Pewdiepie Makes Millions More Than Any Other YouTuber

A new study finds that, between merchandising and advertising, PewDiePie makes more money than any other streamer on YouTube by a large margin.

According to a new study, while other streamers make the jump to new platforms, PewDiePie still reigns supreme on YouTube.

The study broke down all of the ways PewDiePie earns money, from merchandising to advertising, and crunched the numbers to find that not only does he outperform other YouTubers in both categories, he does so by a large margin.

First up, merchandise revenue. Purple Moon, the company that conducted the study, makes its estimates by taking the average number of views on YouTube per streamer and comparing it to the streamer’s merchandise costs. Aside from outliers, like a strange drawing of Sonic the Hedgehog, PewDiePie apparently has a lot of fans who like to like to show off their PewDie-Pride. The study estimates that, each month, PewDiePie takes home nearly $7 million dollars in merchandise sales.

He's just a young guy being himself. He drools, he has pimples, and he doesn't edit it out. He's a case of "you get what you see". He's a complete goober and he's the first to point that out. I think most of his popularity comes from the fact that he makes as much fun of himself as he does others.

Until roughly a couple years ago I'd never watched a video of his, which is about the time he was called out by the WSJ as being Hitler or some shit. I watched some of the videos to see for myself as right now everyone people disagree with are literally Hitler, and I found his videos weren't anything. He's probably the least offensive "personality" his age on YouTube.

Analytics obviously don’t rely on self-reporting. Google knows exactly how old the users are, and their ad network would have little value if they were unable to target specific demographics. Analytics are anything but meaningless.

I don't really watch any of these youtubers except maybe a video from time to time of Pewdiepie and some from David Dobrik, both are stupid but funny when you just need a laugh.

On Pewd's popularity tho, I think it's because he seems to be a very humble/down to earth dude that has a goofy sense of humor... people can easily relate to him.

Pewdiepie has a few popular series targeted towards his entire audience.. Pew News where he talks about some hot topics (internet drama, copyright law, youtube drama, etc) and presents his logical and fairly reasonable take on it. Then you have his LWIAY series which is him showing off what his community has done on Reddit. It's actually pretty funny. My personal favorite is his recent Minecraft series where he seems to be working really hard to have a narrative for his solo play that is quite enjoyable. It's not him acting like a complete doofus, he's actually genuinely immersing himself in the game and telling everyone a story.

I hated him back in his early days, but I adore him now. He has really changed a lot for the better and his content is really enjoyable. I just love the fact he does so much with his community.

Pretty much and parents love it also to get there kids on it, so they don't have to deal with there kids. I saw kids as young as 5 year old knowing pretty much all youtube "stars".
