Always used to annoy me when people called it Cross.
I've even heard some people call the Square button Box as well.

Also in Asia releases the circle button is generally "yes" and x button is "no" consistent with the symbols' meaning.Makes sense. Why would something alphabetical be thrown in with non-alphabetical symbols?
