It's a circle jerk of feel good stories. And people in modern day love to be coddled like a toddler. Manbaby central.I just can't, this arms-race to be the most socially-concerned is so disingenuous, so full of overanalytical hot air, it has to be satire ... yet it's not. We are through the looking glass. What have we allowed to happen?
How much soy and jizz this that "journalist" snort when writing that shit up?
Really?i wouldnt even call him a journalist. mentioned this earlier but it's written by a resetera member who admitted he wasn't even a soldier.
Really?
3/4 of that IGN article is about him claiming to be a military vet and it even showed a picture of him in gear in a vehicle.
1 LHow much soy and jizz did that "journalist" snort when writing that shit up?
Oh boy wait til they find out this game has guns in it too
The fact that they had to rip off an article from a month ago because they wanted a piece of that sweet outrage just shows how absolutely desperate they are.
The guy is also an absolute fucking moron. Tried to argue with Sophia Narwitz on Twitter ended up saying that COD is "an active war zone"
Did they complain when the weapon was also part of Metal Gear Solid 3&4?

I’ll go buy a hat and eat it if any REEEEEEsetera member was in combat. Have people shoot real bullets at you and you shoot at people to kill them kinda puts life in perspective. All of a sudden being triggered by anime boobies would be laughable.Do we even know if this guy is an ex-marine? Honest question.
ERA is full of people claiming to be things they aren't so it wouldn't really be a surprise to see someone living a completely fake life as an ex-marine posting on there.
This is an article that the author describes how Call of Duty: Modern Warfare may be portraying the weapon white phosphorous in an irrensponsible way.
Here is some parts of the article:
"White Phosphorus is a material created from the chemical element Phosphorus, which is used in everyday items ranging from matchbooks to fertilizer — but for the purposes of this article, we’ll focus on its use in incendiary weapons. Munitionsarmed with WP are also used for marking targets and screening movement, but even when not used offensively the results are the same: a WP weapon detonates, particles stick to the skin and catch fire; the adhesive nature of these particles makes stopping the fires particularly difficult, and they continue to burn until deprived of oxygen or consumed, making them among the deadliest incendiary weapons in existence. And it doesn't stop there; as your skin is melting and bubbling, the chemical is absorbed into the body through the burn itself, causing extensive damage to your liver and kidneys, eventually resulting in total organ failure. "
"I believe it's perfectly fine to weave a serious narrative about war in video games. But I find Modern Warfare’s use as a killstreak reward a nearsighted glorification of what myself and others consider to be a violation of the laws of armed conflict. Contrary to their overall goals towards realism in its campaign, the multiplayer mode in CoD doesn’t depict the effect White Phosphorus has on the human body in any kind of realistic way -- the developers’ statement in response to their controversial choice to include the weapon actually cited this as a defense. In real life, you don't take mild damage and stagger away, coughing with impaired vision; you scream in agony as you slowly melt while your organs systematically shut down. I don't object to things like WP being examined in games, so long as we depict them as they truly are: a means of causing an extremely painful, slow, and unnecessarily horrific end to a human life. "
"I don’t believe something as legally and morally questionable as White Phosphorus is appropriate in the very specific way Infinity Ward is applying it here. As someone who's seen first-hand what can happen to the human body in combat, I wish Infinity Ward would give this one a bit more consideration. "

I disagree with the article, because i firmly believe that at the of the day this is just a game that people play to have fun.
Sorry if this has already been posted, did not find anything in the search.
he was in the marines but he wasn't a solider. there was a twitter thread of him arguing with another fake soldier
the writer of the article is a REEEsetera member and wasn't even a soldier
It already has. This shit is what replaced it.I'll be happy when traditional gaming media dies.
IGN is write for a retard or what?
Ok... all we know the answer of the question....
and how about this?
Spec OPS the line is a Masterpiece.... and i like how show the atrocity of the war without censored shit.
If we speak of controversial
This scene is better than the crap commercial scene"No Russian" of COD MWF2
TACTICAL NUKE BABY
You don't know that dude's life, maybe there getting a nuke in a COD game is a huge accomplishment! /swhat a degenerate
I'd do Anita over her, tbhSeriously though, which is worse. Using white phosphorus on the battlefield....or misgendering someone on the battlefield?
We should all reflect on this.....ha ha ha. I'm just fucking kidding. Here's some Emma Roberts for ya.
I didn’t know they recruit in the military now.I wonder how this person watches movies, or TV, or reads books, or listen to music , or lives life.
Somebody call an Excorcist.I'd do Anita over her, tbh
What if the killstreak reward was Sarin Gas or some similar chemical or biological weapon? I take the writer's point. We should feel ..conflicted.. about joyously dumping nerve gas (or WP) on enemy combatants, who are ultimately are just doing the same thing our soldiers are doing - fighting for our country and for what our leaders are saying is right. We should feel uneasy about dehumanizing people or reveling in their horrific suffering.
Obviously this is just a video game and it features lots of ways to pretend kill pretend humans - we all understand that. I love Battlefield and plenty of precious CODs. I'll buy this one too. It's that one game element that gives the writer pause, and I think maybe that its okay to feel uneasy about it. Does he go on to say we should boycott the game or anything that?
