Wonderful post, Cosmology - but sadly it will most likely fall on deaf ears. I had a similar conversation with a... miserable person on a Discord server I used to be on. They told me to "shut up", "you don't know anything", and "you lack perspective". Apparently, because they called themselves "trans", they had the final word on what was objectively offensive and no one can discuss such. Shortly after, I got a warning and then later that night I was banned (for reasons stating I had insulted ResetEra and SJWs back in June, because they knew I was in the right on the argument they had to find a reason to remove me). Lucid is very much of the same ilk.

The thing you're missing is that in all likelihood, raging IdPol minded SJWs were probably not going to be CDPR customers in the first place. I would argue the vast majority of people who bought, say The Witcher 3, find this to be a really harmless attempt at hashtag humor. This isn't a binary situation, where you either offend everyone or you offend no one. EA pissed off a lot of people who are actually fans and consumers of the Battlefield franchise. GOG pissed off a lot of really fragile individuals who likely do not buy their kinds of games in the first place.

This tiresome attempt to establish an equivalence between Resetera and NeoGAF cannot survive even passing scrutiny. It is completely artificial. On one hand you have authoritarian, even autocratic moderation, on the other you do not. On one hand you have a significant percentage of members who despise rational discourse and debate, on the other you have a marginal fringe group who also cannot stand free rational inquiry.

What is a generalization to you? Are we enablers if we attempt and establish nuance? Or, even point out that there are voices to get CDPR shut down from talking on other places?

There are a few things to be established here:

• Platforms advocating for a shut down regarding talking about these games have little effect since even users on the platform itself want the game.
• Boycotting the game en-masse (And not as a personal stance) has little to no effect on sales. It is therefore only effective in imagination to do this, and platforms like Twitter and elsewhere pick this every time and it has little to no effect either.
• Accusations of doxxing/doxxing attempts in order to vilify the game.

The whole problem with this tweet is not so much that its problematic, its that people are already in doubt because of CDPR's earlier tweet and look at how that went. The real issue is that all these platforms talk a lot, but actually say very little of actual merit.

I wish i could link the pictures from an post in another thread, but that would be a duplicate, so ill just link to the post. (And this one.) We aren't talking about groups and movements pertaining to have a dialogue - We are talking about movements who operate on the ''eye for an eye'' mentality: They feel they are wronged/hurt, so they will get back at them.

This is literally my story + additionally i got banned without explanation from 3 site-related Discords because i was banned on the main site... like 4 months ago. The only other Discord, focussed on Xbox remained open, but as soon as i said anything, i get told that i was just ''jelly/hurt'' that i got banned and i should STFU. Kept my cool the entire convo because it was just inane to deal with. Saved it aswell.

Then there was a now staff membr who was exactly like you. And there is also another user i value highly for his graphics stuff but is more and more involved with things outside that. I mean, telling someone that you dislike the word cocksucker when the user's house got robbed and he obviously is upset...
