Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 |OT| Back to black

Attachments seem to matter much more this year as well, so guns can feel pretty week for a while. There's some extreme examples of this in the game, such as the pump action shotgun that takes two shots to kill at even point blank range, until you get an attachment that you don't unlock for a while.

Some operator mods are also really effective. But you're right that guns feel a bit week at first.

Quoting myself earlier in the thread to give some advice. If you want to start using the MOG shotgun, use the pre-made "hunter" class that just has the shotgun and a pistol, and do so every time the map "Slums" comes up. I find it's the best map for the shotgun, and with that class you'll have both the increased range and increased damage attachments. Using those, you can unlock them and the rest of the attachments for custom class setups.

Oh great, look at that ridiculous neon adorned costume. I respect giving people options, but does it need to venture into realm of stupidity ruining the immersion for the rest of us boring people?
1. Call of duty.

2. Realism

You can only pick one.

There are a couple things they really need to address with the PS4 version of Blackout. The first is that when you first land, items on the ground are invisible. It wasn't doing this at the midnight launch, but has been doing it for the next 2 days. I don't know what happened there.

The second is the looting. It takes forever to loot a dead body. It scrolls insanely slowly through the list and also grabs the items slowly. There are so many wasted looting opportunities because you physically can't loot in time before the circle is closing or a sniper is watching.

It sucks they release a new CoD every year, cus this is so damn awesome and would hate to see the playerbase drop next year.

cheers was thinking WTF have they shipped are they adding game modes afterwards. thanks for the info

the UI is kind of confusing. each mode has a quicklink (for example, IX for zombies) and if you click it you automatically go into that game mode. But if you don't use the quicklink and just enter that game mode, all of the options are available

you get used to it after a few rounds, but they could have made it clearer

I've noticed the first one today a few times, also super muddy textures as they stream in. after 30 seconds or so it is fine for the rest of the round though... but not being able to see a gun when someone is potentially in the same room as you, also looking for a gun, sucks

for the second one I haven't had that issue. hold square and then look through items using the arrow keys, works fine for me. i'm on a pro though, not sure if that makes a difference

How fast does it scroll through for you? I complained about this and the 2 people in my team (both on Pros) said it happened to them too. It just scrolls way too slowly and each item being grabbed takes too much time. If you compare it to the PC version, you can grab like 6 items in a second compared to maybe one item per second on console.

yeah the UI terrible, could of easily been much cleaner. its good to play when you get your head round it

Immersion for what? The game is literally full of completely ridiculous over the top shit.

Certain costumes can ruin the look/feel of the game. This is one of the major reasons why I was turned off of playing Gears of War 4 and TF2. The costumes put me out of the experience and made me feel worse playing. It is definitely an odd complaint, but it is one that a number of people have.

Those of us hoping the multiplayer has a healthy player base well into next year.

I hope they don't just abandon it with whatever CoD comes next year. I much prefer the Treyarch titles to IW or Sledgehammer. Especially with Blackout - I am hoping this has a longer life span.

blops 3 was still getting dlc even after IW dropped. Though IW arguably dropped the ball, but thats two shit games in a row (ghosts, IW) so i honestly have no faith in them. Im certain they wont just drop blops4 after whatever iw cooks up next

It’s a fine sign.

It shows that games, wether they have SP or not, can be successful.

There’s plenty of games with campaigns. It’s so sad the majority of us are a bunch of egoists that doesn’t care about anyone else about ourselves, and hates when someone is having fun with something we don’t like.
I completely agree, after all Campaign or no Campaign MP lovers win.
Those Campaign lovers are just a bunch of egoists that doesn’t care about anyone else about ourselves

But lets be real here, this a Treyarch COD, nobody is gonna play the Campaign.
The gamers who prefer their MP don't give two shits about the campaign and gamers who like the MW type full package wouldn't touch the Campaign let alone prestige the MP.

:'( Treyarch Cods are my favorite for their campaigns.

Zombies are done really well this year and I usually don't like zombies

Are they much different compared to last year? Isn’t it just shoot zombies, buy new weapon, open a new area?

I actually though they were “zombie campaigns” as they said in the beginning, so I was a little disappointed

Im curious, I only ever played the zombie mode in IW but the thing that annoyed me was that it felt like it I had to sit through 15-20 minutes of mindlessly easy waves before the game actually got going. Is it still this way or does the action pick up any faster? I´m a big fan of the concept but hated how it was done in IW.

LOL game is doomed for no campaign right?

“Call of Duty®: Black Ops 4 has set a new launch day record as the biggest day one digital release in Activision history. Digital sales for the first day of release broke the franchise record set in 2017 by Call of Duty®: WWII. Released Friday, Black Ops 4 also set a new PlayStation record for day one digital full game sales on PlayStation Store, globally. The title also quickly became the best-selling Activision Xbox One digital game on day one, globally. The first Call of Duty release ever on Blizzard’s Battle.net, the PC version of Black Ops 4 also delivered a new franchise high in which launch day PC digital sales more than doubled year on year”

No one plays cod for campaigns.

So it turns out suppressors are really good in this game, at least in the multiplayer. Not every gun has them as an option, but the ones that do generally don't suffer much of a range penalty. I don't think that's true for Blackout, though. I know suppressors in that mode can cause significant bullet drop.

^I hope they tell us the actual sale numbers soon. I'm really curious how well it's doing.

With last holiday sales having games do bigger numbers and with 50% of those sales being digital i’d say that’s a pretty good metric with being able to say that it’s huge

Tempted for sure, but after the biblical disappointment that WWII was to me, I'm extremely hesitant to buy.

Also, I'm only interested in the PC version, and the player count as well as potential cheating issues have me concerned, too.

I deleted WWII on launch day, just to spite their asses. That game is horrible, and I never got into it.
It solidifies that I may only buy games by Treyarch going forward.

I've played BO4 for about 15 hours now, and I'm hooked.

Seeing everyone's reactions got me to cave. I got it on PC. Last PC CoD I got around launch was Ghosts [insert montage with Eminem music video]. Now I'm waiting for the 53.3 GB to finish. :messenger_neutral: Northeastmnk#1750

WW2 felt way too safe imo

2 hours, and I’m at 60% unbelievable. What happen to the days of booting up a game and playing?

I felt the same way in the past, now they have zombie rush mode where it starts off intense right out the gate. That's only know that place so far but what I really like this time map design and variation between the three

Watched enough streams of this that I bought it. It seems completely solid in every respect, already looking like it'll be a classic in gaming history. Time to get my hands on it and find out if my intuition is right.

I just can't play Solo Blackout. It's so stressful to me, so much so that I end up not having fun even when I win. Which is funny because I think that's the sign of a great BR. I think I'll stick to Squads and Duos just for the sake of my mental wellbeing xD

My trash laptop couldn´t handle the game but fortunately the refunding process was painless. Played a couple games on ps4 now and I learned that I suck ass at blackout despite being pretty good at normal CoD multiplayer. First BR game I´ve ever played but it seems pretty dope.

Also, bonus 1000 brownie points for inclusion of splitscreen multiplayer. Definitely gonna be playing some matches with my roommate.

I feel that the Rampart 17 is pretty weak until you get grip on it. Until then it's just pure luck if you kill someone or not with it (Playing Core)

That I can agree with. It has massive spread on the weapon with some pitiful range, but if you play it similar to how you would play as an SMG, you can shred people. I forget, does it have a QuickDraw attachment?

I think the main advantage of the Rampart is high caliber 1 and 2. By the time you have the second level on there, you're doing more damage even with chest high shots. Add on FMJ, and you can even melt armor wearers.

I think Treyarch really outdid themselves with the weapons in this game. So many pros and cons to each, and so many ways of creating different builds that change the way the game plays, even with just attachments alone.

True, but high damage doesn't mean much if you can't routinely bring it up to use in the midst of a fire fight (or if you miss a good majority of your shots). It is a nice compromise though! Now if only I could hit the broad side of a barn XD

The one thing that can suck about blackout.

Two matches in a row where when i landed all i could find was bandages and ammo so i died within the first forty seconds.
And I didnt even land in a hot zone

People have gotta understand. You gotta attack. Attack. Attack.

But don't get it mistaken. Certain individuals you don't attack. You run from.

I'm talking, if I see you (and believe me, I will) I'll take you down quickly. Why don't you get off the bunk bed, get in front of the TV, and provide some more serious effort into this battle royale?

If you approach me in Blackout I will kill you immediately. </Dr. Disrespect>
