After reading a lot an this thread, here are my thoughts:

1. $500 for the PS5, with the XSX possibly more expensive
This is most likely true seeing as how Sony is very hesitant on suffering considerable losses with the sale of each console beginning with the PS4. Remember that the price of the PS4 at $400 in 2013 would be ~$450 today - and they originally sold at a loss with the PS4 as well making me doubt they're willing to sell at a greater loss this gen. The XSX may be more expensive depending on how much more powerful it is and whether they cut corners to mitigate the price to match Sony.

2. No console will hit 12tf of RDNA power
There's a discrepancy with how teraflops are calculated between RDNA TFs and GCN TFs. When Phil Spencer said that the XSX it'll be twice as powerful as the Xbox One X, he was likely telling the truth. The XSX - which is said to be more powerful than the PS5 - will be 12TF of GCN power, making it ~9-10TF of RDNA power. And if Sony stated that the PS5 was 3 times as powerful as the PS4 Pro, the same numbers would apply.

Remember that hardware-accelerated ray tracing will be featured in both consoles - which takes up die space on the chips themselves. Both Sony and Microsoft could have gotten 12TF RDNA without ray tracing, however as said before those RT cores take up crucial die space. I think most of us on here would rather have ray tracing as opposed to higher textures.

3. Even if the Github leak is real, this gen will be a bigger jump than PS3/360 -> PS4/Xbone
The PS4 for example had a weaker CPU than the PS3 and both featured slow hard drives. For the next gen consoles, we're expecting to see an improvement on almost everything with tech such as: ray tracing; NVME SSDs; more ram; stronger GPU; and a much stronger CPU. If the rumours are true that the PS5 dev kit performs better than the XSX dev kit, that's likely because of the higher throughput that Sony is aiming for as opposed to raw power. That's of course due to the new CPUs and SSDs.

What happened to all the insiders saying Feb?
Since every insider seems to claims Feb is the big reveal (which isnt even a big stretch since they did in Feb 2013), but for sake of going against the grain, I'll say March 2020.
Look at me. Looks like I'm more of an insider than these guys. I called March.

Ok guys, what do you want to know about PS5?

Might need to stop sniffing glue
I especially like the tweet from them that MLB The Show might be two separate releases in 2021 alluding to that being a reason for a possible launch title for PS5.

Who “disposes” their games...?

Like... what?

Also, if you have PSOne games still, chances are you are a collector, and not some guy who was about to throw them
out.

They’re hinting that PS5 will be BC for all previous PS systems.

What a statement. PS4 certainly disagrees.
What are you on about? You mean to say that Sony will just follow their PS4 playbook beat for beat?

Again, can you please clarify why you're bringing up PS4 in this conversation about next gen?

Nooo, you don’t say? 🤣

I know. It’s been rumoured for a while because it’s a kick ass thing that’s Damon near impossible to do perfectly, but hopefully they do it.

And then everybody will stop saying about how the Xbox one BC stuff is pointless hopefully.

After PS1 mini... I’ll settle for PS4 BC.

Man at least phil spencer or larry hyrb etc would have dropped a note on twitter letting us know they see the buzzing but an event wouldn't be happening.

Frustrating.

I mean to say that yes, Sony will follow the successful PS4 playbook. Can you please clarify why they won't/wouldn't?

I just want to see all the launch games I just want to know if Socom is coming back because that's the only game that will make me buy the console day 1, I'm probably going to PC if we go another gen with no real tactical shooter that's not a hero shooter. R6 is the only shooter that did a solid job.

They have already stated they want to reduce the length of time between reveal and release. Since the PS4, their headquarters have moved from Japan to US. The whole team has pretty much changed. The market is different. Social media influence is greater. The dissemination of information is a lot quicker. They also want to keep the competition guessing. All those reasons and more are why they won't follow the same playbook.

I think Sony are doing an amazing job thus far.
