Mexico City is pretty smart. Xbox has managed to keep a pretty decent following in Mexico. Source: Any Gears of War lobby

They released Xb1X less than 1 year ago. I doubt they will announce next xbox this year. I still think 2020 for xbox and 2019 for ps5.
You're probably right. It's unlikely. I hope they announce because my thinking is if they let Sony go first again then they're dooming themselves to another generation of mediocrity.

I think it being set in Mexico indicates one thing....a huge presence of Gears 5.

I don't think we're getting an E3 caliber conference, but I do expect a few announcements, one or two big ones.
Like Rocksteady's next game, perhaps.
Following up on some E3 announcements as well, like battletoads gameplay, dying light 2 info, and more.

I don't think Halo Infinite or Fable will be here though. Those will be saved for E3 2019.

I don't understand the reasoning behind this.
They doomed themselves to being second this gen because of their DRM malarky at the reveal and not enough quality exclusives. Timing of releasing xbo or xbx relative to PS4 or PS4P had nothing to do with it. In fact didn't xbo release one week before ps4 in some places?

Exactly. Seems this argument is being pushed by those who are anxious to see Sony recapture the power crown. MS “must go first” so that Sony can follow with better hardware is the theory I guess. I think the order doesn’t matter really. MS just needs to put out a gamer focused piece of hardware and they’ll be fine. They have already demonstrated the ability to do that with the 1X. They have the blueprint.

Lol there is no "power crown" in the console space and there hasn't been one there since that brief window where the 360 was doing things that PC's (of that era) couldn't.

RTX pretty much kills any chance of us seeing a bleeding-edge console in the near future. The new MS/Sony consoles will probably be based off mid-range PC' parts (again).

Because we all need RTX to support the 1 game that supports it .. what happens if next xbox has AMD ray tracing built in and once again outclasses everything in its price range.

I suspect as always PC fans will post about all the great things they cant afford and dont own.. as if calling out u you like Ferrari is at all similar to owning one.

The industry will barey support RTX and it can barely play any games with ray tracing on at 1080p 60.

The industry cares about selling games to devices that people actually own .. in millions like consoles or ipads or medium range PCs.. we know for absolute sure that will continue and high end PC parts will be under utilised as always.

Xbox Two announcement. MS going to grab next gen by the horns.

Yeah. For sure they want to be first on market considering XboxOne doesn't really sell that well.
They announce it on this event. Then on E3 full explosion of games and then release Q4 2019.
I expect PS5 to be announced early next year while also they will blow up games on E3.

Who will start first will have extra sales on release due to increased amount of coverage for a while.

Because people love to talk about new things and if you announce your thing first then you have time from then until your competitor where people solely talk about your console which creates community, videos etc.

I'd love to hear anything about the next xbox console. Just don't announce the name xbox two as that would be the most asinine name ever. I'm good with going back to xbox 720.

This will surely be where Banjo-Threeie is announced, right before Banjo's anniversary ends?

They could one up sony by announcing the new console on the conference then release it early 2019.

One X was released last year, so I really doubt it.

Wouldn’t benefit that much either compared to One X, unless the price will be at least twice as high, which is way too much for average joe.

One x is still part of the xbox one family which is already 4 years old and it's not like they're going to abandon the one/x after they release their nextbox.

The next Xbox will also be a part of the One family, it will be the structure they will work on forward.

There's DEFINITELY a power crown as of right now though.

NOTE: There's someone with the name "Anti-Gavon West" on these forums?! Awwww! A fan....that's so tender.

"Microsoft’s The Initiative Studio Hires Former Rockstar San Diego Technical Director"
The Initiative has been hiring top-tier talent such as Christian Cantamessa (lead writer and designer for Red Dead Redemption), Brian Westergaard (lead producer for the new God of War), and Dan Neuburger (co-director of Tomb Raider and Rise of the Tomb Raider).

Now they’ve added a new high-profile developer to the roster. Tom Shepherd, who worked at Rockstar San Diego as Technical Director for more than ten years on games like Midnight Club 3, Red Dead Redemption, Max Payne 3 and Grand Theft Auto V.

I doubt they will announce the next Xbox so early, it will kill the Christmas sales.

Maybe a price cut of the Xbox One S & X.

They released One X last year, I doubt they will have a new console next year, let alone talk about it next month.

I guess that they will show the Xbox Cloud thing more deeply, more of the new Halo and Banjo Kazooie
