.

The whole experience of playing it on PS3 is bad. The whole time it felt dirty, not only for the framerate but for the constant need to mash X to verify any single thing in the game. That probably won't get fixed but should.

Excited. My brother got me into this series, but I didn't fully dive into it until Zero and Kiwami. Currently waiting for Kiwami 2 and then I can finally catch up with the series. I just hope Yakuza 4/5/6 will be physical in the states (assuming it is indeed coming here, which I have no reason to think it wouldn't).

1 and 2 remaster was made for ps3. kiwami for ps3 and 4. maybe kiwami 3 4 5 for ps5?

This announcement would be cool and all except the oldest non remade yakuza right now is kenzan. It doesn't even have trophies. Id like to move my whole collection, not just the main entries.
