Puzzle Quest 1 & 2 + Galactrix.
Most puzzle games fit the pick up and play mold.
Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz HD
Binding of Isaac.
> Baba Is YouYeah, I was considering Baba is You because I've heard good things.
Ooo yeah that would be good actually
Yes this is a really broad question but most of the games I play are long ones. I need a game I can enjoy for 30-60 minutes at a time for after work.
Preferably on Switch or PC.
I will reward you in advance with a cookie.
Wonder Boy: The Dragon Trap I think qualifies as pick up and play (it saves at your every move, but you always restart from the village) and I actually preferred it to the, equally fantastic, Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom. It doesn't even last that long.
And the art style in phenomenal
Don't mind me if I'll take a cookie from your op, then.
The Swapper (Steam) - A puzzle game with a scifi setting. You can make limited number of clones of yourself and you move all of them at the same time. It's only about 5 hours long (depending on how quick you solve them) and you can take a break at any time.
Can't believe i missed that one, good call. It's like 5$ which is amazing valueDownwell. It's cheap too.
The original doom 1993 With mods is excellent pick up and play.Yes this is a really broad question but most of the games I play are long ones. I need a game I can enjoy for 30-60 minutes at a time for after work.

BroForce
Seriously though, Broforce is a fun game and definitely fits the pick up and play criteriaI have muh GAF for that.
Rocket League
To me, pick up and play means "do something meaningful / satisfying in 10m or less" while also being enjoyable for longer play sessions. Here are some pick up and play games on the platforms you listed that I still do actually pick up and play after years and years of playing.
- Minecraft
- Daioujou
- Breath of the Wild
- Spelunky
- Guilty Gear Xrd
I recently got Diablo 3 on Switch and I think that qualifies. It is as simple as Gauntlet and can be played that way indefinitely, or you can push the loot/roguelike mechanics to the limits and create really crazy builds at higher difficulties. In light of all the additions and enhancements, I think I like it better than D2 and D1 now. A perfect action roguelike / Gauntlet clone.
I've been playing Spelunky since the old PC version (I liked those level tunes better ). Much love. I've only beaten it two or three times, so it's not like I'm even that great at it.Yeah, Spelunky is pretty much a perfect example.
Also BotW is much underrated for offering this. It's quite interesting how the idea of 'good for short and long bursts' drove the overall design of the game.
Nah, Divinity and BG are slow-paced in comparison. They're both good franchises, but you'll often spend 15m talking to all the NPCs in town, or 5m carefully reading through an interesting lore book. They are dense classic-style WRPGs where the experience is meant to be digested 1-2 hours at a time. Diablo 3 is about churning through bloody content as you bathe in loot. It has as much in common with those RPGs as DOOM (2016) has in common with a Far Cry game.I'll look into Diablo 3 as I suspect it's absolutely what I'm looking for. I wonder if games like Divinity: Original Sin 2 and Baldur's Gate would work the same way...
Also, and fitting your profile pic, Virtua Racing. The Switch version runs very wellOutrun
