Don't be shy to show your inner fanboy in this thread, it's all good. I love all kinds of games and have fond memories from Nintendo, Valve, Origin and more, but my humble personal opinion is that SEGA has the greatest track record of all, from their amazing arcades and home consoles to pioneering 3D games, analog sticks, voice controls, motion controls, touch controls, all kinds of accessories, methods and genres, to online play and even cross platform play before eventually going multiplatform to best serve true non-fanboy gamers as is the inevitable industry future for all, they always seemed to have known what the best approach to any situation is and acted on it way before the other prominent entities in our beloved hobby's business. Still, everyone here has different tastes and I'd like to see members engage with each other in a polite manner and who knows, you might even convince someone your choice is better or at least as good. Note the question is FAVORITE, not BEST (that's SEGA, your opinions aside). I'm sorry not EVERY company is in the poll but I couldn't include all of them, there's apparently a limit, I tried to include what most of you would choose but some like ORIGIN had to be left out!

It seems SEGA is winning for now but that's fairly preliminary, I really hope to see some diverse opinions in here. Don't be shy :)

Capcom, resident evil is my favorite series. Cant wait for Remake.
That's cool, what other Capcom games did you like? I don't think Resident Evil beats Deep Fear but it's a solid 2nd if nobody posts something better.

Treasure.
The untouchable GOAT.
Radiant Silvergun + Gunstar + Sin n Punishment 1 all day everyday.
Oh, interesting choice, though Panzer Dragoon 1 and 2 and Fantasy Zone beat all of those easily. Love treasure!

Remedy Entertainment. Max Payne 1 & 2 are sick, Alan Wake is my second favorite game ever, and Quantum Break has me aching for a sequel. Plus they haven't once included a single microtransaction in their games.
Sam Lake's the coolest. There's my favorite man in gaming right there.

Throw in CD Projekt for my second pick, nice to have a big company promoting DRM-free products, and keeping up the practice of only charging for large expansions, not microcontent like skins.

Well, those R games have nothing on Binary Domain and Blue Stinger respectively but yeah, solid opinion.

Witcher can't hold a candle to Shining Force for me but still good, good companies you chose :)

Thinking about it, i like pretty much all of their catalogue. I also like Devil may cry, Ace attorney, Monster hunter, and what i consider to be some of the most underrated games of all time Ghost trick and Zak and wiki.

Electronic Arts of the late 80s to mid 90s. They made so much good shit, always innovating, bringing new ideas and experiences. Their sports games were in a class by themselves. Of course, this was before they started mailing it in, resting on their laurels, and essentially became the Henry F. Potter of electronic gaming.

I can't think of any company since then that's brought it as consistently as 90s EA.

But I'm also old and sometimes forget where my phone is while I'm holding it, so who knows.

What kinda games made them good? All I remember is sub par fifa and such, when sega put out virtua soccer in arcades and worldwide soccer on saturn, so good.

So far Capcom is winning but not-Capcom have more vote totals so SEGA still has a chance if some gamers start voting already.

I was all aboard the Remedy train for a looooonnnnggg time until Quantum Break. Quantum Break failed by almost all metrics. Story was a mess, the show aspects were a mess, gameplay was pretty unbalanced and frankly pretty boring and the graphics could go from incredible to awful in the same exact session.

Alan Wake was incredible and I hoped we would have seen a sequel immediately after, but QB was a big failure. I hope their newest game is a return to form.

CDProjektRed though. Jeez, they have yet to put any title out that I just straight up don't adore. W1-3 are ALL incredible in their own unique ways and have cemented CDPR as one of my favorite studios of all time. Their passion and devotion to making a great game shows in every release.

Some nice choices there but you must not have played the likes of Altered Beast, Golden Axe, Shining Force, Phantasy Star, Fantasy Zone, Streets of Rage, Worldwide Soccer, etc :)

Oh I did. I love Sega, man. I grew up with Ataris and Nintendos. But my uncle and neighbor had the Segas. I loved coming over to play the Master System and my uncle’s Genesis (and later Sega CDX, that’s how I was lucky to play Snatcher). The first time I OWNED DOOM was on my 32x, on my uncle’s CDX, which he gave to me. I would use the game genie trick to play imports on my Saturn. Marvel Super Heroes, Fighting Vipers, SNK vs Capcom, SF III... I loved the Saturn and Dreamcast, I can’t stress how much I love Sega. But as much as I love Sega, I love Konami games a little bit more. It’s tough, all those Companies on the poll I have fond memories of. Road Rash on the Genesis and PSX? Forget it. I can still hear Soundgarden roaring through my speakers, pumping me up.

Okay, as long as you love SEGA. Poll should let me give it half a vote for that, crap.

Edit: you can vote for more than one guys, I forgot I did that!!!!

Was going to vote Konami but Konami sucks now since Kojima is gone

And Kojima productions haven't produced anything yet ( Death Stranding is still far away we haven't know how good it's going to be)

So Capcom it is

*Resident Evil 2 Remake hype intensifies

You really should play Deep Fear and Blue Stinger, then you'll want remakes of those. Or just HD ports!

EA in 80 90 and early 00 are god tier developer

Red Alert and Comand Conquer alone would win me this poll ..if only they kept Westwood studios alive...

And then there Visceral Studios and Dead Spaces...

And then there's Need for Speed before it went hot garbage...

Bioware at their Golden Age...

And then there's Crytek and Crysis...( Crysis and Crysis Warhead were groundbreaking games back then...

DICE with Batlefield Bad Company....

Star Wars Batlefront before it went crap.....

God damnit EA....

We all know what’s going to happen to Konami on this poll. It’s nice it was even considered.
SquareSoft should be on that poll as well.

i dont like quesitons like this

either ask a dev or publisher. dont mix the two.
Make your own poll guy, I'll vote in it too. It can be a hardware company too so I put OCULUS in there. VR ROCKS. Not as much as SEGA but still. Though OCULUS also fund & publish games too!

Tomorrow I'll make a poll to ask for more poll choices to be allowed, but I put the most important companies I thought deserved to be under SEGA there. Vote for OTHER for now, it's fine!

Also I feel I should mention again everyone can vote for their favorite company and also vote for SEGA, you can put multiple selections before casting your vote.

Looks like the community is correcting itself and after losing the lead to Capcom SEGA is now tied with it. I wonder what it's gonna be by this time tomorrow. See you then!

LucasArts (before gen 7 consoles). So many adventure/point&click, and non-Jedi Star Wars games.

now is SEGA, with CAPCOM right after.

C'mon, we all know the Big N will eventually take the lead here.

I'm still kinda angry at them, but Nintendo gets my vote. I considered voting other and writing in Square or, maybe, Valve. The old EA is also worthy of consideration. When I think about the games that I'm most fond of, Nintendo, Square, and Valve are who come to mind. It's really no contest, though, because Nintendo has consistently published (or developed) some (or most) of the best games of every generation. As much as I hate the Nintendo Online subscription, Super Mario Bros. 3 (even with terrible input lag) is such a great game that it still shines today. That is still one of the best games ever made. All of the Super Mario games are like that, though, well, except for maybe Sunshine (which I love, but most don't). I don't really feel a need to expound on all their great games, but of course there's Zelda. BotW is now my GOAT. Even if we barred mentioning Mario or Zelda in this discussion, we could still talk about Animal Crossing or Pokemon--the other two huge sellers.

Valve gets a mention because even though they don't make games, Half-life and Portal are some of my favorites. It's too bad they left the series to whither. Maybe, some day, when the time is right.

And there's Square, whose Final Fantasy games have been entertaining me for decades. I know they make more than FF, but I'm tired and can't really be bothered to remember all the other good stuff.

Yeah, wrapping this post up and going to go play some XC2.

They create incredible worlds, are always spot on gameplay-wise and level design is also a great quality from them.

Used to be Konami for me but after all this shit they pulled this gen and the lack of new Castlevania games put them on my shit list. So I went with Nintendo since they haven't really pissed me off and been part of my life since Donkey Kong on the Colecovision.
