I just watched the ending of RDR (1) and I almost shed tears, ok, I need to finish this game, it's personell duty I put in myself. I owe this to me, even if I don't like the gameplay.

I was playing the last one in 4k on the Xbox One X, waiting for this one to come out, and you would be surprised how similar they are.
They have a lot of the same mechanics (legendary animals, bounties, random events, weather changes, huge map, good or bad choices, horse taming, day night cycle, dead-eye, outfits,etc.)
It is just missing the realism aspect (you have a magic horse that never dies and appears anywhere you are, don't have to eat or bathe, no camp upgrades, etc.)

Would that fix the low volume issue during gameplay?
Not really sure you can call it a tutorial, seeing as disposing of bodies is never actually necessary. You can just leave the area. Even if a witness sees it, nothing will come of it unless you stand right next to it. I'm 30 hours in and outside of that mission I've never felt the need to get rid of a body.
It's cool that it's there, but outside of a cool little bit of attention to detail, feeding corpses to pigs has no gameplay value.

The main story is awesome. Excellent narrative experience, one of the best to be found in videogame form. I think games excel when they tell personal stories since the interactivity makes you feel close to the protagonist. After finishing the epilogue, I'm now interested in playing the prequel, which I never finished, since it ties so well with that game.
I'm not a fan of the gameplay, though. I don't like the controls, but I like even less all the downtime the game forces upon you. Sometimes I want to wander around and experience the game world, but others I'm really invested in the story and just want to start the next mission. Too often, that's just not possible without minutes of downtime just getting there by horse or other means. By the end, I was already used to browse the Internet in my tablet while my horse was traveling in cinematic mode, but that's not a good way to experience a videogame. The engine supports fast travel with minimal loading times, and in fact some missions have no issue teleporting you automatically to the other side of the map. Why can't I use the same feature when I'm not in the middle of a mission? There is a fast travel map, but it is poorly implemented, and only available in your camp.
I feel like the game has been tailored to certain players, other Rockstar games are more welcoming to different play styles.

You're still in the starting area hours into the game? That's so false that it can't be seen as anything but trolling. The intro is max 2 hours long. How do you "try" and fail to get past it 4 times?

Found a woman trapped under a horse that passed while riding; It amused me how appreciative and ready for me to ride her to town she was as I made room on my horse and really took in the sheer damage the best I defeated minutes before had on me. I was more blood than man and looked out of a horror story but I was her savior.

Do people actually like the system to upgrade your inventory by hunting way to much? I really hate the upgrade system with the hunting in red dead.. You spend time, finally kill something and its not perfect.. and then u cant find the animal again and u are stuck with low inventory space...

i am about 40% in the game didnt upgrade a single damn thing. have all the guns in the world and swimming in bullets and cash . no idea what the point in all that hunting is . i can just buy shit at stores

100% Completion or just for fun. I really enjoy the hunting in the game. Honestly I haven't done most of the story because I have been working my way through the hunting.

i dont really hate hunting.. but I hate it when i do kill an animal that its not perfect and then i cant do anything with it as I need perfect. dont really like that ad on to the system myself

I searched for Chick Mathews for abit, he was a little tough to find, the tree wasn't but then afterwards I went to that abandoned cabins with the skeletons during the middle of the night and found the ufo.

Go to your tent's chest and you can switch outfits and set which to store on horse. It tells you which button, I think Square on PS.
When on your horse, bring up the item wheel by holding down L1. While continuing to (uncomfortably) hold L1, R1 over and you should see your current gear at the bottom of the wheel. Push and hold down on the left analog stick, still holding L1. Now that your hands are beginning to cramp, you can use L2/R2 to select a different ones. Finally release L1 (but make sure you keep holding down on the stick) to select and change gear.
1500 people worked on the game, yet not one could come up with a better control scheme than this.

Donating a perfect carcass to to Pearson makes the next stew fortify your health core. Big game meat cooked with herbs also greatly fortifies a stat depending on what herb was used.

Chapter 3 missions have been flawless. Yeah they all in end up shootouts for the most part, but the acting, writing and circumstances that surround those missions are so fucking compelling and awesome.
It’s going to be so hard to go to an Ubishit after this let alone most open worlders. I’d rather just play this again. Probably going to wind up on my top 10 of all time.

I gotta know.. is there anyone that actually enjoys riding your horse in this game? I really wish It was designed in a more fun way.. holding x is really slow. Tapping x is reallu non stop tapping unlike zelda that atleast had a boost. All Im doing is playing on my phone while I ride in cinema mode.. I really dont understsnd this design choice :/ and feel its a real shame.. riding the world hard fast could have been fun but its tedious to me atleast

I'm really struggling with riding between towns or meet up points and some O'Driscolls(I have no bounty) just come in some group up on me and start shooting and I die before I can hardly react. I'm not sure if I have enough health but it seems full, I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, I hardly get my gun out and start shooting before I'm dead. Maybe I'm just not good at handling the horse and shooting at the same time.

So after being irked that i haven't seen sadie or abigal or jack but a handful of times (in chapter 3 currently), I googled it and looks like i have the bug where they dont' show up in your camp until chapter 4. very irked by it. i've put in over 30 hours and i'm still on chapter 3. I spend so much time on character development and taking in the story and i've missed out :|

Checked back and forth between HDR and HDR off before i knew about the HDR being “fake”.
It always looked better without for me. HDR is supposed to make brightness and contrast more realistic, however the sun especially always looked dimmed compared to HDR off, which is the opposite to any other game i’ve played with HDR on.
