You know, this was the reason I started lurking GAF about 8-9 years ago.
Everytime I googled for NPD results, it came back with GAF as the source, so eventually I started coming here directly.
Good to know that this wasn't lost.
Also good to know that the 3 consoles are so close in sales.

Looks strange given PS4's dominance.
So US is THAT different.
Also it is November, which is the one (two I guess with December) month that Xbox sells well. Greenberg even called it the playoffs or some shit to say how it doesn't matter that sales are bad the rest of the year because only November and December matter (Greenberg is an idiot).

3-4 years ago Xbox would actually sell most in November.

The fact that the switch sold between the ps4 and Xbox despite having no real Black Friday sales is quite the sales power behind games like Pokémon.

Sony as well as it did goes for sure though, given the Spider-Man bundle it was pretty evident from the beginning those would sell like candy. Meanwhile MS’s once again pushing its minecraft bundle which is overall less value than the Spider-Man. (Though the pricedrops on the X was a welcoming sign.)

Wow ps4 lost a lot of Momentum.

You funny dawg. Only reason why Xbox is that close is because PS4 was supply constrained as usual. Don't be surprised if Xbox beats PS4 in December, you can buy both Xboxs for $100 off.

Must be holding some back for December I guess.

If I had to guess I would say that they already had their sales forecast set for the current PS4 models & will be using the next few months to clear them out & maybe release a 10 or 7nm PS4 in March.

Trust me if they shipped enough $200 Spider-Man units they could have pushed well over 2m. They supply constrained themselves (again) so they don't kill their profit margin. MS kept all bundles at $200 or even less for far longer and never ran out and still lost.

People who are thinking Sony was holding back the November shipment for December are nothing but deluded.

The Nintendo switch will to rekt PS4+XBX1 really hard in December and become the best selling hardware in 2018 for US.

Last Year December included Cyber Monday PS4 barely in 1Million range while Switch at 1.5Million with only Xenoblade 2 LOL.
Smash Ultimate + Switch in December = Rip PS4 and XBX1

All 3 pretty close, and at roughly 1.4 million each, I think that sounds like good November numbers. Good to see all 3 are doing great. Compeition helps the industry gamers!

Surprised PS4 was so low. With all the bundle deals being promoed, you'd think they would have outdid Xbox One and Switch by a mile.

Didn't think Switch would have such a big gain vs last year (+75% is ginormous), and Xbox One holding to last year is pretty good too. No doubt X is helping prop up sales as I don't think people are exactly going bonkers wanting an S(?)

When you consider the X launched last Nov staying relatively flat (-3%) YOY is surprising. I saw some ppl predicting a 25-50% drop for MS this year.

Great showing for all 3 though and I’m sure they are all happy with the revenue flowing in.

All 3 within spitting distance. Basically Console hardware was huge this holiday season and shows the gaming industry is still going strong.

More like they didn't ship enough consoles

Not only that, the black friday and ciber monday deals in europe were like last years´s utter cr*p compared to the US $199 Piderman bundle. It cost here €260 ... €330+ for the pro.

The X could be bought at €300 with 2 or 3 forza games.

Yes the Switch will win December by a large margin, but it should. It's a popular system. The other systems are in their fifth year, and the Switch's biggest game of the year (maybe biggest game of its existence) came out in December.

Lol @ RIP PS4

Switch is killing it. I read that its already closing the gap on PS4 on all time sales in Japan and Smash is doing huge numbers everywhere. December and January should be interesting. I wonder if Nintendo reaches its goal of 40 million by March? That would be insane.

40 million?!?! Are you insane? Aren't they at like 25 million sold now or do I have old numbers?

Is it really that big Switch passes PS4 in Japan? PS4 is hardly big there with only 7 million sold in a country big on portables.

And no way they're reaching 40 million. My guess is 34 mil. And that's big.

I like Switch and want it to sell really well (as much as anyone). PS4, though, is a juggerrnaut. All three platforms are selling really well right now. Glad Switch is selling well and getting lots of software, too.

There is no suck goal.

They target 20mfor FY that ends in March... that means 37.79m if they hit the target at March 2019.

They will probably reach 40m or so between July and September next year.

Either that or they're secretly building components for something else and not focused on PS4. :messenger_sunglasses:

That last part was /s. But really strange that PS4 did not sell way more than MS in the US. They had to have held back, maybe to limit sales below preferred price. I was trying to help a relative find the Spiderman bundle and the thing was sold out everywhere. Literally.

PS2 managed better without a deal last year, so the hype did cut down a bit. Plus PS4 has been down msot of this year while Xbox One has been up so I figured eventually they'd meet.

I think it may be possible the PS4 is last next month like that December 2-3 years ago.

However, I suspect the PS4 with its 2019 exclusives to likely sweep. Switch is looking flat, and the Xbox One outside of Crackdown 3 will likely be focusing on next gen. So next year will likely be completely lopsided. Unless Nintendo has some plans
