This is android only correct?Stop projecting console wars.
Your mind automatically goes to “Sony too”, not his.
On topic, anyone get a chance to test it out yet?

I thought this was streaming to android devices from the console. I didnt realize this was the gaming streaming service of xbox games to consoles. Is it? That would be odd. I would think they would want to test on their console platform as well.
Corny joke if it was.Any impressions? Do any gaffer tried it? Is there any impressions article or video made today?

Projecting? You cannot be serious? For shits and giggles let me post a positive article about MS and let's watch how fast it degrades in a pile of negative filled posts after posts. Projecting? haha that's too funny.Stop projecting console wars.

It was indeed sarcasm in response to people that wish for new game tech to fail.Do you have the same negative energy when Sony announces their streaming initiative?
This is limited to Android devices, yes. And this isn't streaming from console. Its Xcloud, so you can travel around with the games available to try it out. Be sure to leave feedback if you do get in.I thought this was streaming to android devices from the console. I didnt realize this was the gaming streaming service of xbox games to consoles.
"The biggest drawback to the xCloud experience right now is simply load times for games. Microsoft is using Xbox One S hardware on its servers, so it’s only as fast as a Xbox One would load the game via its regular hard drive. This is great for game compatibility, but I’d expect Microsoft will upgrade its xCloud servers to the new Xbox Project Scarlett specs once that console launches next year. Scarlett will dramatically improve load speeds thanks to SSD storage and a more capable CPU.
Another drawback is that this is limited to Android during this initial preview period. Microsoft has not mentioned or even demonstrated iOS compatibility yet, despite Apple providing PS4 and Xbox One controller support in iOS 13 recently. This support has already turned the iPad into a portable game console for titles like Fortnite, and with the addition of xCloud it would really open up the amount of games you could play on the go.
You also can’t use xCloud if you’re signed into an Xbox One console and it’s in use. So if your family is watching Netflix using your Microsoft Account on a physical console then xCloud will require you to log out of the console or turn it off to be able to stream games from Microsoft’s cloud. It’s a bizarre requirement, and hopefully it’s just a limitation of this early preview."
"You might be wondering what hardware is needed to get on board with Project xCloud. Your phone or tablet must be running Android 6.0 or better, and your device must support Bluetooth 4.0 in order to hook up a Bluetooth-enabled Xbox One Wireless Controller. You also need a Microsoft account.
Streaming can be achieved over Wi-Fi or cellular connections. Microsoft says it will be working with T-Mobile in the US and Vodafone in the UK throughout the public test to learn more about how gamers play on mobile networks, and presumably to better optimize the experience – but you can play using any mobile carrier."
Project xCloud public testing is live – sign up to stream Gears 5 (and more) to your Android phone - TECHTELEGRAPH
Microsoft’s Project xCloud has kicked off with public testing of the game-streaming service, as was promised last month. Four games will be available initially to be streamed to your Android device, and Phil Spencer, head of Xbox at Microsoft, announced that the public preview has launched on...www.techtelegraph.co.uk
it is odd they didnt go for X hardware.XCloud beta is running on Xbox One S hardware? ew.
I want it to fail because of what it could mean for ownership if it takes off, along with other things that publishers might tryIt was indeed sarcasm in response to people that wish for new game tech to fail.
That's been the plan the entire time far as I understood. I don't really understand the logic behind that. Not trying to shit on Xbox...but they got plenty of the Xbox One X available to fill those servers right? I'm confused as to why they opted for the S. The Verge is also assuming the S will be replaced with Scarlett? My question is...when? They certainly wouldn't do it before launch, though I'd argue that they need to. They can't have Xcloud launch as a dud. I'm sure Stadia is not having this problem.XCloud beta is running on Xbox One S hardware? ew.

Found user on twitter who has a cheap camera and bad internet .. suffers lag.
Yes I get what you're saying but imagine if they can get this running great, it would be like having a Switch in portable mode with the power of a Xbox One and I think that would be fantastic. Imagine Doom 2016 on Switch v xb1 in portable, all depends on how they get it running of course.XCloud beta is running on Xbox One S hardware? ew.
What does the camera have to do with anything? He was using his carrier data which had over 10 down and 10 up which is more than what Xbox says you need.
If he cant run a camera properly then his not tech savy so he prob dosent realise that he should be posting his actual speed and ping times over the network at a time his broadcasting.
There will be plenty of these posts ... but my carrier says im on 10 mb 4g therefor im getting 10mb 20ms lg constantly ... right ... right? Lol
Naw was my argument to on point to tackle?... if youd actually read my post history ive been arguing how cloud gaming can never match local play ( in specific detail).Sorry, I just now realized you're part of the Defense force. Carry on soldier.
My hypothesis is that they are using an S for a few reasons. That's been the plan the entire time far as I understood. I don't really understand the logic behind that.
