EVO Apologizes And Cuts Off 'Dead or Alive 6' Stream For Being Too Sexy

This is just bullying. A bunch of people have different values and are from different cultures, and instead of respecting that, a bunch of jerks decided to shame them and then take their ball and go home so that everybody loses. I understand when children do that. It’s a necessary part of learning human interaction - but they grow out of it. Except these are adults, and they didn’t.

I'm not Japanese, but were they explaining boob physics in the game with actual examples? haha, I wonder if it was staged.

I would like to know why these organizers/publishers are so worried of some SJWs, they make up a very small amount of population yet so many people in business are worried about them. There are far more people hating SJWs, pretty sure the organizers themselves hate these SJWs too, but they always give in. I wonder if it’s due to SJWs are the biggest losers in the world and organizwrs are worried that a group of people with nothing to lose would do crazy things that could threaten their safety?

I give him that, he gave the fgc one of the biggest memes to work with. Evo chats today were nothing but core value memes. xD

Happy to hear this. Now I can watch the edifying, wholesome and thoroughly insightful content Evo regularly produce without being tainted by impure thoughts.

People think, accurately or not, that sjw's have the ear of corporate advertisers. Which is a logical conclusion to come to, becuase being "woke" is what so many brand analysts and marketers tell you to do.

Also, in the past few years women have become the most valuable consumer, so brands are cautious about anything they feel will turn off feminists, who to them represent women. EVO doesn't want to risk being seen as a "guy thing" so no more sex

Pathetic. The FGC is the last place I'd expect to see such pandering.

Who books a Dead or Alive promo without expecting some form of thinly-veiled smut? :pie_thinking:

Compared to the shit that's in female singers' music videos, this is PG.

So I guess we're now afraid of T&A?

Worth keeping in mind, EVO is now an actual business, with a vested interest in maintaining sponsor relationships, specifically Disney which airs several of their final rounds on ESPN and Disney XD. Nowadays, not agitating the progressive-agenda crowd is probably in their best interest, while killing the stream and framing it as bad behavior also earns them brownie points with the people mostly likely to be upset.

I go back to my sentiment that EVO probably shouldn't have OK-ed the stream in the first place.

For those asking, the whole stream is still available on Twitch. The segment in question starts around the 2:25:00 mark.

Wow, that was a pretty awesome streaming segment, definitely sexualized, but honestly done in a far better than "titty streamers" at Twitch and it was more done in good fun.
Those women did have some good core values™, if you know what I'm saying. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Honestly, there's nothing wrong with having fun with sexualization and sexual expression, and I'm kinda vary about progressives suddenly becoming prudish and controlling of sexual expression, looking far more like old fashioned conservatives. The free expression of art or of female sexuality tended to be a progressive value not that long ago.

This stream clearly also helped DOA6 sell by a great showing of the Photo Mode. Vlaphor Vlaphor is probably eyeing that mode heavily and intensely.

I was already well aware of that mode being in DOA6. What I'm hoping for is something similar to what was added in DOA5 Ultimate where they let you view the win/lose poses and rotate the camera and such. That's how you get such goodies as this.

I guess I'll be the lone dissenter: they seem like cool ladies, but that behavior was a bit much for the particular context.

For me it's not about male gaze or anything. It's about what you'd expect to see when tuning into an EVO stream.

(I realize Japanese standards for this are almost certainly different; but the EVO organizers are Western.)

So Evo was racist and culturally insensitive?

I mentioned this in related threads, but the Twitch & YouTube stream abruptly ended about 12 minutes early. What they cut was mostly a guy reading from a clipboard, while showing screens of Mouse computer products. The sexy bits all made the Twitch & YouTube videos.

The two gravure models, in their cleavage-revealing tops and booty shorts, were all over the DoA team's Twitter, and it's hard to imagine the EVO people didn't have some idea of the stream's content. If the EVO organization are now this prudish over a slightly pervy stream, broadcasting from 10-11pm PST & 1-2am EST, then they shouldn't have allowed it in the first place.

They're not even attractive. And I've seen much worse on Twitch. This is nothing.

The free cam guy pausing the game at the moment of powerbombing over the poor girl should be fired and sent to jail for that. Big yikes!

That's just tame, getting good angles for pussy/ass-eating is the next level, prude! Stop being a regressive pervert. :messenger_smirking:

I'd like to think most people would find the stream far from egregious, but it's also exactly the type of content certain segments of Western society essentially want to see erased. Considering how EVO now functions as a business, I can understand their concern, even if I don't appreciate it.

As for the photo mode, its reappearance in DoA6 has been confirmed for a few weeks now, unfortunately it sounds to be the same fairly limited feature as was offered in DoA5.

I don't understand businesses and people who give in to the whining of this no-lifers. They are just a neo-Inquisition wannabe, not even videogames consumers, why listen to them?

And people are saying that the extreme left is not all inclusive!?

Here they are fighting for the values of the religious right!
They must be so proud :p
